Appreciate Today

Sure, Jesus welcomes everyone. He does love everyone deeply, more than we could ever imagine. He carried the cross for all of us and that is a fact.

But Jesus of the Bible is way different than a man who just smiled at everyone and was crucified for that smile. The more I read the Gospels the more in my mind forms the shape of a man who stood with authority, conviction, His eyes and tongue sharp, a man so beautiful and wise and loving, but also strict when He had to. He has definitely been "not nice" at times in the Bible.

Jesus corrected and did not call to follow Him those who were "busy" with other matters than He. He casted out demons and called out all those who sinned, even in their own homes, at their own dinner tables, but for what other reason than to lead everyone to Him? His love and wish for us all to join Him and the Father in the Kingdom beyond? If He had said nothing, and accepted everything, no one could be saved. There's nothing clearer to me from the Bible than Jesus' words about the dangers of sin.

I did too, at first, google stuff like: "is this a sin?"

Truth is, everything is. Sin is "simply" everything that belongs to the world.

It is easy to know the loving miracles of Jesus, believe in them, since that's the whole reason why He did them, and this He said plenty, then just ignore His words about the wrath to come to those who continue living comfortably in what the world offers.
