thoughts on new alien stage episode+rant about fandom
goodness when i say this fanbase is insufferable
it's so hard to actually be part of the fandom and not be grouped with all the other fans with close to no media literacy what so ever!!!
i think alien stage wasn't necessarily "angst slop" or at least to the degree people were saying it was the premise itself had been set up for many many deaths in the series and none of the deaths could be said to be "unnecessary" because that's just the world they live in, every round one of them HAD to die
i think the only reason it was referred to as "angst slop" was because of the fandom not being able to look at the show surface level, criticism towards alien stage reflects less of the actual content and more of how it's fans interpret it
also forgetting the other reasons why it's so popular!! the art is SO GOOD like unbelievably so!! the animation is amazing and the music, the musiccc, its incredible
the writings not that bad either! i always enjoyed the fact that there wasn't really a "hero" in the main story, that despite how love they had in them it was only ever the abuse and neglect that they were built from that shined through their cracks that they were all just victims in the end just as the aliens intended them to be, and only in dreams or different universes could they be even remotely close to being able to express themselves without it being a direct reflection of their trauma
anyways the new episode was really cool, i loved the designs, mizi will always be the goat
