I would like to talk about the insane amount of parts a cat has in this movie.

1.) Obviously, the cat dies from an overdose.

2.) The corporation that makes the One Wish Willow is called Tabi Cat.

3.) Nikki mentions her cat dying (even if it’s really Barron’s)

4.) Nikki makes a memorial for the cat.

5.) Nikki cooks the cat.

6.) Nikki brings flowers for the cat.

7.) Barron dies overdosing on the same pills the cat did, falling in the same position and everything.

You might be wondering, “Lily, why does it matter how many times the cat was mentioned? It’s just a recurring gag.”

Well… I think not.

I have this theory that the cat stands for the full cycle throughout the movie, showing that “curiosity killed the cat.”
