Kayla blinked at her best friend. "Why not just move in with me?" she said after a long moment. "No scheme necessary."

She snorted out another laugh. "Thursdays, huh? Gotta keep that in mind." Her expression turned more serious as Kayla raised a brow at her friend. With the way Giselle worded it, this proposal could be just about anything. "Always," she stated simply, meaning it wholeheartedly.

The laughter that breaks out is not the polite "virtue appropriate" laughter which Savannah typically displays when she's putting on her act. It's loud and uncontrollable, and certainly not attractive or graceful. It takes a few moments to compose herself before she can explain herself to Kayla, and there are still tears in the corners of her eyes when she does. "Well I think I can solve the mystery of why she was so worked up, considering I had made out with her in the bathroom and left her hanging."

Kayla groaned as she pulled a face. "You're saying I had your sloppy seconds?" That was embarrassing, to say the least. And yet, somehow, it felt appropriate. Truly the epitome of her life.

Kayla's brows remained lifted. That wasn't how she meant it and they both knew it. "Fine, sure, whatever." She held her hands up in concession. "It's....not a terrible party. Just, don't like when we say it's for Dr. Wayne." None of this was for him. If anyone gave a shit about the guy this would be private, where only his loved ones had to watch. Not the entire city. Not with a fucking betting board on the results.

"Because you're coming towards the end of your training, that is the last thing that needs to be done before you become a fully fledged Gambit." He told her with a small shrug. "It's your choice if you wanna go through with it or not."

Her gaze dropped down to the training manual sitting on her desk. "If I don't...do I just go back to being a Knight?" Someone that just gives traffic tickets, making no real difference in the world.

Kayla rolled her eyes for the umpteenth time since she let it slip about her Trial Party adventure. God forbid a girl get tipsy and eat out a hot blonde. "You keep fuckable blondes in your closet? And you haven't been sharing?" At least Giselle was sounding more herself since everything that had happened, and for that, Kayla would always be willing to be the butt end of a joke.

A sharp, loud laugh escaped her. "A whole city? Does the Vice Princess have a exhibition kink?" Kayla barely had time to grab her own coffee before she was dragged off, a smirk on her lips. At least Laurie was fun. Never a dull moment. "Ooooh is that a challenge? I love a challenge."

She lifted a brow. "Bullshit. No one can be 100 percent all the time. Not even my sister who fucking breathes sunshine and rainbows." Maybe that's what irritated her so much about Doug, the complete falseness. The mask that never cracked.

He let out a chuckle along with a shrug. "What can you prepare for that? Mostly my affairs as a just in case, I also wrote down any shit the simulation could have on me so I couldn't be too super surprised when it popped up, worked out a bit more so I had the strength. Everyone is different, you can prepare as much as possible then crumble completely when you get in there. My biggest thing though.. just have someone to talk about it at the end whether it's me or your sister, just let it all out."

The thing was....could she talk about this to anyone? Kayla was the strong one. The one that never showed her cracks, her many flaws. Giselle, maybe. Her sisters were out of the question. She glanced up at Elijah with apprehension. "Why are you telling me this now?"

She didn't have the heart to tell Angelie that things were still crazy at work, especially after Elijah dropped that bomb on her. Instead, Kayla smiled brightly as she pulled her sister in a hug. "Ah yes, purple, the most delicious of colors."

Kayla couldn't help rolling her eyes. "Depends on who's asking." Was Adeline going to keep up the dumb ass game? She held up a tray, almost within reach of the other.

Her expression turned softer. "I'm okay Rayne, really. I'm the last person you ever have to worry about." This was why Kayla became a Knight and then Gambit, to make her family's life easier. Better.

Elijah sighed some. "All I can say is prepare yourself, it isn't shown to the public like others but it feels real, it smells real and it hurts."

Kayla felt a kind of numbness at his warning. At least no one would see it, but could she handle going through a trial? "How did you prepare?" she asked quietly.
