Are you training to be one of those people that go into space⌠um, astronauts! Thatâs what theyâre called since itâs derived from the Greek word Argonaut and astron. An underwater planet would be exciting, but I hear that having air to breathe is pretty important of us humans to have plenty of! So be sure to pack some O.
Iâve been to ten of them so far! Theyâre all so different and unique, and also have their own book collections. Itâs amazing! That must have been nice to have a friend who is a girl read to you. It sounds very relaxing and not bad at all. I usually just read to myself. Iâve never had a computer! Iâve had lots of other technology, but nothing exactly like a laptop or anything. Theyâre very cool, and I hope I find one for myself.
Ha! My girlfriend wishes. Iâm not smart enough for that, but I do think aliens are pretty cool. Wait, really? Eury just spent a whole bunch of months in Greek so I bet she knows all that kind of stuff. Thatâs my best friend. She would never forget the O. Itâs her favorite letter of the whole alphabet!
Ten sounds like a lot. I mostly go to the one at school, but Iâm not good at reading by myself so maybe thatâs why. I usually take pictures instead. Sawyer doesnât like that as much, but she likes me so itâs ok. Have you tried any yard sales? We donât really have yards hereâor garagesâbut I bet you could still find some good stuff on peopleâs stoops.
syriafraye:
Syria found herself fighting the urge to facepalm. Taking a deep breath before she even tried to replay to the girl laying next to her. âWhat do you mean what? Most of you humans have to wear sunscreen. I even have to wear sunscreen.â Shaking her head at Roryâs little display; the girl was being overdramatic. Well, that is what Syria hoped. âRory, why donât you just ask Sawyer to help you put on sunscreen when you need to wear some.â She looked down at the blond before adding, âYou arenât going to melt. I believe the city is hotter because of how many people are here and because of the traffic and subway system. But if you feel like you are literally melting maybe you should have Dr. Oliver check into that.âÂ
âI know itâs been a while, but my skin stays kinda cold,â she grumbled, wincing as she shifted in her place. The angry red blotchiness of her skin was making her grumpy, and she was in desperate need of some aloe. The idea of Sawyer rubbing it all over body did cheer her up though. âI think Iâd prefer her to rub me in other places,â she said, attempting to laugh but halting quickly when it only furthered her pain. She sighed. âI think itâs safe to say the sun is team evil, which is great cuz itâll fit right in in hell.â
kaydendelacroix:
Kayden held up her hands in mock surrender. âMy bad, she is beautiful and yours.â Trying hard not to roll her eyes at the blond. The other woman was head over heels for the brunette. Which Kayden didnât care about. It just gave her a challenge, one she would worry about later. She went from staring at the brunette to looking at the blond. Her eyes traveled to the other womanâs chest. âWell, you do have a nice rack. But I am sure that there is more to you then⌠how did you put it? Good earth cleavage.âÂ
Kayden watches the blond closely. Taking mental notes at how she looked at the brunette. Yup blondie was in love. She just hoped that it wasnât strong. Because it seems that strong connections end up giving her the most trouble. Not that she didnât like the challenge. It was more a headache dealing with loose ends. âLet me guess you two started out as friends then became closer. And somewhere down the line started dating?â Kayden asked with a sly smile. âThat is really sweet. You know what⌠in honor of your relationship how about you and your group order whatever you want. It will be on me.â    Â
Rory chuckled, unable to control the grin that overwhelmed her face at that. She wasnât a possessive person or at least she never used to be. Even when she had been with Asher, she never felt the need to hold on tightly as if he could somehow slip away. Perhaps thatâs why he had. It was different with Sawyer though. Rory liked being hers, and she wanted people to know. For the first time in her life, she wanted to be one of those nauseating couples that everyone hated yet somehow strived to be. She didnât expect her to slip away by any means, and she was certainly free to roam as she pleased. Rory trusted her with everything she had, but she was also proud, and sheâd shout it from the rooftops if Sawyer would allow. She was head over heels in love with Sawyer McClintock.
The server returned, and Rory took her beer, immediately sipping at it just to hide the goofy-ass grin that covered her face. Setting the glass back down, she caught Kayden shamelessly checking her out and smirked. âIâm sure you wonât forget it,â she winked.Â
Instant guilt. She looked away, frowning and resisting the urge to run back to the table. Why had she said that? Thankfully, the conversation shifted back to her girlfriend quickly, and Rory almost snorted at her assessment. âThat obvious, huh?â she asked, remembering that fateful skateboarding accident all too well. As cheesy as it sounded, the fall had changed her life; saved it even. âBut what can I say?â She shook her head. âThe best ones always do... unless youâre on Dawsonâs Creek cuz then you may need to reconsider,â she rambled. When Kayden offered to buy their drinks, Roryâs eyes widened. âOh, you totally donât have to do that. My girlfriendâs kindâve out but kindâve in, and I donât want to freak her out or anything. Thatâs super sweet though! Thank you,â she said. âIâm Rory, by the way. Did I say that already?â
cameronmercer:
Hearing the âOh, itâs youâ as the strange blonde drug addict approached, Cameron for the first time in his life, wished there was someone else around. Surely she couldnât be speaking to him, as heâd never seen the girl before in his life. Looking over his shoulder as she stopped in front of him, he was dismayed to see that it was in fact with that sheâd been speaking to. As she went on talking about monster poop or whatever it was she was saying, he tried to step around her and simply walk away. âLook, lady, I ainât your dealer or whoever youâre looking for. Go ramble this crazy at them.â Trying again to step around the woman without setting her on some sort of drug fueled attack, Cameron adjusted his bag on his shoulders. âMy nameâs Banksy,â he lied as he didnât want this woman to know even his first name. The less she knew about him, the better. âAnd Iâve got to go graffiti some art on stuff now. See you around.âÂ
Dealer? This guy didnât even know her, and he already assumed she was on drugs? It was off-putting to say the least, but she was still lost and worse things had been said about her. If she didnât get help from him, she likely wouldnât find help at all, and the last thing she wanted to do was upset Tommy and Kat by teleporting unnecessarily. If nothing else, she could follow him out of here and find her way from there.
âHey, wait!â Rory called after him. He was already several feet away when she turned, and she had to hustle to catch up. Joining him at his side, she attempted to stay in stride by picking up her pace. Thankfully, she had speed. âAre you an artist, Bansky? What kind of stuff do you draw? I saw some penises on a mailbox once, but they werenât very good so I bet it wasnât you.â

Aspen had been so busy watching the flames and idly wondering how long it would take for someone to call the NYFD that she didnât notice whomever had come up behind her. The hands clapped over her eyes, lips pressed to her cheek⌠and it took only mere seconds to know that neither hands nor the lips belonged to the person she wanted them to.Â
âHey - Ror!â she protested, reaching up to pull the hands away so she could still see the bonfire. âYou shouldnât sneak up on people like that, especially to look at their ass.â She narrowed her eyes at the girl as she came to stand beside her instead, but as she looked away again, the faintest flicker of a smile was tugging up the corner of her lips. Sheâd spent so much time away from campus lately that she hadnât seen much of Rory. More than Eury, obviously, but still not a whole lot. Dare she say that she actually missed Roryâs antics? Never out loud, thatâs for sure.
âPlease tell me youâre not the one who started this?â she said, gesturing to the display of burning books and out of control flames.
Despite Euryâs absence, Rory and Aspen were stuck together. Whether or not Aspen knew that, Rory wasnât sure, but after spending a year under the same roof and undergoing all sorts of transformations togetherâ it just was. At the very least, she was Euryâs sister and that meant something to Rory. Her friends were here family, and by association, Aspen was her family too.
She snorted. âWrong. Thatâs exactly why you should sneak up on somebody!â she argued. Sidling up to stand beside her, Rory checked her hip with her own and grinned. âYouâve got an ass, girl. Own it! Did I teach you nothing?â Shaking her head, her smile faded and she looked at her sternly. âNow if I grabbed it on the other handâ that would be wrong. Which is why I didnât!â She threw her arms up in innocence and smirked, her gaze finding itâs way back to the fire. She still couldnât believe that people had come together from all over campus to burn their notes and supplies in one giant giant, flaming, pile. It was a strange kind of comradery but comradery all the same, and Rory could appreciate the solidarity. Looking back to Aspen, she laughed. âThis?â She motioned to the pit. âI wish.âÂ
syriafraye:
Syria sighed at Rory. âDid you tell Dr. Oliver or Professor Hillard about this?â She asked looking over at Rory. Of course, the girl probably didnât. âYou do realize if the serum is causing you to burn. Then Dr. Oliver and I will have to run some tests.â Syria watched the blond for a moment. âYour skin is pretty fair and you did use sunscreen right?â Shaking her head, Syria wondered why no one understood the concept of sunscreen. She wasnât even from this planet and understood itâs usefulness. Syria and Aspen used the product last summer, and it was helpful. Â
âWhat?â Roryâs brow furrowed, and she lifted her head to get a better look at her. Paying no attention to the idea of testing, her mind went straight to skin care. âI have to wear sunscreen?!â she asked, suddenly astounded by the assertion. This was exhausting. She plopped her head back down and whined. âWhatâs the point of being a human Popsicle if Iâm still gonna melt.â

I think New York is my favorite place in the universe so far! Everything here is always so lively, and Iâve managed to accumulate so many new things. My first week here I found a bicycle someone was giving away for free! Itâs a little small for me but thatâs okay, I still love it. I also love the libraries! There are so many, and theyâre all so different. Iâve forgotten how cool computers are, itâs exciting to be on one again. Maybe Iâll get lucky again and manage to get my hands on a laptop one day. So many people have them, Iâm sure the perfect one is out there for me tooâ somewhere in this big, big city.
You sure about that? The universe is pretty big! I canât wait to visit Mars or Eltar or somewhere really cool like that. Could you imagine? Rumor has it, thereâs an entire planet under water. Itâd be like living in an aquarium all the time! Isnât that awesome? Earth is pretty okay though. I bet it was better when the unicorns were free.
How many libraries did you see? I used to hate them, but then my girlfriend started reading to me, and they got way better. I think Iâd like anything if she was there. Is that bad? Computers are great though! I use Lightroom all the time for photo editing. What happened to yours?
kaydendelacroix:
Kayden wasnât shocked by the blonds reply. Sometimes you got people that gave you an honest answer. Other times you got the people that played along and then you got those people that want nothing to do with you. It was really her loss. Turning to see who the blond was pointing too. Kayden couldnât help but smile. She didnât care about the guy that was at the table. No, who she was interested in was the brunette. If she wasnât mistaken that was the women her boss was after. The one that Syria was having âtroubleâ kidnapping. Yet, hearing the pride in the blondâs voice, Kayden knew what she had to do, and that was play it cool while getting some intel. âHmm⌠your girlfriend is pretty cute. So, how long have you two been?â She asked as she looked at the blond.
Rory beamed with affection, biting her lip just to keep the grin at bay. It was getting ridiculous, how much she loved her. Her lip popped free and she tore her eyes away from Sawyer, fixing them on Kayden instead. âSheâs beautiful,â Rory corrected, as if cute was somehow an insult. Her cheeks flushed at the corniness, but she couldnât take it back; not when it was true. âLord knows why she settled for me,â she joked, brushing the hair from her face. âMy moneyâs on the boobs. Gotta love that good Earth cleavage.â
Chuckling to herself, her gaze found itâs way back to Sawyer once more and settled there. âI donât know,â she answered honestly. âItâs kinda new but kinda not. We met each other last year, and it just sort of felt right.... Itâs always felt right with her.â

Reese picked up a side gig of walking dogs in his free time. Living in the city was expensive, even as a student with super powers, so he did what he had to do. It was easy enough to schedule around his extra circularsâ both this official NYU ones, and the power ranger ones, and honestly he loved it. Being outside, in nature, with animals was bringing all his favorite things together. The fact that it put a little extra jingle in his pocket was just a plus. Â
Most days he had multiple dogs to walk, but he had a soft spot for his first customer, Mr. Adkins and his golden retriever Otto, so he liked to give him a little extra one on one attention. Mr. Adkins, didnât have the energy to throw the ball with Otto anymore, so enter Reese, who would come by twice a week to walk Otto and take him to the park for some fetch. Â
Even by New Yorkâs standards it was a beautiful spring day, Reese whistled to get the dogâs attention and held up a tennis ball, âGo get it bud!â He encouraged as he sent the ball soaring across the park. Otto took off after the yellow tennis ball and Reese prepared for the dog to come barreling into him. Except⌠he didnât, once Otto retrieved the ball, he ran right past Reese and up to the person walking through the park behind them. They must have had food or something, Reese thought as he grabbed Ottoâs leash from his bag and took off after the dog. Â
âDonât worry heâs a friendly dude,â he chuckled once he caught up, before even noticing the familiar face. Â
Rory spotted her brother almost immediately upon entering the park. She was on her skateboard, and he was playing with Ottoâthe dog he frequently walked around town. It was cute, and she thought about snapping a photo for River, but before she could get to her phone, Otto had spotted her. Sliding down the hill, she jumped off the board when she reached the grass, abandoning it in favor of the dog. The ball dropped at her feet, and she kneeled, just in time for Otto to hop onto her knees and attack her face with kisses. In mere seconds, she was covered in dog slobber, eyes closed and laughing as she scratched his neck affectionately. âWeâve met,â she chuckled, poking her face out from behind the dog. âAnd he agrees that Iâm the better twin.â Kissing Ottoâs nose, she smirked up at Reese. âOr maybe youâre not his type.â

Bianca snorted at Roryâs optimism regarding Euryâs return. When their friend left, she had been hoping that sheâd at least return in a months time. But one month turned into two which turned into six (and counting). Bianca didnât judge Eury and Eury didnât judge Bianca- it wasnât their thing. But their thing also wasnât abandonment and Eury had managed to accomplish that with barely any warning. âDonât hold your breath,â she muttered in response.Â
âI guess Iâve never heard you sing so I canât confirm or deny that,â Bianca shrugged. She didnât want to bond with Rory and thatâs what this felt like to her, which only made her throw her jacket and sandals into the duffle faster. But then Rory offered her to stay and she felt trapped- like if she walked out that door sheâd make her feel awful and she really didnât want to be that way. âI guess I have some time to kill⌠But I have a date in an hour so Iâll need to leave relatively soon,â she warned and hesitantly sat on the opposite side of Roryâs photo spread. âIs this for a class or just for fun?â
âHave some faith, B. Sheâs our best friend,â Rory encouraged. Admittedly, she wasnât too fond of sharing, but she wasnât blind. She could see how important Bianca and Eury were to each other, and she truly wanted it to work. âSheâll be back. She has too... Besides, tell me you arenât enjoying bossing me around, even just a little,â she grinned.
When Bianca stopped packing her things, Rory couldnât help but feel like it was a small victory. The hostility between them hadnât made things any easier on Eury, not that it was their fault that she left. They had their problems, but on this one thing, Rory had to consider that they could help each other. âNever? People give me condoms and quarters in Times Square all the time,â she said with a little laugh. âItâs awesome. If youâre ever in a show down there or something...â she trailed off, leaving it at that. The words were still a little awkward to say, so instead, she spread out her things and tried to concoct a workstation that would be productive. âDate, huh?â she asked without looking up. âAnyone I know?â she teased, knowing damn well that it was Griffin. He declined her help months ago, but at least they were getting there. âThis oneâs for fun,â she answered, sifting through the prints. She plucked one she had taken from training and passed it over. âWhaâdâya think?â
Standing on the campus grounds, Eury had never felt more nervous. It had been six months since sheâd last been around, and she guessed that a lot had changed since she left. Her friends would have moved on without her, and her relationships with each of the rangers would probably be strained as hell now that she was back. Part of her considered running away again, and hopping on the next bus out of the city. But she couldnât leave again, she had to be strong. There were people she needed to see, and relationships that she needed to mend â mostly the one with her sister.
Taking a deep breath, she threw her cigarette butt on the grass, and began to walk. Considering that she was a fighter, and sheâd take on anyone who got in her way, she sure felt like a coward right then. At least Tommy and Kat had forgiven her for deciding to bounce. She doubted that the same could be said for the people who relied on her, and expected her to lead. Six months had gone by, and she still hadnât thought of what to say to her teammates, or her family. Sure, sheâd sent the odd text here and there, but that really wasnât much effort, was it?
As she was walking, she wasnât really looking where she was going, due to her mind being so clouded with negative thoughts. Before she knew it, sheâd collided with someone, and had to find her voice in order to apologise. Or maybe she wouldnât. Saying sorry had never really been her thing. Keeping her eyes downcast, she frowned a little and readjusted her bag over her shoulder. âDonât ya know itâs rude to walk into people,â she grumbled.

Things were goodâ at least, she wanted them to be. She was alive, they all were, and the world was still standing. She and Bianca barely had the energy to fight anymore, and she had never had so many clients when it came to freelance photography. Reese was slaying the baseball game too, and he got along well with Sawyer, who despite all odds, had somehow stolen her heart. She even scraped through finals. Things were good.
Almost.
She missed Eury. She missed Eury every day, more and more until she missed her more than she had ever missed anyone: more than she ever believed possible, and not having her here was like a piece of her soul had gone on vacation with no signs of coming back. How had it come to this? Could she have stopped it? Should she have?
She was late to a shoot. It seemed like kids were graduating every day, and Rory was barely keeping up. This time, she had an excuse, but she couldnât really tell the mother of some teenage boy that she was off fighting monsters. Pushing through the crowd, she held her camera bag close and kept her chin ducked, shielding her eyes from the relentless New York sun with only one thing on her mind: just get there.
Rory jolted forward, stumbling out of her reverie, wide-eyed and apologetic. She turned back. âI am so soââ She stopped, words dying in her throat. For a moment, she just stared, unsure if her mind was playing tricks on her. It had done it before, but when the figure did not fade into someone else, she couldnât stop the wide grin from spreading across her face.
âEury?!â She asked, somewhere between astonishment and disbelief. âYou came backâŚâ She breathed. Her eyes began to flood, but she wiped away the tears, wanting to keep her best friend in sight for as long as possible for fear that she might disappear. It ashamed her to admit that she didnât know if she would. Sheâd mulled over it so many nights, when she was alone, and Sawyer was asleep, and it almost tricked her into believing that she wouldnât. She tried to stay positive, for both herself and Bianca, but the simple truth was people left. Why wouldnât she?
Rory hesitated for a fraction of a second until she couldnât contain herself any longer, and she launched at her. Eury was the smaller of the two, but she didnât care. In an instant, her arms were around her, and she jumped up, legs wrapping around her too. âI canât believe youâre finally here,â she all but cried into her hair.

sawycrffs:
Her hometown was something Sawyer never expected to miss, sheâd felt nothing short of trapped the entire time sheâd lived there, by her parents and the standards she was supposed to live up to. The people she didnât miss, but she did miss Montanaâs abundance of nature, living in New York City, wasnât quite the same. To combat that homesickness, she spent a good amount of her free time outside, usually running or training. The park was a perfect place for that, however, she didnât think sheâd run into her girlfriend out there. Noticing the blonde, she tugged one of her earbuds from her ear with a grin as she walked towards her. âI really hope youâre not seriously relying on a mythical creature for help. What are you doing out here?â
Even at a distance Rory could make out the tall, lean frame of her girlfriend, andâas she so often did these daysâ she grinned at the sight of her. As cool as meeting a real-life unicorn would have been, this was somehow better. âJokes on you, babe,â she said, sliding up to her and pecking the corner of her mouth. âYou are the unicorn.âÂ
She giggled at thatâno longer afraid, no longer worriedâ and took her hand into hers, brushing her thumb against its backside and interlocking their fingers like it was the most natural thing in the world; perhaps it was. She forced herself to look away before she said something she shouldnât.
âIâm just running,â she said instead. âYou know, all normal and stuff. Well,â she corrected. ââI was anyway. Before I got lost.â She smirked and cast a sideways glance at her girlfriend, looking at her pointedly. âYou saved me. Again.â Â

âTrumanâs not a dude, itâs the high school that my characterâs a student and athlete at,â Bianca huffed. âAnd besides, you donât need to worry about Euryâs forgiveness because in case you havenât noticed, sheâs gone.â She wasnât in the mood to deal with Rory. It wasnât that she wanted to fight with the girl, it was simply difficult to not be snappy with someone who had a tendency to do whatever they wanted regardless of the rules. A part of Bianca admired that about Rory, though, and so she couldnât justifiably waste energy criticizing it. âWell youâre already in here, so sure,â she resigned. âKicked out though? You mustâve been singing pretty badly,â she said as she busied herself with shoving her belongings back into her pink duffle bag.Â
Rory faltered, not quite expecting the aggression, but recovered quickly. âJeez. Lighten up, B.â She leaned against the door frame. âI kid. Besides, sheâll be back.â She was sure of it. Eury wouldnât abandon them forever. She was just going through some stuff and needed time to sort it all out. As much as she missed her, she understood that... but a small part of herâa very small and persistent partâ feared she was wrong. Still, she wasnât about to let that show.
âThanks.â Rory pushed herself upright and entered the room, the door closing behind her. She sat in the far corner, legs shaped like a V and began unloading her things. âNot badly,â she corrected, pulling out several photographs and scrapbooking supplies. âPeople just donât know good music anymore. Or talent. People hate talent. You of all people know that,â she chuckled, smirking up at her. Her brows furrowed in confusion, however, when she noticed Bianca packing up her things. âYou can stay, you know...â
