i LOVE watching clips from high school productions on youtube. geeky high school thespians are my favorite people on this earth
leading lady who’s been taking voice lessons since she was 7 vs leading man who got the role because he showed up. girl in chorus who is 100% convinced she could be on broadway right now if she had the right connections (she could not). autistic girl who is clearly the most talented one in the cast but the director definitely thought she was too weird to believably play the female lead. gay teenage boy trying to play a ladies’ man. jock who auditioned as a joke but got in and now his mom won’t let him quit so he’s ready to kill himself at any moment. this is the funniest combination of people you will ever see in your life.
hey sorry your boyfriend fell into the public library book donation bin. yeah he’s being used to fund vital community programs and support services. yeah beanbag chairs too. if you pay your overdue fines we’ll give him back though
Watching Home Alone is so funny it’s like
Kevin’s mom: *hyperventilating into a paper bag* I can’t believe I left my son home alone, he has to be so terrified, my poor baby boy all alone I need to go get him-
Kevin: *actively planning to commit war crimes*
There are, at every turn, adults trying to help Kevin. He is not trapped in that house, he goes shopping like three times. He convinces the pizza delivery guy that there’s an old guy there trying to murder him. Kevin knows exactly what the fuck he’s doing and what he is doing is psychological warfare
Petition to make Home Alone a PG-13 movie at LEAST so the Wet Bandits can call Kevin a little shit on-screen
Actually no. Rated R. I want to watch Kevin kill a man
It started out as a random burglary but the SECOND Kevin shot that dude in the dick it became personal
I just realized that like. Until the end of the movie Kevin never figured out his family straight up forgot him at home. He truly thought he had fucking magicked them away with his wish that night and that he had magic powers. No wonder the kid was so full of hubris with those robbers he had the power of God and Santa on his side
Okay movie’s over. I have unironically and genuinely come to the conclusion that Kevin is a child prodigy and will possibly the most intelligent person on the planet once he’s full grown. Not only is he able to outsmart the Wet Bandits (great name), he outmaneuvers the police, shoplifts at least once, and rigs up multiple contraptions including a fake house party, a get-chickened fan+feather combo, and a homemade door-activated flamethrower. He does this all while convincing everybody that he’s just a tiny helpless kid.
In fact, at the beginning of the movie, Kevin has his entire extended family convinced he’s so helpless he can’t even pack a suitcase. I bet him attacking Bud and getting sent to his room early was a ploy to keep from having to share the bed with his bed-wetting cousin. At the end of the movie, one of his cousins says something like “Kevin went shopping? He can’t even tie his shoelaces!” This kid is playing his entire family like puppets and they have no idea
Like hell it does, that is reads like a 6k post at best. There’s no bit, no clown to gang up on. This post plays into the website’s deep appreciation of Kevin McAllister and his sadism but that can only take us so far. Study tumblr theory and come back to be the clown this post will ride to 40k if you truly want to bring us to victory. And also me to deep shame for having a viral post about Kevin fucking McAllister
Watching you suspiciously. Have I made myself the clown of the post again I cannot be three for three on this dude
Hey what are you doing. Hey.
Spent today taking photos & testing a new photoediting workflow & experiencing photoediting woes soothed only by how charming all of these fellows are

I know that we've all decided Hamilton is cringe but have you considered that they are trying to do the unimaginable that being forgiveness it's unimaginable and yet it's happening here and now
CONSIDER:
after “Burn” a powerful song about feminine weaponized indifference i.e. “because you hurt me I am going to erase the fact that we ever loved each other from history”, the story turns around and gives us “It’s Quiet Uptown” which says in the face of the pain that overwhelms us beyond choosing, there is an unimaginable moment of grace which is extended between the person who is hurt and the one who hurt us, that forgiveness isn’t another accomplishment that can be girlbossified, because it is always a grace, so that the hurt is beyond all imagining but the forgiveness even more so
Moana navigates the treacherous waters and rocks when Maui couldn’t, she surpasses him in skill and does what he wasn’t brave enough to do—but it isn’t her skill that wins the day! she doesn’t succeed because she is strong and brave enough to defeat the enemy, but because she is compassionate enough to look into her enemy’s eyes and say “they have stolen the heart from inside you—but this does not define you. this is not who you are. you know who you are.” she trusts and loves the monster before the monster is trustworthy or lovable. she extends grace in the middle of a fight, seeing that the violence that has hurt her and poisoned the home she loves comes from a place of hurt itself.
and in Encanto, Mirabelle has compassion for the hurt which caused her grandmother to hurt her so deeply! it would have been easy to run away from their broken home, to shake the dust off her feet and say they never loved her for who she was and they don’t deserve forgiveness—but she recognizes that this hurt can only be healed by forgiveness, by more love not less!
in all these stories there is a moment where the traditional ending of success or vindication is presented to us, an ending that’s about who has more power. would it be enough for Eliza to beat Hamilton at his own game, destroying the legacy of his humanity? would it be enough for Moana to confidently sail between the rocks and defeat the monster? would it be enough for Mirabelle to be proven right and set free? and every time the answer is “well, maybe it would be enough. but in the vast generosity of grace, there is more.”
anyway lin manuel miranda is a little valid actually
what the fuck
these seriously feel like they were taken in a different dimension

“i don’t need a list, i'll remember what i need. it’s four things. no need to write it down” thats the DEVIL SPEAKING!!!!!
This is why capitalists benefit from parenting styles that involve "it's okay for me to do it but disrespectful if you do it". Children raised like that grow into adults who sit back and accept corporations only caring about profit but believing it's selfish for an employee to only care about getting paid.

Many billionaires have promised this, and mysteriously none of them have actually "given away" enough to keep their coffers from refilling infinitely like clockwork. Charity is a scam. These people need their wealth seized and redistributed, and they don't get to have any say in how that money's used.

wow millennials are glued to their i-phones and laptops so much they cant even be bothered robbing in person anymore!!! maybe these trust fund babies should stop phishing credit cards while sitting on their butts and go out there and put some elbow grease into their thievery!
I know exactly what happened. Because it happened to me.
I trained for years to be a con artist. I told my friends and family that I wanted to be a magician, but that was just a cover for why I was constantly practicing sleight of hand.
In junior high and high school, I would shop lift a bunch of candy on my way to school, sell it to kids at the morning break, and use that money to run a crooked poker game at lunch.
Finally, when I was 19 or 20, I felt I was ready, and I picked my first pocket. I was on the bus, bumped a guy as I passed down the aisle, got his wallet, super clean.
In the wallet was several hundred dollars. A huge first score, I had been hoping for a couple twenties. I sat there looking at the, like, 400 bucks, thinking.
That was my rent at the time. We were both on the bus. It was likely his rent too. Lord knows the only reason to carry that much cash on the bus is you’re on your way to pay a bill. We were both on the bus, you know? That’s not someone I was comfortable stealing from.
I tapped him on the shoulder and told him “hey i think you dropped this” and gave it back to him with all the money still in it. It was the first and last time I ever picked a pocket.
Picking a rich person’s pocket is a loosing game. They probably have credit cards and not cash, those credit cards probably have the best anti-theft measures their bank can provide, and you probably can’t get close enough to those people to pick their pockets unless you’re already rich yourself.
The people who’s pockets you can reliably pick are the people around you. The people who are also on the bus, who are in this same shitty situation with you.
As wealth inequality becomes more drastic picking pockets has very clearly become “stealing from other poor people” and it’s not satisfying. I want to steal from Google and Apple and Fox and Facebook and General Mills and Hershey and Tesla. Not the person next to me.
i’m obsessed with this painting called tomato king and i’m even more obsessed with the man who drew it. his name is stuart dunkel and he is a classical oboeist and he also paints tiny little oil paintings of mice living their best lives. he looks like this.
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
