Kayden wasnât shocked by the blonds reply. Sometimes you got people that gave you an honest answer. Other times you got the people that played along and then you got those people that want nothing to do with you. It was really her loss. Turning to see who the blond was pointing too. Kayden couldnât help but smile. She didnât care about the guy that was at the table. No, who she was interested in was the brunette. If she wasnât mistaken that was the women her boss was after. The one that Syria was having âtroubleâ kidnapping. Yet, hearing the pride in the blondâs voice, Kayden knew what she had to do, and that was play it cool while getting some intel. âHmm⌠your girlfriend is pretty cute. So, how long have you two been?â She asked as she looked at the blond.
Rory beamed with affection, biting her lip just to keep the grin at bay. It was getting ridiculous, how much she loved her. Her lip popped free and she tore her eyes away from Sawyer, fixing them on Kayden instead. âSheâs beautiful,â Rory corrected, as if cute was somehow an insult. Her cheeks flushed at the corniness, but she couldnât take it back; not when it was true. âLord knows why she settled for me,â she joked, brushing the hair from her face. âMy moneyâs on the boobs. Gotta love that good Earth cleavage.â
Chuckling to herself, her gaze found itâs way back to Sawyer once more and settled there. âI donât know,â she answered honestly. âItâs kinda new but kinda not. We met each other last year, and it just sort of felt rightâŚ. Itâs always felt right with her.â
Kayden held up her hands in mock surrender. âMy bad, she is beautiful and yours.â Trying hard not to roll her eyes at the blond. The other woman was head over heels for the brunette. Which Kayden didnât care about. It just gave her a challenge, one she would worry about later. She went from staring at the brunette to looking at the blond. Her eyes traveled to the other womanâs chest. âWell, you do have a nice rack. But I am sure that there is more to you then... how did you put it? Good earth cleavage.âÂ
Kayden watches the blond closely. Taking mental notes at how she looked at the brunette. Yup blondie was in love. She just hoped that it wasnât strong. Because it seems that strong connections end up giving her the most trouble. Not that she didnât like the challenge. It was more a headache dealing with loose ends. âLet me guess you two started out as friends then became closer. And somewhere down the line started dating?â Kayden asked with a sly smile. âThat is really sweet. You know what... in honor of your relationship how about you and your group order whatever you want. It will be on me.â    Â

âSome people do, and the people that use it are either really drunk; Which I am not, extremely cocky; I can be at times, or they are trying to get inside your mind; which is a very good possibility I am.â She said with a smirk as she looked over at the male sitting next to her. Kayden was good at reading others. Itâs something she prided herself on. Even though she was drinking and with most people, their good judgment went with each drink they had. But, that rarely happened to her. Kayden would still able to tell what someone was after. Yes, the alcohol sometimes affected her judgment. She wasnât perfected. But, no one else had to know that. Not if you know how to play the game.
Kayden watched as the guy orders his drink. Â Besides him having a really nice head of hair he did seem confident. Confidence was something that Kayden had respect. Even though she found that when someone was overly confident they were hiding something. Yet, this guys wasnât. Kayden let herself look him over, to see if she could spot anything that was off. âLet me guess, could it be; leave me alone or get lost?â She asked before she took another sip of her drink.
Cameron took in her words and was surprised that she hadnât reacted in anger or even annoyance. There werenât many people that heâd come across that seemed to spell things out the way that she did, and though heâd just met her, he had a feeling that theyâd be able to help each other out. He wanted in on whatever was going on in New York, and he was positive she was on the inside. Nothing that big went down without a lot of money flying around, and Cameron was looking to find a way to his share. Seeing how methodical she was is casual conversation gave him great hope to how she was in business. âNo, Iâm an Aquarius,â he offered up with a little humor as he became more interested in their conversation. âFinding what youâre looking for in my mind?â He took a drink of his beer and set it down on the bar in front of him. He didnât really care for the taste, but though heâd never admit it, he liked to fit in. âIt can be a pretty scary place in there.â
âAquarius... well, I am a Scorpio. Which makes us both water signs.â Kayden said with a hint of amusement in her voice. She had to admit that she didnât expect that kind of reply. This guy was pretty interesting. âHmm... canât say I have. Not yet anyway.â Before taking a drink from her glass, Kayden laughed. âTrust me anyoneâs mind can be a scary place, mine included.â Taking a drink as she took a quick glance around the bar. Checking to see if there was anyone worth recruiting or kidnapping. But so far there only seemed to drunks worthy of kidnapping. Kayden looked back at the guy sitting next to her. âSo, what makes your mind a pretty scary place? Are you secretly a brony Mr. Aquarius?â Kayden asked with a hint of teasing in her voice.

Smirking a little at the womanâs reply, Kayden could tell that this one would be fun to play with. âI have to admit that it isnât my best line. But, sometimes the classics work.â Still smiling as she took another sip of her drink. âcorrect me if I am wrong but before you said that it feels like you live here. Now that could mean only two things; one you are an alcoholic and come here twenty-four seven,â Kayden looked the woman over. Taking in her appearance. âWhich I highly doubt that. Or two, you work here. And if thatâs the case why are you still here. I know this place has great drinks and food. But I am sure youâd rather be somewhere else right now.â Paused for a moment and looked the other women in the eyes. Lening a little closer but, not close enough to invade her personal space. âUnless that place doesnât feel like it used too.â Kayden watched the other woman for a reaction. Now Kayden normally doesnât care about anyoneâs personal issues. But, there was something else about this woman telling her that she could use her. Besides her initial idea of fun. All she had to do was play her cards right. âIf you want⌠you could drown your sorrows. I promise to make sure you get home safely.â
Aspen was a naturally skeptic person (despite believing in aliens and Bigfoot, that is) so of course some random girl in a bar promising to make sure she gets home safely doesnât sit well with her at least initially. Itâs already a little uncomfortable to see how well she can read people, namely her. But Aspen is also unbelievably tired. Sheâs in desperate need of unwinding and why not here in the bar with a stranger? Sheâd just said she practically lived there anyway. âFirst things first - not an alcoholic,â she said, smiling. âIâm a bartender here. Most people wouldnât think it to look at me unless they frequented this place, which Iâm guessing you donât⌠anyway, donât we all need a night or two to let loose? Or at least loosen up a little?â She raised her eyebrows and took a long slip from her glass. Her brow furrowed curiously after that as she regarded the other woman. âWhatâs your name?â she asked.
Smiling brightly as the other woman informed her that she does indeed work here. Kayden loved being right, it made her very happy. Though Kayden knows that she still needs to keep her head in the game. âThat is a good thing. Alcoholism ruined one of my uncle's life.â Pausing for a moment to take a drink before continuing. âIf I remember what I was told, he was kicked out of the family for it.â Kayden shrug after admitting that. âNot that it matters. Sometimes those things happen in families.â She couldnât help but glance over at the other woman once she was told that she worked here. âHmm... you are right you donât like much like a bartender. No, offense but you look a little young to be a bartender.â Kayden laughed a little, âBut then looking younger then your age is a good thing. And Iâve only come in here once or twice. Probably oo the nights you have off.â Nodding her head in agreement. âThatâs kind of why I offered you a ride home; if you want one. You do look like you need a night or two to loosen up.â Kayden moved a few stans of hair out of her face. âHmmm... I assume that you could just ask a co-worker to give you a left home. But, how about we play a game of twenty questions, you can have your night to loosen up, and I get to know a pretty face.â Snapping her fingers, âI knew I was forgetting something! My name is Kayden...would you like to know my middle and last name too?â Kayden asks with a sly smile playing on her lips.

Kayden was sitting at the bar smalling as she sipped on her drink. These past six months have been pretty good to her. Devone has decided to teach her a few things about cybernetics and biocybernetics. Of course, she is a quick study. So, taking what he has shown her and putting it to the test by creating a few new creatures for the rangers to play with. Has proven to Devone that he is right in trusting her more than his own daughter. The next sip of her drink tastes a bit sour as she thinks of that girl. The monsters Syria has been creating seem to be lacking. Itâs like she isnât even trying, and whenever that girl fails. It doesnât end well for her. There is just something off about that girl. She can feel the hatred and anger raiding off of Devone everytime they are in a room together. Syria has so much potential and she is wasting it. Oh, well Syriaâs loss is her gain. Kayden wonders how long it will take for her to realize she has been replaced. By a human no less.Â
Smiling as she sets her glass down. She wonders how long it will take before Devone has earth at his mercy. Yes, these six months have been pretty good. Even though they have taken a few hits here and there. But, everything feels like it is slowly falling into place for them. She knows Devone is planning something big. But, until he calls her she might as well have some fun. Looking over at the bar stool next to her. Kayden smiles brightly âHey, there stranger. You come here often?â
âDo people actually use that line?â Cameron asked as he turned on his bar stool to face the brunette whoâd spoken to him. If heâd done his research right, and he was positive that he had, this was exactly the person heâd shown up in hopes of finding. Not wanting to tip his hand and let her knew what he was up to, he turned his attention to the bartender and waved him down like heâd done it a thousand times before. Getting away with things, in this case underage drinking, was all about confidence, and he had that in spades. Act like you belong, and people thought you did. âGimme whateverâs on tap,â he told the guy before turning back to the girl. Just looking at her, it was hard to believe she was the same person responsible for the city wide blackout six months ago. She seemed so normal. It was sort of blowing his mind. âYou should ask me my sign next.â
âSome people do, and the people that use it are either really drunk; Which I am not, extremely cocky; I can be at times, or they are trying to get inside your mind; which is a very good possibility I am.â She said with a smirk as she looked over at the male sitting next to her. Even in the dim lighting of the bar, Roryâs eyes were sparkling bright and free. âThree, please!â She held up three fingers while smiling and pulling several bills from her bra. Buying drinks was a waste of money on her part, but it wasnât about the alcohol (sheâd say)âit was about the experience. And tonight, well, tonight wasnât anything special, but hey, Devone wasnât attacking the city for once, and that was always worth celebrating. Folding her hands, Rory leaned against the counter, prepared to wait for her drinks, but turned when someone new addressed her.
âHey,â she greeted, lips twitching and a hint of laughter in her voice. She was only mildly surprised that this had happened. Sheâd played this game before. She was Queen of this game before, but things were different now. The other woman was attractive, no doubt, and maybe several months ago, she would have taken the baitâleaped at it evenâbut thatâs not who she wanted to be anymore. Still, it was flattering. The game was just over; she had retired. âI do, actually. With my brother and best friend mostly, but tonightââ she shifted her body and pointed at Sawyer who was sitting with Reese several tables away. âIâm with her.â Just saying it made her chest swell with pride.
Kayden wasnât shocked by the blonds reply. Sometimes you got people that gave you an honest answer. Itâs only a couple of hours of running the bar and keeping the rowdier patrons under control, and with the early hour she knows she should head back to her dorm to get some sleep, but instead Aspen stays, ordering herself a strong drink. Anything to leave her with a buzz pleasant enough to soften her rough edges but not heavy enough to keep her from calling a cab back to campus after last call. The first sip burns the back of her throat, making her wince. The next few burn a little less. And the warmth that starts in her belly and works its way outward feels all the more welcome in lieu of actual responsibility.
A voice beside her speaks up, and she blinks before glancing off to the side, taking in the brunette beside her. It takes her a moment to answer as something peculiar settles within her. She canât pinpoint the feeling or what it means, only that it leaves her minutely unsettled. The tequila makes her speak though. âSometimes I feel like I live in this joint,â she admits, huffing out a chuckle before she raises a brow at the girl. âDoes that line actually work on people?â
Smirking a little at the womanâs reply, Kayden could tell that this one would be fun to play with. âI have to admit that it isnât my best line. Patience was one thing Evie had never been too skilled in, not when it came to vengeance, to people who wronged her, and Devone happened to be number one on that list. Sheâd spent countless days training for the day to finally take him down but sheâd grown to realize she couldnât do it alone. She worked better in the dark, in the shadows, and her job would be much easier with a distraction. That was where she needed the Power Rangers, Devone was so focused on them that she knew itâd be his downfall one of these days. If she could wait that long was the question.Â
With Arlo pretty much gone off the grid, sheâd started coming above ground more hoping to overhear something useful in her cause. Working undercover underground only got her so far. Thatâs how she ended up here, a place she would normally not step foot inside. There were too many people, too many drunks, and neither appealed to her. Nursing her drink, she glanced over when she heard someone speak to her. What was it with the people on this planet and small talk? âNo,â she replied, before taking another drink. She wasnât looking to participate in conversation but knew better than to judge on appearances, maybe this girl knew something useful. âPlaces like this arenât usually my scene.â
Tilting her head to one side as she looked at the woman sitting next to her. She didnât know many people that would come to a place that wasnât really their scene. Then again who was she to judge? Kayden sometime found herself at the place wouldnât goto. âWell, then why are you here? Are you stuck babysitting one of these morons?â She asked as she jester at some of the drunks. âOr are you here looking for some... Oh, how should I put this... entertainment?â Kayden took a drink as she waited for an answer. Yes, the woman next to her was attractive, really attractive. She wondered what kind of things was this other woman into. Kaydenâs curiosity sometimes got the better of her. But, how can one not be curious about someone sitting in a place that wasnât their scene?
