My Splatfests posts in order, the first one I didn’t know I could use the D-pad to help clean up some stray pixels so I just used my finger (please excuse the mess)
Splatoon 2′s First Splatfest! Rock vs Pop ( JP ) and Cake vs Ice cream! Unfortunately I was on the losing team for both countries ( pop and cake ) but I had a blast. It felt so nice to do a splatfest after two years and I can’t wait for the game’s official release next week!

I really wanted to do a picture for this one because me and all my friends work nightshift except for one (which is momo) so this was a good comparison. Not only that but Night owl is severely over staffed for this splatfest, much like the other splatfests, early birds will probably win but im all for Night owls!
Splatoon has officially been out for a year now (technically on May 29th, this post is a little late) and this is my contribution to it's anniversary. I thought the concept was pretty stupid when it first came out but honestly this game will stick with me forever. I bought a wiiU specifically to play it because a lot of my tumblr friends looked like they were having so much fun and all the art that came from this fandom inspired me to draw more often and break through my comfort zone with colors. The game itself put a new spin on shooter games in general with it's creative weapons and lack of mic communication. You're forced to tune yourself to the needs of others and come up with strategies that are good for your team instead of yourself. The game is based on how much turf you've covered with your ink and not how many kills you racked up and your teams switch every round even if you play with the same people so it's hard to hold grudges. There are no stats and the levels don't matter, you play based on skill alone and everything is fair. It's won several awards and nominated for many others. Its a game a 10 year old and a 50 year old can play together and both can have the same amount of fun. Splatfests always had me pumped and I even decided to make Fridays my day off work so I would have time to get the highest rank. This game really gave me something to look foward to and I can't thank nintendo enough for giving a concept like this a shot. It's become wildly successful and I hope they continue adding to the game and people keep playing it. They're adding 5 new amiibos and DLC for new weapons and combos soon. I honestly can't wait!
I finally got around to drawing my friends and I's Splatoon characters! You'll be seeing more of these guys. A little about these guys Drekford only has 1 usable eye and has sort of a god complex. He gets very competitve and considers himself a great shot and anyone who says otherwise is dead to him. He uses the E-liter 3K Scope and wears captain gear. Layanna is more of a goofball on the field than really a team player. She'll put sprinklers in troublesome places and inkstrike in places that are more annoying to clean up than are really practical. Shes also that one who will inkstrike in the last second, pushing the points just enough so her team wins. She uses the N-ZAP '89 Loctane has a short complex and gets annoyed with people taller than her (unfortunately everyone is taller than her) when she meets anyone shorter she automatically assigns herself the role of senpai and acts like shes the greatest player everyones ever known. Shes A rank but too scared to lose it so she only really plays for fun or splatfest when it comes around. She uses the Luna Blaster because it gets a bad rap for its short range but its perfect for her. It's also a cheap tatic when it comes to Tower Control which is probably why shes A rank in the first place. Momo doesn't give a shit about anything until you splat him. Hes very vindictive and is actually the most useful member of the team. His gear is completely full of Special Charge Up so he shoots off inkstrikes like hes fighting in a nuclear war. He uses the Aerospray RG and covers everything, even the walls in Ink. Kat perfers to watch more than participate but when she does she wants to be the best. She hides in odd places to try and get the upper hand on the other team but shes not the best aim. She uses the Splatterscope and likes the bombs more than the actual weapon. Her gear is full of sub saver so that she can use more bombs when people get close.
