Mini-Me Final
The final for the mini me, I think it turned out well.
Green Screen photos
Once I finished painting my mini me and its mouths I finally took it to the photography room the take photos of them so I can easily key out the background for the video
Mini-Me Construction
I decided for my mini me I’d make it out of paper since the artist I’m taking inspiration from mostly works with water colours, I’m actually quite happy with how it’s turning out
Nursery Brief: Turn arounds and what not
I did the turnarounds and the lineup for our main characters. I had taken Teghan's crocodile design and did the turnaround for her working with Teghan to make sure the design was accurate.
Micheal worked on sticker sheets and the design of the boat. He mimicked the design of a nest for the boat and also used his expression sheet to help in the creation of the sticker sheet. The sticker sheet turned out super cute.
Both Teghan and Ada worked on master shots, Teghan's the bottom two and Ada the top one. They all turned our really well and gives a good ideas as to what the final product would've been.
[ada]
Ada compiled all our storyboards and translated them all into her style and edited them all together while working with Teghan for the musical aspect of the animatic.
Jamie did some background characters and also did a short animation based off of Ada's Storyboards, She referenced Micheal's expression sheet and my turnaround sheet for this short animation.

Trip to fota :)
We went out to Fota and drew some animals. It was nice and really warm
Micheal bought a disgusting creature and Gar brought their guy. It was really warm like really warm.
Vex :).
Nursery Brief: Clothes
Today we mostly worked seperately, I started working on clothes designs for our protagonist the Crow, I took Yvonnes suggestion of looking into natural dyes. I also looked into blogs about Iron Age clothing.
I made 4 variations of the clothing, we ended up choosing the last one for the clothing.
-
Micheal did background studies to get a feel for the root art style and mostly worked with inks.
Teghan worked on redesigning the antagonist and first did a complete redesign using the irish myth of the Dobhar-Chú, Teghan ended up merging the both that and their croc design. They also darkened the design a bit more to fit with the color pallet that we were going with.
Ada worked on taking all our storyboards and compiling them all into one cohesive style.

Nursery Brief: Additional Character Concepts
we decided to pivot in the stylisation of the characters and decided to go in a more anthropomorphic route in instead of just have one character be an animal we decided to make the Merchant a crow based off the style of the table top game root.
For my design of the crow I decided to take both a bit from Root but also from the style of night in the woods.
Nursery Brief: Collective Storyboard
We worked together on doing up storyboards and put them in order on the wall. We're thinking about reordering the storyboards to make for a more consise story rather than the disjointed trailer style we were originally going for.
Below are the close ups
Nursery Brief: Scripting and storyboard ideas
as a group we started to script out the general story and decided on rather than doing a pilot we decided to do a trailer instead. We started writing out a general storyline and Ada assigned us sections to do for the storyboard and we also mapped out how long each section should take.
I was doing the chase section of the trailer and began with some very rough ideas and discussed with the team before continuing.
I began on the second rough of the storyboard and gave them to a few of my friends to make sure that they are readable enough and found that some of them had trouble reading some of the panels.
(picture)
I redid the panels to try and make them more readable and decided to try and experiment with more interesting camera angles. I plan to meet up with my group again just to make sure they were happy with my panels or to see if anyone has any ideas for the scenes

Nursery Brief: Wall
Storytelling Brief
so for the new brief we’re back in our groups again. For this we are given a Nursery Rhyme, time period and genre to create a story and to pitch our idea.
what we had gotten was Row Row Row your boat, Iron Age and Musical
We had came up with the idea of a traveling merchant who was basically a not so good fella in life being chased by the personification of death who is an alligator as we related that back to the Egyptian goddess Ammit as she is the god of Divine retribution.
And as he was a merchant we thought it would be cool to take from other cultures and what not. Above is what we had done as a group.
What I had looked into was specifically for the Qing Dynasty and artist from it as I wanted to start getting ideas down for that as it was one of the places we had down. I took a particular interest in Bian Shoumin’s work
I quite enjoy how he uses his inks and how light he gets with them. I also quite enjoy the muted colours and how selective he is with them as often enough there would only be a small splash asides from his signature stamp.
Nature studies
In the morning we visited people’s park and I decided challenge myself and try and stick too mostly watercolours and my chisel tip fine liner as tend to lean away from using colours.
I actually forgot to take photos so erm! I’ll come back and edit this later yuppa
Pixelation: Video
Here is the final video
Editing woah
Animation Discipline: Pixelation
Once we got assigned our groups we all started brain storming ideas of what to do for our animation. We settled on the idea of the Tantalus and looked for locations.
we ended up settling on shooting in the markeet

Movement: Short Sketchbook Tour
I mostly only used this sketchbook to map out my ideas for animation and that's about it. I found it helpful to have all my stuff in one placer and I should have done it sooner for all off my electives.
Movement: Artist Statement
For the movement project I focused on fencing and the movement within it. My chosen electives for the 7 weeks were Graphic Design, Printmaking and Animation and motion design.
For the research week and the first week I did graphic design and found difficultly in feeling inspired and felt kinda stuck for those weeks and was really unsure of how to interact with graphic design within the confines of fencing although I did learn how to make patterns in adobe illustrator which was nice.
I then spent 2 weeks doing print before coming back to graphic design and after doing some artist research had some ideas for posters that I wanted to tie in with graphic design. I made some cyanotypes with them and wanted to do some screen prints with them but ended up not having enough time to do that.
The printing elective really helped me get out ideas for this project and I wished I did it sooner but I'm quite happy with how all the prints turned out even though I didn't end up using them. I enjoyed the process of screen print but as I mentioned in the reflection it was quite slow and messy.
For my final 2 weeks I did animation and I found the elective to be a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be and speaking to the lectures lent me a lot more insights into the course. I learnt how to use premier pro and adobe animate which I found to be really enjoyable to use.
The electives definitely gave me a better insight into the disciplines and definitely did help me figure out what course I should go for as I found that what I wanted was more in animation rather than graphic design or printmaking.
