Ai will be, and Shiho is, an alpha. And (pre-)heats do not make for clear-headed behavior. But sometimes they do make for happy little accidents that lead to much more fun in the future. Plus, Ai's a pred, and Conan discovers just how close that allows him to be with somebody he cares about.

Anyway actually decided that it's easier to manage if I don't post the individual fics, and instead link to the series of all 4.

This was mostly just an experiment to kind of get back into writing after a 3 year block and to mess around a little with omegaverse and cobbling together bits and pieces of other stuff I've read that I liked. It's self-indulgent to the max without regard for much else as a result. Finally decided to get around to linking it officially here.

The first thing Shiho notices as she wakes up is heat: warm and gentle against her back, wrapped in a soft band around her body.  She smiles, a little, waking up enough to recognize it as Shinichi, holding her from behind as he sleeps.  Tucked safe in his arms like this has quickly become the most comfortable way to rest, and her nightmares leave her alone under the protection of her detective.

I had a few ways I thought of approaching this, but this seemed most fun~ (I managed to not pick the tragedy route lol)

At first, Ai had found it unsettling and disturbing to see herself in the mirror, her reflection showing a face she hadn’t seen in a decade.  Then, over time, she became accustomed to the sight.  Especially as more and more the face that looked back lacked as much haunting as her first childhood self had borne.

Now, Shiho catches sight of herself for the first time since taking the antidote, and finds it unsettling again.

Sherry no longer looks back at her.  Haibara Ai doesn’t, either.

At first, Ai wondered where a detective got such a flare for the dramatic.  Kudou-kun seemed to have perfected the art of tilting his glasses to hide his eyes, and picked his words and cadence to wind everyone up before revealing his deductions.

Having met his parents, for a while she thought it was how he was raised.  It seemed the most logical idea at the time.

Sequel to “Of Dreams and Deities”

Ended up combining a few elements of things that I didn’t have a clear story for with the ideas I had for a possible follow-up, and gave her a happy ending.

Some elements, such as ages, are deliberately left vague so you can just imagine whatever makes you feel most comfy for the most part.  TBH, mostly rated M to be safe, I think it could probably skate by with a T due to the fact that everything is implied…

I was very desperate to get something out before the year’s end, so I ended up breaking each section into a chapter so I could toss what I have up.

Anyway, been having a blast writing this even if one specific part was a major headache.  ONaE will get the next chapter next year (:p), I just had this plot bunny that wouldn’t leave me alone so…

I did this because I don’t like being cold and I was sad that I wasn’t able to stay in my cozy, warm bed endlessly and had to actually get up and be cold.

I really do promise to write something normal for them one of these days, and this could have so easily been a normal “cuddle for warmth” fic but.  I didn’t wanna, so here we are.
