When Grace looks at the stars he sees endless life, when Simon looks at the stars he sees the death of everything. When Grace was born all he knew was Earth, when Simon was born all he knew was space. Grace wears strong colors and silly patterns, Simon wears the same plain clothes given to him as a boy. Grace uses humor to protect himself, Simon uses detachment and anger. Grace loves humanity despite being a coward, Simon has barely ever seen humanity. Both have strong guilt, both have no family, both feel like failures. Grace is connected to the sun and Simon is connected to the moon.
