AGE OF DESIGN X IKEA
Space10 is a future living lab and exhibition space set up in a former fish distribution warehouse in the centre of Danish capital Copenhagen.
The lab was made possible by Inter IKEA Systems, but initiated, designed and run by Carla Cammilla Hjort, Simon Caspersen, Kaave Pour and Guillaume Charny-Brunet from the creative studio Rebel Agency, which is also behind the creative platform ArtRebels and the music, art and technology festival Trailerpark Festival.
The space investigates how life in the rapidly growing cities could look like in the future. It looks at what major challenges will impact people on a global scale and then tries to find solutions to these, working with an ever-growing community of designers, artists, technologists, makers and creatives from around the world.

Nick here again with another kickstarter find. Today this find particularly interest me, as I am a skateboarder myself and see the potential behind this product. Pivot is an open source, motion tracking, Arduino based board that when attached to your skateboard can track foot placement and board rotation. Being open source and able to connect to mobile devices, the possibilities for practical and fun applications for skateboarders are endless. The idea that I could play a game of S.K.A.T.E with my friend in Kansas, or share that I finally mastered the Kickflip with a network of friends is just the beginning. The Uzo Method at a Community Based Resource Center for PMAD
From December of 2011 through March of 2013, women who were diagnosed with or at risk for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMAD) were offered an Uzo Method dance intervention.
There were 54 dance interventions provided for 28 unique participants. Participants were asked to rate their stress and energy on a 5 point scale both before and after the intervention

While studying for his PhD in physics, Uri Alon thought he was a failure because all his research paths led to dead ends. But, with the help of improv theater, he came to realize that there could be joy in getting lost. A call for scientists to stop thinking of research as a direct line from question to answer, but as something more creative. It's a message that will resonate, no matter what your field.
