don't let him in, don't be his friend

“ oh yeah, you have potential. not that it’ll ever amount to anything. you’re just too lovable —— even with a black eye “ he laughed at his friend, before shaking his head. “ wait… you actually read those things ? but what can i say, i’m a good looking guy “ he winked towards his friend, before laughing slightly once more. 

There was nothing wrong with some friendly banter now and then, and fortunately, Hakim seemed to agree. No wonder he had quickly become one of Jaxon's favorite people on the cast. That, and, well, he was one of the few actually capable of putting up with Jaxon's shti. "Yes, I read those things. I'm vain and I'd very much like to know if people approve of my haircut," he replied, nodding his head seriously. It was his only concern. "Unfortunately, no one ever talks about me. This is why I'm all about stirring up some drama."

“ oh yeah ? you as a bad guy ? ” hakim couldn’t help but laugh. sure, jax wasn’t always the nicest person, but his airhead ways kept hakim from thinking the other could stir up too much trouble. “ aww, you think i’m pretty ? ” he spoke in a faux flattered manner, before laughing again. “ but yeah, sure. you can say all the shady shit you can come up with, as long as we go out for a cold one after ”

Of course, Hakim would find a way to mess with him, that was nothing new. However, Jax enjoyed hanging out with the guy, so he didn't mind. He'll pretend that he is, just to keep up appearances. "First of all, excuse me, but I have the potential of being the baddest- the worst person in this show. That's where the black eye comes in handy," he insisted, slightly raising the voice. "And second of all, I'm pretty sure the fans have like... weekly quizzes on who's the prettiest person in the show. And you win every single time."

“they’ll agree because they need the ratings otherwise they’ll all be out of jobs,” she shrugged, the boy suddenly catching her attention at the second half of his words. she knew she wouldn’t be the only one causing problems this season and well, she wouldn’t mind a few rehearsed fights. “well, depends how major you wanna go. though if you’re looking for something constant, i’d be more than happy to cause a scene whenever i see you and throw my drink in your face every now and then. i’ll throw in a slap for the dramatics but only if you can take it.”

"i'm pretty sure they can achieve ratings in another way. for instance, by making the biggest rebel go after the nicest sweetheart, i'm pretty sure that always gets the audiences thrilled," jaxon mused, absentmindedly chewing on a pencil whilst a hundred different scenarios raced through his mind. "however, getting into some kind of drama would surely give more screentime to us? i'm willing to make the sacrifice and get slapped by you."

“i absolutely fucking would. maybe i’ll make a comment about your stupid haircut —  i’ve been holding back— and you’ll go ballistic.” benji held his hands up like he was framing a shot, squinting one eye to look through his fingers. “it’ll trend on twitter, for sure.”

"my stupid -what?" jaxon let out a dramatic gasp, immediately clutching at his chest. sure, you may call him ugly, or say he has an unpleasant mug, but insulting his hair? that would not be tolerated. "if you ever say that again, you're about to catch these hands," he exclaimed, theatrically throwing his fists in an attack position.

“ dude, i’ll do it, but only if i’m allowed to scar your pretty face with a black eye and we can grab a beer afterwards “ he laughed before raising and dropping his brows expectantly. they both tended to get into trouble, which was probably why they’d gravitated towards each other in the short period of time hakim had been in jervis bay. 

"A black eye, huh? Hey, that doesn't sound quite bad," Jaxon contemplated, resting his chin in his palm. "I mean, that would frame me as a bad guy, right? And that's a character angle I'm looking to achieve," he said, letting out a small chuckle. "What do I get out of this, huh? Can I at least say something shady, like, You're not as pretty as everyone thinks you are, Hakim?"

‘ i love drama as much as the next person around here, but i’m one-hundred percent not the right gal for this job. my fan base is pretty stable and i’m not sure if you want that on your ass right now, let alone you’re one of the few people i can tolerate most of the time and i don’t want to fuck that up. ’

"Oh? Do you think I'd become the target of your loyal supporters, is that it?" Jaxon inquired, eyeing his friend with a wide grin. "What if that's exactly what I want, though. To throw myself in a ditch and see how long it takes for me to get out . That might be fun for the show."
