ever since being told that, oliver did research on ADHD, A LOT of research so he could continue to accurately portray buck as someone with ADHD.

What Ryan said years ago is disgusting and something that is and never will be okay. You know what though? It is not within my power as a non-black person to forgive him or not, and that is something I’ve never even attempted to do on my page. It’s clear though that he and the cast members have reconciled and moved past it in their personal lives. And that’s what it is, personal.

A certain other actor, on the other hand, is not discussing racism and misogyny in his personal life. No, he is taking specific instances of what we know to be discrimination and excusing it while also minimizing the impacts it has. I don’t care if that’s his personal headcanon. The show, years ago when these scenes took place, made it clear that that was what it was - workplace discrimination that was only taken seriously after 90% of the 118 was overhauled. And no, it wasn’t a deep fake. That’s a sorry excuse and one that is easily disproved by simply watching the video 😉

Also, since we’re bringing Ryan into this, I don’t see him taking money from anyone to excuse his previous actions or to retcon his characters actions and motivations.
