Why do you assume it’s misinformation?

This is actually an incredibly serious question. All one has to do is watch video of the event, where you can see AOC holding her arms behind her back, occasionally separating them to hold a fist up, to note that this is, in fact, exactly what she was doing.

And one doesn’t have to go back very far to find other situations where she postured for the cameras, ensuring that there would be photos of her that made her look more important, dramatic, tragic or touched by various situations than an accurate view of the situation would have justified. Hell, one only has to go back to the Trump administration and her posturing and crying at the fence to a ‘detainment center’ which, when looked at from the non-photogenic angle, was her staring at an empty parking lot outside of a generic building.

Still the detention center, but there was nothing for her to react dramatically TO, aside from the existence of said building.

So. We arc back to the beginning, and the question.

Why is it, that when the only people who show you details of your favorite politicians being fake about their personas, agendas and behavior are ones who are not in lock-step with your politics…

Why do you assume AOC is my favorite politician, or someone I even care about as a person just because I question the authenticity of a Sinclair-owned news site?

I believe it’s misinformation, or at least sensationalized information, because Sinclair has a tendency to spread misinformation and take things out of context to spin a story to drum up outrage.

For example, police officers don’t have to handcuff you to place you under arrest, so what does it even matter if she’s handcuffed or not? She’s still under arrest.

That’s… A very generous position to have towards AOC. Now, I’ve been a democrat for decades now, and I’m a full adult worried about pensions and retirement at this point, so this is my grain of salt but…

Everything I’ve seen from AOC is her displaying bit attempts for personal attention and power grabs. She advocates for change, but centered around getting her section of the party to unseat other democrats and just seize power within the system.

And I am old enough to look at that and note that ‘I will sabotage my allies to try and get my friends in their spots, but demand solidarity against anything else’ is not the view of someone who wants change.

So yeah, that’s why I state your position is one of favoritism, even if AOC herself might not be your ‘favorite’, does that make sense?

Second: So, your position is that, while she may be attempting to posture for the cameras, make herself look more dramatic and sympathetic, and putting herself forward with a false front…

So: On the official statement, AOC was not arrested, but detained. The specifics between those two is that if you’re arrested, you have to be taken in, put into a cell, and await a judge to review your case.

Detained, she was just given a ticket and free to go talk to the reporters after being dramatic about it.

I will however note that it’s been about an hour since I made this reply and I still haven’t heard anything back yet.

Just kind of ignoring the part where she’s blatantly pretending to be handcuffed, huh?

If you are acting in good faith, you must have serious vision problems, or be rather self-deluded. 

I also like how you put all this effort into attacking the people who criticized her, without actually addressing their main point even once. You just slapped a label on it, and then played dumb.
