Anakin became evil because he coveted his wife like an object and was more concerned with not "losing" her than what she would want. The Dark Side was a means to an end.

Fascism didn't spawn from the deepest bowels of the Force, it was created by people.

The ones who embraced the Dark Side have always been the ones trying to take over the galaxy.

Palpatine was a career politician who took over the galaxy without actually using the Dark Side at all.

Or did you forget the most raw, powerful line in the entire franchise?

Without the corruption of the Senate, a body overwhelmingly NOT Force Sensitive, the Empire would not exist. Furthermore, plenty of people who don't use the Dark Side have tried to take over the galaxy. The Vong, Zakuul, the Hutts have made more than one attempt, and the leaders of the Separatists were largely blind to the Force as well.

You're scapegoating the Force for human failings.

A single conversation about "power" in a video game doesn't mean the Sith are the good guys now.

My point has always been that the Sith, being an organization and therefore largely subjected to the beliefs of the people in them, can be whatever a writer wants them to be. Unfortuntely you seem to think that the Sith were literally spawned from the Force and are under the edict of a sentient Dark Side.

In fact, violent and fascist regimes appropriating religious symbols of other cultures and stapling them onto their blood-soaked flags are a very VERY real thing.

That anon who kept bringing up Tumblr posts from David Gaider as if they mattered is an example of someone in the Star Wars fandom called "Pro Jedi Order." A subset of Star Wars fans who hate any criticism of the Jedi, and rigidly want the story to be a black and white, good vs evil narrative where the Jedi are the unquestioned good guys.

They have generally always been aggressive, because Star Wars has never actually operated on this wavelength despite claims otherwise. Even in the OT, Luke is throwing around Dark Side force powers and proving his Jedi Masters wrong when he pulls Vader back to the Light.

It's similar to Paladin players in WoW who want the Paladins to be the unquestioned good guys, but NOT by doing actual good, but by being justified in murdering everyone they deem deviant.

The idea that the Jedi Order is a flawed Order, that the Sith criticisms of the Jedi are not unilaterally false, and that the Jedi philosophy can easily lead to doing terrible things gets in the way of their fantasy of being a Jedi and going to the Temple.

Because Lestat believed Louis never loved him. The book made Lestat believe that Louis despised him and, according to Sam, it made Lestat feel like a foolish idiot for ever seeing his relationship with Louis as love, because of course Louis could never love the likes of him. It wasn't until Lestat was able to recontextualize everything at the long table after the events of Episode 6 that he realized yes, Louis had actually always loved him.

The show could've done a better job conveying that, imo. The damage to Lestat from the book wasn't made clear enough, but it was there. As I said, it made Lestat feel like everything he'd always felt about their love story was a lie, and he says it to himself at the long table —

He waited for Louis for decades. He sits on a bench like a stupid idiot in a fog he mistakes for love. That's how Lestat saw it. He was a "stupid idiot" for ever thinking it was love. He was foolish for ever believing Louis could love him.
