A heads up for anybody that has read my stuff on AO3, Iām locking my fics now.
I know that my works are ultimately a drop in the ocean of stolen works and Iām extremely conflicted about locking out anybody without an account, but I genuinely feel sick. This sucks. I didnāt think Iād have to worry about AI and I donāt feel like my writing style would help train a model, but thinking about other writersā works being blatantly stolen and plagiarized makes me shake.
My first ever AO3 fic was so special to me. I registered an account to follow the author and provide an extra kudos. I hate that fic-locking might block someone from reading and the sense of joy that it provides. Iām sorry.
If you donāt wantāor canāt for some reasonā to register an account on AO3 but want to read my fics anyway, message me. Iāll provide you some way to read what Iāve written, even if I have to hand-write it or ask someone to translate it and then mail it to you.
