The road trip called Life
Today, I had a very weird conversation with someone (who I don't really wanna name here). I say weird, because I was totally taken aback by it!
Now, this person is someone who I have known for quite some time and she is by far the most talented, joyful and energetic person I've come across.Â
She does freelance work and is doing quite well for herself, teaches kids singing, learning how to pay the piano, writes fantastic poetry and is loved by almost everyone she meets. Yet, she confessed to me today, that she doesn't think she's fulfilled her potential, and not in a good way!
Nobody I know, does so many things so well! Yet, she doesn't think she's not fulfilling her potential.
The reason behind this 'unhappiness' is that she's been comparing herself to her friends, from school, college and IIM who have chosen to concentrate on their careers while she chose to focus on her life.
I guess this is a classic case of the grass being greener on the other side, or rather, appearing to be greener.
To know and understand the definition of success is so important! And by success, I mean your own success. Its like they say, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.
Live, love and enjoy! Isn't that the point of life?
