“Your friends came here looking for you,” Konrad replied from a spot in the cabin, cozy as he read a book. He had heard his brother come in and could recognize who it was just by his gait. “Or did you already know that?”

“How does your afternoon look?” Konrad asked, coming up to the blonde with a rather confident smile.

“I’m sorry what?” Konrad blinked at his sister. “That didn’t actually happen,” he shook his head, pausing before looking at Phoenix once more, “Did it?”

“Really? I don’t see it leaking on me,” PJ shot back, giving him a dirty look, “Sure, talk to the Hephaestus cabin. That ever occur to you?”

“Look, I’m not judging but what were you thinking?” 

“I really hope this isn’t the reason you woke me up before 7AM,” PJ said, “Because this absolutely could have waited until later.”

“No, I’m not bothered by this. Scream if monsters get through the barrier, not now,” Ginny rolled her eyes at the other.

“While I’m not too bothered myself, there’s no need to make others feel silly for being scared,” Konrad pointed out. “Things are okay now, but they could get real serious really fast.”

“Oh, okay then,” Ophelia managed to say, trying to sound like that didn’t bother her one bit. She rolled up sleeves of her pink sweater as she sat down next to Konrad. “I’m sure you’ll manage to eat a lot of those.”

“Don’t say that to Kendall, I just found her over there fighting with someone about Valentine’s Day and Aphrodite. It was very entertaining.”

“I wouldn’t dare. Not because I’m afraid of her, but rather because I have better things to do with my time than listen to her drone on about this pointless holiday.”

“Thank God, finally someone who isn’t obsessed with Valentine’s Day. I totally have a flask of whiskey, should I spike the punch, or just drink it all myself?”

“You mean to tell me that a bunch of people here are? Besides cabin 10 I genuinely find that hard to believe,” he replied. “Whiskey is always good. Perhaps spiking the punch could make all of this a little more interesting.”

“i mean if it wasn’t for aphrodite, and her cabin, it probably wouldn’t be quite so over the top, after all to most normal people it’s just a commercial holiday meant to sell cards, flowers and chocolate.” she said, a long sigh following her words. “but the extra gooey s’mores, those i agree are totally worth sticking around for.” 

“Hope you told your little girlfriend there’s no date tonight,” Mara smirked, sitting down next to her brother.

“I think there’s going to be a fight over those s’mores. I know for sure I’m after them too,” Caden plopped down next to the other.

“You realize that there’s plenty to go around, right? That and we can kind of wish for anything and it’ll appear. That’s a thing too.”

“You didn’t even send me a card. Oh Konrad you wound me.”

“So I decided to go blond for Valentine’s Day. I got one of the Iris kids to help me. What do you think?”

“None taken,” Celina laughed. “I’m not much of a fighter, I’ll be honest. Maybe a little with a bow and arrow, but I don’t like being too close to any action,” she admitted with a shrug. “I’ve been here a couple years and thankfully, no hard time. I just wonder if I was claimed by the right goddess,” she added, smiling to try and brush off her concern. “If you’ve been here a while, what do you do to keep things fresh and interesting?”
