You stood up from between his legs.
“I can’t sleep over… Clara can’t …”
“It’s okay, don't worry.” He stood up, looking down at you he brushed your hair over your shoulder, kissing you on the side of your neck slowly. You opened your eyes wide, shocked.
You closed your eyes and pathetically gave into his touch. His hand gently gripped your neck, softly, just wrapping his fingers around the back. You breathed heavily, biting your lip longingly.
By the intensity of his kiss you knew he was leaving hickeys. You wouldn’t dare to stop him. Your hand found the back of his head, your fingers going up his head feeding through the strands of his thick soft dirty blonde hair. He came up for air, his lips red and puffy, his eyes drunk. He grabbed your waist, pulling you in where you could feel him, feel it. You moaned lightly at the feeling of him kissing you on the lips now, when he pulled back at your sound. He stopped himself as if something was about to take over him, something he couldn’t control.
You stared at him in desperation, but you were scared what would happen if you didn’t stop.
“I know… I’m sorry… I don’t know-“ *He panted * “I don’t know what came over me.”
You stood staring up at him as he licked his lips.
“I should go to Clara’s room.” His hands were glued to your waist and it didn’t seem like he planned on letting go.
He wasn’t moving an inch, he wasn’t smiling either. Just staring into your eyes. His soft sensitive eyes were slowly going back to normal, he no longer seemed emotional and weak, he looked hungry and delirious.
You attempted to pull his hands off, he didn't move.
“James.” You laugh lightly but your anxiety is slightly rising.
You feel afraid, unsure what he’s trying at.
He leans down and whispers in your ear.
“You’re just gonna leave me?” Pulling your hair back resting his hand on the back of your neck, the other slides up your back, his nails slightly scratching you.
It was late and you knew he was just horny now.
“James… no.” You slowly started to remember the boy that kissed you in the hallway without asking. The one who hit the wall five seconds later out of anger. The one who fought Juhoon mercilessly over a few words. You were slowly remembering the real James.
Were all of those tears just a ploy?
“Baby please…” Your brain went foggy at those words, making you immediately feel it in your womanhood. Your heart sank and you knew you were done for. You exhaled in longing desperation, he knew exactly what he was doing to you.
You two were alike in that way though, you both had egos, and you weren’t going to be another girl that just gave into him.
“James I said no.” Your voice was now at a normal pitch. Deep and full.
He picked his head up and his hands slowly slipped off your body. He walked over to his bed flopping down on his back.
He looked like he was waiting for you to join him.
You looked down at him. It would be so easy to give in, but it can’t happen like this.
You turn around emotionlessly, even though your brain held a tornado of thoughts.
You close the door behind you carefully and quietly.
“What the fuck.” The words make you look up quickly, gasping loudly.
It was Clara, she was walking up the steps one foot still on the last step when she saw you, a glass of water in her hand.
“What… no… wait no… oh my god.” She stammered, turning around to go into her room.
“Clara!” You quickly followed after her. You both entered the room and you closed the door afterwards not wanting James to hear.
You knew you would have to lie to her.
“Y/n… what is going on?.”
“Look, my mom kicked me ou-.”
“Oh my god are you okay?”
“Yes i’m- that’s not the point. I came here to ask you to stay over… but he answered the door and he just looked like he needed someo-.” The words were spilling out at a rapid speed.
“no no nothing happened I swear we just-”
“Yes! nothing happened.” You sat down next to her, she was looking forward in shock. Then she turned to you with a concerned look, grabbing your hands.
“Y/n I’m telling you this right now and I know… I know for a fact it won’t be the last time. James is not- I mean for a fact, not a good guy. Please… y/n, and you know why I say this? Because it’s happened before with two of my friends. Two!” She was almost yelling at this point.
“He lures you in with some emotional bullshit… you have sex and then bam! he never speaks to you again.”
You now stare forward, conflicted. She knows him more than anyone… god how could I be so stupid. Nothing happened yet so I could still get out of this. She looked at you, turning her head to meet your eyes.
“Y/n… are you sure nothing happened? You can tell me.”
“Yes.” You immediately answer before she can finish the sentence.
“Nothing happened.” You put your hands up motioning them flat, signaling the end of the conversation.”
“I just… I just want to go to bed okay?” You look at her with a slight smile.
“Okay yea…” She sits back and arranges the pillows so you both have room.
You lay back and knock out in minutes.
You wake up to the sun hitting your face, the birds loud.
You turn over facing the ceiling and stretch.
“Oh finally you’re up.” She’s standing at the mirror putting her earrings in.
She leans forward and shakes the bed smiling widely.
“First period starts in 20! We gotta go babes.”
“Oh my god I- my uniform!”
“Don’t worry! I have a backup.” She goes to her closet and pulls out a headband of a skirt making you cover your mouth in shock. You stand up and walk over to her.
“What? I mean it’s from two years ago but you’re skinny… it’ll fit!”
“This skirt is… this is a joke right?”
“Oh my god you’ll be fine! It’s just for the day right? Then we can go to the mall after school and get a new one.”
You grab the skirt from her and she leaves the room. You gulp, flipping it around.
You again cover your mouth in disbelief.
“You’re not really going to wear that are you?” He was standing in her doorway just in his white button up. He was still wearing his pajama pants. The shirt was unbuttoned low, showing the middle of his chest and his sleeves rolled up, his biceps flexing as he crossed his arms.
“Can you get out?” You said viciously with zero remorse for his antics anymore.
He put his hands up in a defensive position and walked back to his room.
“I better not see you in that skirt.” He yelled as he walked away.
Your heart dropped slightly, for a millisecond you were genuinely afraid of what would actually happen if you wore it.
But then you started to wonder…
What would actually happen if I wore it?
It would drive him insane that’s for sure. That idea interested you.
You buttoned up the undershirt and slipped on her sweater vest pulling the skirt up. It barely fit up your behind and when you looked in the mirror, the safety shorts were visible at certain angles making you immediately shy.
“Cute!” Clara squealed as she walked in. She stood next to you, and posed looking in the mirror.
“Why do you get the pants?” You said looking down at her trousers.
“Oh no babe… let’s just say I'm not as small as I was two years ago.” You scoff at the statement knowing it’s bullshit considering she’s skinnier than you.
You grab your backpack and you both walk down the steps, the sound filling the house.
Once you get to the living space you finally question… where are their parents? You don’t ask. You’ve learned not to meddle in family business.
You sat down at the bench against the wall. Slipping your legs under the table cloth concealing your skin for as long as you could, you felt extremely exposed.
James stumbles down the steps adjusting his tie, his long fingers flexing as he ties it. His Adam’s apple showed as he leaned back to tighten it. He looked in the mirror next to the door, checking himself out in the process, fluffing his hair.
God he was such a douche.
Walking over to the kitchen he looked at you and furrowed his brow smirking slightly. You didn’t move one muscle on your face.
He enjoyed watching you be stoic, he knew you had to try hard to not react, he was in control either way.
“Why are you still here?” Clara questioned reaching for the cereal off the fridge.
“I still have to eat… besides why are you *he pushed her head lightly* still here?”
“That girl took forever to wake up.”
You looked up shyly not saying anything, your introverted side coming out in the worst moment.
He grabbed a protein bar from the cabinet and walked over slowly. You stared at your phone, the weather app.
He sat, sliding himself down the booth, your thighs inches apart.
He put his elbows on the table as loudly as humanely possible and you lifted up your hands putting them to your sides, looking down at your skirt. You felt like you were trying to sneak past your parents wearing something they’d never approve of.
He looked over at you, looking down, instinctively he followed your gaze.
He stopped chewing and looked up at you, slowly closing his mouth, exhaling loudly. You swear he stopped breathing almost completely.
“Okay so all we had was cinnamon toast, I hope you like it!” Clara walked over and gave you a bowl.
He sat still staring at you propping his arm up on the back of the bench behind you. Your arms were practically glued to your sides and you crossed your legs. You felt small next to him, not in a good way.
“Yea i’m sorry, I love Cinnamon Toast Crunch no worries.” You respond.
“Okay…” She said visibly weirded out as handed she bowl to you.
“Scoot down!” She said as she sat next to you, lightly nudging you, your body colliding with his. Your bare thigh touching his dress pants.
He looked you up and down, you could hear him swallow.
“James! Move down bro.” She said laughing slightly.
You looked over at Clara and she nodded in James' direction signaling you to go down more as well.
Still, you scooted down, again colliding with him.
“I need more milk.” Clara shot up and walked over to the kitchen.
He leaned one arm behind you and one in front of you on the table, between your body and the bowl of cereal. You could feel his hot breath on your cheek. His cologne was thicker than ever, assuming he just put it on. A light smell of cigarette and mint on his breath.
“I thought I told you not to wear that.” He whispered in your ear.
You didn’t look at him, frozen, staring forward.
“What are you trying at?” He said, his finger tapping on the table.
“Okay! got it.” Clara sits down before he can even finish the sentence. He leans forward and grabs a toothpick from the stack in the middle of the table. He readjusts, his back against the bench, manspreading, crossing his arms.
“You know what James, I think you should sit across.”
He didn’t say anything and just sat chewing the toothpick.
“James.” He shot up and immediately sat across from you pulling the chair out dramatically, sitting down, I guess he was capable of being obedient. He leaned back again in the same position, staring at you, hungrily.
You were so pissed off, and embarrassed.
You ate your cereal and the room grew thick from silence.
Suddenly Clara scoffed loudly, you looked over and she had spilled her water on her shirt.
“Oh my… ugh!” She stomped upstairs without a word.
Then it was just you two. Your elbows were propped on the table, him still leaning back, arms crossed.
He glared at you adjusting his jaw, flipping the toothpick with his tongue.
He looked over at the steps again before quickly standing up and sitting next to you, planting his arms in the same position as before caging you in.
He took the toothpick out of his mouth, flipping it on the table in front of you. You stared at his fingers.
“I think you should change right now.” His other hand found your shirt collar, his fingers wrapping around the edge touching the back of your neck.
“You’re just gonna ignore me?” He said it quickly, almost in one word. You can hear how hopeless he was in his tone. He put the toothpick back in his mouth and reached his arm across your body tucking your hair behind your ear. You looked away in the opposite direction of him, desperately trying to avoid his gaze, afraid of what you would do if you saw him so close.
“You understand- *He breathed a shaky breath* you understand why I can’t let you walk around like that right?” His hand lowered and rested on your thigh slowly curving inside.
You inhaled a series of short breaths. Your hands slipped under your thighs on either side.
He stared at you as you began to break at his touch. Your chest rising and falling, you bit your lip looking away farther. His hand didn’t stop until his thumb touched your panties.
“James.” You breathed his name barely getting the words out. When you finally looked at him his eyebrows raised and his eyes went wide. He was shocked at your innocence, your beauty, you looked completely ruined, your cheeks red, your eyes teary.
He lifted his hand up, it met your cheek and wiped under your eye. Softly rubbing his thumb up and down.
“You can’t look at me like that.” He whispered softly.
“James.” You cried his name out gently, completely broken.
All of the sudden you heard the steps. You both looked instantly. He slid from the bench and stood up walking towards the couch, adjusting his pants.
You closed your legs quickly making your breath hitch, the residual feeling still down there. You combed your hair out of your face and before she even made it down the steps, James was out the front door.
Clara sat down and flipped through her cereal looking at you, it was all soggy, making you both laugh slightly. You tried your hardest to contain your breath and pretend your heart wasn’t beating the quickest it ever had.
You both made it on the bus, the whole ride you stared out the window hiding your occasional smirk when your mind slipped, giving you a glimpse of the events from that morning.
You arrived at the school successfully. You and Clara part ways and you head towards the class.
You walk in, ready to see him again.
You step through the door and see him, Juhoon is standing at the teachers desk handing him a piece of paper.
“It’s halfway through the year, you can’t switch classes now.” You look down, your eyebrows turning in confusion.
You stand at the edge of your desk, removing your books from your bag, your side facing him. You look over to find him already staring at you, at your legs. You remember your questionable outfit.
The teacher is saying something, trying to get his attention, but he is too distracted by you.
In that moment James walks through the door, he doesn’t make eye contact and walks past you.
Before you can sit down Juhoon walks over, eyes on James while he’s talking to you.
“Can I… talk to you really quick.” You both look back at him.
“Yes.” You say short and sweet, he walks towards the door and you follow him, knowing James is still watching.
“Look i’m so, so sorry about what happened yesterday I was-“
His eyes keep traveling down to your legs. You eventually place your arms in front holding your wrist trying to cover more of your thighs. He removes his jacket with an annoyed look on his face. He comes up close and takes it, wrapping it around you. You can’t help but smile at the engagement. Your hands held up in fists shyly. He tied the knot tight, his lips pursing, slightly jerking you forward, his biceps flexing catching your attention.
“I’m sorry… it was distracting me.” He doesn’t smile, his eyes darting around slightly embarrassed, as he pushes his hair back putting his hands on his waist.
“You feel better now.” You say slightly mockingly.
“Yea.” He cocks his head sideways, smiling.
“Well I just… I just wanted to say sorry for yesterday.”
“Oh… it’s okay it was… it was a lot.”
“Seriously I never want you to feel in danger around me.” The words struck a chord.
Was that directed towards James?
“I didn’t, I'm fine.” You snap back your hand reaching up massaging your opposite bicep.
“I just… I just care about you.” He suddenly leans in for a hug, shocking you. You feel his toned chest against yours. Your hands stayed in the air for a second until you gave in, wrapping your arms around his neck feeling his broad shoulders. Your arms barely touched as he was so tall it was hard to reach around.
You look over his shoulder when you see his eyes. His predatory gaze, James is staring playing with the toothpick in his mouth, he shakes his head and looks away from you wiping his mouth, then crossing his arms. He raises one eyebrow looking you up and down and you quickly pull away from Juhoon.
“i’m sorry if that was-“ He looks concerned, like he overstepped.
“No it’s good… you say sorry too much.” You both laugh lightly, awkwardly.
You both walk back into the classroom.
James is watching, his eyes darting back and forth between the two of you, obsessed.
You don’t even turn around knowing he’s staring. You sit down with the jacket cushioning your seat. You look down, tightening it more, smiling lightly.
The class begins and ends, you leave quickly wanting to avoid any more confrontation between either of them.
You walk to second period knowing you’re going to have to deal with his bullshit once again.
You sit down at the desk. The bell rings. He never shows up.
You can’t lie, you were slightly concerned.
At one point you are staring hopelessly out the door when you see it. He walks past with the brunette girl. Arm across her shoulders she’s laughing uncontrollably at him. You sit up promptly.
Clare was right. He is just a player. I’m so stupid.
You try to calm your nerves but you can’t help the feeling of jealousy filling you slowly. You wanted him all to yourself, a stupid wish.
The bell rings just then and you shoot up to follow them. You turn out the door to someone unexpected, Juhoon is waiting for you, leaning on the wall.
“What are… what are you doing here?” You try to sound excited but your brain is clouded with anger.
“I saw you leave this class yesterday and I thought I… would walk you to your next.”
You walk away from him annoyed, ignoring him.
“y/n? What… what did I do?” He follows you quickly.
“It’s not you I just…” your hands in your hair.
“No I… I know exactly what’s going on.” His tone drops and he stands still, not following you any longer. As people fill the space between the two of you, you see him turn around his body taller than anyone in the crowd. You look down and feel the sleeve from his jacket still wrapped around your waist.
At that moment you had to choose.
You cut through the crowd until you were side by side with him, your arm naturally cuffing around his bicep.
“I’m sorry.” You didn’t look up, your head resting against his arm.
He couldn’t help but his smile looking down at you. He looked up walking proudly with an accomplished look painting his face.
He took his arm out of your grasp and wrapped it around your shoulder.
You looked up and made eye contact with him, his big pink lips curved into a smirk making your heart skip. You felt safe with him. It was effortless.
Your hand wrapped around his waist, you two walked together as one being.
He turned down a hallway with an exit door and leaned against the door pushing it open. You detached yourself from him standing back.
“What? You coming?” He bit his lip motioning you outside the door. You saw the sun painting the tall grass blowing in the wind.
You quickly run out the door past him, squealing slightly.
He laughs following after you.
You ran, your body engulfed in the grass, so tall it touched your shoulders. You looked back and he was running after you.
“Come on boy!” You yelled, it suddenly grew competitive. You untied his jacket and turned around tossing it at him, laughing loudly when it hit him, visibly throwing him off his game.
You saw him speed up behind you, your heart beat increasing as you attempted to quicken your pace but it was no use, he was already gaining on you.
He grabbed your waist, his head under your arm pit. He picked you up, your legs kicking in the air as you playfully screamed. You heard him laughing behind you like a child.
He placed you down, your feet intertwined causing you both to fall.
Both on your backs, you laughed harder than you had in a long time your hands coming up to wipe your face.
He sat up, propping his head on his elbow staring at you. You looked over.
“What.” You say laughing.
“What? I can’t look at you?”
“Oh god. Shut up.” You look up at the sky, the grass framing your view.
“You know there’s a game tonight?”
“What kind of game?” You rip some grass out of the ground and throw it at his face, making him close his eyes and scoff playfully.
“A football game.” He throws grass back at you.
“Are you playing?” You ask.
“Okay sorry… I don’t know.”
“It’s okay… yea, I’m playing… I would play better if you were there though.” He was playing with the grass when he looked up after finishing the sentence, searching for your approval.
“Great!” He yelled while standing up, before you know it he placed an arm under your knees, the other under your back. He was spinning you around your hair flying as you leaned your head back screaming, your hands covering your face.
He stopped and stood still catching his breath, his chest rising and falling. You reached up, pushing his hair up off his forehead.
He looked at your lips. You knew he wouldn’t kiss you. He was too much of a gentleman. He slowly dropped your legs keeping you close to him chest to chest, you are both panting. His hand found your chin and you looked up at him. All you saw around you was the grass. No buildings, no people, you were in your own world, just him and you. You did it, no thought, just feeling.
You kissed him. One kiss, quick and sweet, gentle and perfect. He opened his eyes and you stared into them, holes peering into his soul, his cheeks flushed red, your thumb brushing against his lower lip. You wrapped your arms around his neck, your head resting on his chest. You didn’t think, you just wanted to be enveloped in him. His sweater was soft against your cheek. He smelled like the detergent labeled Fresh Laundry. His arms interlocked around your back, lifted you up, your legs flying up crossing behind you, you screamed quietly. He put you down and you pulled back your hands, resting them on his chest. His hands met your arms as he rubbed light circles on your elbows.
“Should we go back to class now?” You asked.
“We already left… might as well make a day out of it.”
Soon enough you were sitting at a diner he had taken you to. There was quiet slow 50’s music playing gently in the background.
You sat across from each other peeking over your menus. Just your eyes watching each other. You giggled, hiding your face, your feet were fighting under the table.
“What can I get you guys today?” The waiter stopped by taking your orders.
After the waiter walked away along with your menus, Juhoon reached across the table and grabbed your hand.
He picked it up towards his mouth and kissed it gently, not letting it go.
You stared at one another, not smiling, but not completely straight faced, just enough to let each other know you were in fact obsessed.
Just then the bell on the door chimed and in walked a group of people. You didn’t recognize any of them, they looked your age. All of them were wearing some variant of a leather jacket.
Two boys and two girls, you looked back at Juhoon ignoring their glances.
Then from your peripheral vision you saw him. You didn’t need to look up. He was the last to enter the restaurant. Taller than the other boys, his slender body stood out.
They walk the opposite direction of your table. Juhoon, still unaware who was behind him. Your heart beat became uneven and your anxiety set in, scared of what would happen if he knew.
“Hey!” One of the boys yells from the booth at you and Juhoon. Juhoon turns around naturally looking at the group when James pushes the boy.
“Shut up.” He says before leaning forward planting his elbows on the table, playing with the toothpick still in his mouth. You stare at him entranced so easily by his hazel brown eyes. Juhoon turns back to see you distracted.
“Yes… I'm sorry… are you okay?” You say trying to make him forget.
“I’m fine, are you?” He tries to grab your hand, but you didn’t notice pulling your arms back, resting them against your sides.
You suddenly look visibly uncomfortable.
Juhoon stands up and your heart drops.
He sits down next to you sliding down the booth.
He places an arm in front of you, the same way James held you that morning, but with a completely different feeling attached.
“Just ignore them okay.” He was so gentle and cute. He had no power over you.
“Yea I’m… I’m sorry…” Your hand reaches up and you grab his shirt collar.
His cheeks immediately get flushed and he gulps nervously.
You blink slowly staring into his eyes, your head tilted down looking up.
You knew deep inside you were doing this for another intention.
Suddenly he planted a kiss on your lips, you grabbed the back of his head not letting him pull away. Your eyes opened, while sucking on his bottom lip. You made eye contact with him, across the restaurant.
His eyes looked like those of a wolf, deep and fierce. He leaned forward on the table pulling the toothpick out, he threw it on the ground standing up pushing the table back. His shirt riding up you could see his underwear band, a tattoo peaking out. He walked towards the door and threw it open leaving the restaurant. You closed your eyes again releasing Juhoon from your kiss. His eyes open in a drunken daze.
“Okay…” He said laughing, surprised by your sudden boldness, wiping his lip.
You turned away smirking and crossed your arms on the table ignoring him as he bit his lip hungry for more.
You looked out the window and saw him. He was leaning against his car, lighting a cigarette. He took a drag, blowing the smoke up, his eyebrows arching when he met your gaze, a deadly glare.
It was murky outside, the sky was painted grey, not a speck of sunlight.
The wind blew his hair back.
You looked back at Juhoon who was playing with his fingers.
You turned your body and grabbed his hand, stopping him.
“So what time is this game?”
“It’s at 7.” He readjusts leaning towards you.
You pick your feet up and lay your legs across his body. Your back is now leaning against the window, preventing your eyes from wandering to him.
Your converse hang off the edge of the bench, when he lightly rests his hands on your knees.
His eyes travel up your legs involuntarily.
“What’s up with this skirt anyways…?”
“What… you don’t like it?” You ask knowing what he’s trying to say, ignoring him.
“No I-“ he gets shy, his hand goes down his face, his thumb and pointer finger, wiping around his lips. You giggle lightly.
“No, I like it… just… don’t you feel a little exposed?” He reached across the table, his long arm extending and grabbing his jacket off the seat.
He laid it over your legs, patting them.
“There.” He adjusts his legs, pushing his hips forward, his arms wrapping your legs, his hands gripping them lightly.
“Better?” You ask tilting your head.
“Much.” He looks at you biting his lip playfully, then laughing while looking upwards.
“Hey, can I ask you about something?”
“What happened between James and your mom.” You said the words quickly before your nerves overtook you.
His head turned quickly towards you with a concerned look.
“I’m just… I just want to know, it seemed like it really affected the both of you.”
“Okay well…” He lifted your legs and scooted forward to where your thighs were laying on his legs, your knees in a right angle.
“We went on a family vacation to the beach. Both of our mothers were there… I went to wake my mom up and he was there… in her room… just shirtless in her bed. God I mean Y/n it was… it was so fucking obvious god… it makes me sick just talking about it.”
“Yes… and don’t-“ He places his arms one on the table and one on the back of the booth surrounding you in the corner.
“Don’t believe anything James tells you.” He whispers.
You swallow out of fear. He sits back facing forward
“I don’t believe James would do that.”
“Are you serious… you’re fucking with me right? I mean… you’re really defending him right now?”
“No I'm not, I'm just staying neutral!” You yell the words out sitting up, throwing your hands up.
He shakes his head, his elbows on the table he rests his head in his hands covering his eyes.
You lift your hand and rub his back gently.
“Y/n you just… he’s already got you.”
“What did he say to you?” He is visibly stressed.
“It’s so obvious there’s something there… I'm not stupid.”
“there’s nothing I swear there’s… there’s nothing Juhoon.” He stares at you in disbelief eventually looking away drinking his water letting the issue fizzle out.
There’s still a residual energy the rest of the date that wasn’t there before.
James’ eventually enters the restaurant again by that point you had already finished your meal.
You had been holding it the whole time but you needed to use the bathroom. Desperately. Juhoon pays the check and you leave the restaurant. You get into his car.
“Hey I… I need to use that bathroom, is that okay?” You ask, worried he may think you have an ulterior motive.
“Yes… of course… but wait.” Before you leave he leans across the middle of the seats and lightly grabs your chin pulling you in for a kiss. You are surprised and smile as your lips release.
You grin widely at him as you open the door and step out.
You walk in and avoid looking in his direction at all.
You walk into the bathroom and sigh, knowing you are safe. You enter the stall, pull down your pants and sit. You finish and stand up zipping your pants, while buckling you hear the door swing open hitting the wall.
You stand still. Terrified.
No way that’s him. He wouldn’t.
You slowly unlock the door, you exit and see a woman stepping into the stall next to you. Your anxiety subsides and you step out completely, closing the door behind you.
You wash your hands and gently fix your hair. You walk towards the door and open it. Directly outside leaning against the wall he’s there.
You don’t say anything and quickly walk past him when he comes up even quicker behind you. Grabbing your waist and covering your mouth he pulls back into the hallway.
He pushes you against the wall.
“What exactly do you think you’re doing?” He says out of breath, one arm over your shoulder and one holding your wrist against the wall.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” You practically yell.
You both stand completely silent staring at one another, breathing heavily, the sound of your panting fills the small hallway.
“James… he's waiting.” He lets you go and walks backwards one hand on his waist and one covering his mouth. He looks at the floor and then back at you.
“Tell him a friend is going to take you home…Clara… tell him Clara is coming…”
“James what the fuck no-“
“...I don’t like this… you two together it’s-”
“Y/n?” You hear a voice yell from the direction of the entrance and you both look, without a second thought you lean forward and push James into the girls bathroom.
“Go!” You yell in a whisper, forcing him in.
You walk back out and see him standing there waiting.
“Yes I’m fine let’s uh-“ You look back at the door.
“Uh okay.” He says it, slightly weirded out by your urgency.
“Well you know what I might as well go now too.” He turns around.
In that moment James walks out of the girls bathroom, the door swinging open as he zips up his fly. He stares Juhoon in the eyes and walks past so close they almost brush their arms.
You watch him as he walks away, the moment feels unreal, like slow motion. Juhoon turns around swiftly and grabs James' shoulder, spinning him around. He lands a hard punch, his full body turning, knocking James onto the ground, blood splattering on the floor. Juhoon winces slightly jumping as he holds his fist from the pain.
Your ears went deaf and your eyes were blurry. Your brain couldn’t keep up with what was happening before you. You covered your mouth and gasped loudly looking away right when the punch landed.
James leaned on the ground just by his arm, he hadn’t fully fallen just yet. He held his jaw licking the inside of his mouth. He faced the floor pushing himself up with his hands. Juhoon stood his ground not moving even though you could see his hands shaking. James was normally shorter but suddenly he looked taller.
No words were exchanged when James grabbed Juhoon’s shirt and slammed him against the wall, making a framed poster slip and hit the ground, shattering the glass. He landed two punches, blood immediately dripping from Juhoon's eyebrow and bottom lip.
It was almost like… he wanted to get James angry on purpose.
“James enough!” You yell crying, you just wanted to run away but you couldn’t leave it up to them.
Suddenly a large man from the kitchen comes and pulls James off of Juhoon.
He doesn’t fight, he just lets him. He shakes out of his grasp and the man lets him go, James glaring at him.
Juhoon is still standing leaning against the wall, his hands resting on the trim. Blood dripped from his lip. He just stood there breathing heavily staring at James, not even a glimpse at you.
James wipes the excess blood off his mouth and looks down at his hand, then up at you.
Your eyes, hopeless and torn.
He turns and pushes the man from the kitchen back against the tables stomping towards the exit, you watch him get in his car speeding away.
You look over at Juhoon but he doesn’t look once.
He leaves the restaurant as well.
You stand looking at the debris, The blood still on the floor that flew from James’ mouth making you cringe.
Clara came to pick you up as soon as she could and you decided to go back to your own house.
You knocked and no one answered. The door was unlocked so you walked in.
“You’re home!” She walked out of the kitchen. She smelled rancid. Her hair was a mess, she looked skinnier than usual and her eye bags were deep.
“Mom what… what happened.”
“What do you mean I'm fine.” She rested her hand in her other arm as she took a drag from her cigarette blowing it up, the smoke making you cough.
“Now where have you been missy?” She asked, laughing gently, you start gradually walking towards the stairs.
“Just school mom… like every other day.” She didn’t mention the note. She didn’t mention anything. Just like her normal bipolar self, she ignored everything from the past.
“I’m gonna go take a shower okay.” You say already out of her view.
She didn’t respond and just fanned her hand in an okay motion walking back to the kitchen.
You sighed and walked up the steps.
You finished your shower and slammed your door behind you. It was getting dark at this point, you could hear thunder rolling in the clouds.
Would the game still happen in this weather? You questioned.
You got dressed and went up to the window intrigued. The light from his hallway lit up his dark room, however the room itself remained empty.
Just then as you were about to look away James entered, but not alone. The man from a few days ago followed closely behind. James was packing a bag on his bed. They were yelling, you could hear slight murmurs all the way from your window, their voices carrying. Suddenly his dad turned him around like a ragdoll, he pointed in his face aggressively. James shook his head slowly and turned back to his bag facing the window, you could see his tears forming, he closed his eyes and they escaped, he wiped them quickly.
You could hear him yell “What are you crying?” James lips mouthed the words,
Just then he began removing his belt, something you had seen before, you knew exactly how this played out. You flipped back against the wall covering your mouth and closed your eyes, your tears falling like water unable to control it. You looked back slowly and James was on the ground. His arms crossed on the bed with his head caged inside. His body was shaking, his shoulders moving up and down, you could tell he was crying. You covered your mouth. You could hear the car drive away, you immediately ran out of your room.
You crept down the stairs and unlocked the door, not caring who hears.
You ran across the grass not taking the time to walk down your path, you banged on his door.
You kicked the bottom this time.
“Clara…cl-“ Your crying affected your speech, you took a deep breath.
“James… please open the door.”
“Ja-“ You kicked one last time when the door swung open. It was never locked. The door creaked loudly filling the cold house. You close it gently and slowly walk towards the steps. You are scared someone else may be there besides the two of them. You make it up the steps and into Clara's room. The lights are off and it’s empty.
Then you see at the end of the hall, his door is closed. You regret coming in at all but you can’t leave him, you’re afraid of what he may do.
“James.” You whisper gently your back against his door, you slide down hitting the ground.
“James I just- I just wanted to come check on-“ You hear him sniffle loudly and it makes your heart stop. You close your eyes and inhale, trying to control your tears.
“Just go away.” The words are barely separated, he doesn’t even form them properly, his voice so emotional you can barely understand him.
“Just go away.” He yells this time making you jolt.
You stop trying, but you also refuse to leave. You pull your knees up to your chest and wrap your arms around them, setting your head down.
“I'm not leaving… you don’t have to let me in… but i’m not leaving.”
Exhausted from the crying, muscles weak from the day. You fall asleep, head in your knees.
You wake up suddenly with a pain in the back of your head. You open your eyes and he’s standing above you, he must’ve opened the door and you fell back.
He knelt down and helped you up, lifting your shoulders.
“Y/n… this is way bigger than you…”
“We’re not that different James.”
“You’re good… I'm not… that’s the difference.”
His chin shutters and he clenches his jaw, his eyes watering instantly. He looks up exhaling choppy breaths.
“James-“ Your hand reaches for his face and he stands up.
He walks over to his bed and sits down.
It goes completely silent, you can practically hear the air, a dog barking quietly in the distance.
“My father… he used to hit me…” You stop to catch your breath, he looks up at you.
“Well it was my mom more… but eventually she stopped coming home… and it was just me there.” He didn’t say anything… just stared blankly.
“I was lucky actually *you laughed slightly* if he hit me… it was better than-“
You walk over and sit next to him.
“James, I'm just trying to tell you. There’s nothing that I can’t handle.” You grab his hands.
“You can tell me anything… because trust me I’m- I’m just as messed up as you are.”
He looks up, his eyes glossed over. You could now see his eye was bloodshot, with a bruise slowly developing around it, the one on his lip was already fully formed. He had a mark on his arm in the shape of the belt. You covered your mouth, quickly cupping his face with both of your hands.
“Oh my god… baby.” You cry the words out, completely breaking down.
You see in his face he’s struggling to keep his composure.
Then it finally happens. He leans into you, and lets it out. His cries are loud and relentless echoing through the silent room. He holds onto you, tightly wrapping his arms around your waist, you grab his head kissing him. You’re shaking but you knew you had to hold yourself together for him.
“Ever since he married her I've always been the one… I tried to tell him what happened I… no one believes me…” He says leaning into your shirt, you can feel his tears soaking through onto your skin. You continue to rub his head.
He looks up at you, you brush his hair back, his face visibly soaked from the tears, his nose red.
“I don’t want to be bad.”
His words tear you apart.
You pull his head towards your chest again, unable to find the words. Nothing can fix this, nothing you say will truly help him.
“and it’s…” He sits up passionately.
“It’s always him…he’s the son the- the straight A student the fucking varsity whatever the fuck… it’s always him.” His words are slurring, his tears flowing nonstop.
“You know there was a point I tried too…” He stopped, his eyes wide, wiping his tears quickly.
“And they still didn’t give a fuck… no one gives a fuck about me.”
“Oh come on you’re with him… he got you-“
“No… James stop.” You stand up and yell. He looks up at you surprised.
“I choose you okay… it’s you.” Your emotions took over. You just wanted to make him feel better.
He panted and looked you up and down, like he didn’t believe you.
“James… I promise.” Your anxiety set in when you said that. He was like a ticking bomb, you knew you had to keep that promise no matter what.
You walk over and lean down crawling to the corner of his bed you pull up the sheets and slip underneath.
“Just come on.” He looks over at you, like a lost puppy that never had a home, unsure how to accept affection.
He leans back and slowly pulls himself under the covers. He slips into your arms, his face going into your chest, your head resting on top of his. His hands go up your back, you move your leg so it’s on top of him, you kiss his head one last time.
You’re ready to drift away when you suddenly get a call, it’s from Clara.
You show him your phone and he nods, letting you know it’s okay to answer.
Before you can finish she cuts you off yelling.
“Y/n! Where are you! We’re totally winning. It's like the best game of the season! Juhoon keeps asking about you-“
“Clara!” You cut her off before James can hear.
You looked down at him, his eyebrow was perked up, he definitely heard Juhoons name.
“About that yea… I can’t come anymore…”
“WHAT! y/n no way you have to come please! It's the last one of the season. If you’re really my friend you’ll come.”
“Let’s go.” James said lightly from below.
“No… no just forget about it.” You pull the phone away whispering to him.
“No it’s okay I know you want to go.. let’s go.” He holds your hand.
You were mortified at the idea of seeing the two of them together again.
He stands up and walks over to his closet flipping through the clothes. He slips off his tank top and you immediately stop breathing. His back is covered in bruises. Your hand goes up to cover your mouth and you feel a tear running down your cheek. He slips on a black t-shirt, you can see at a certain point he holds it, gently lowering it so it doesn’t directly rub against the bruises.
You stand up and slowly walk behind him. You reach your arms around his body gently, not squeezing, your hands together. He spins around in your grasp, he lightly grabs your hands, holding them with your knuckles aligned next to one another. He brings them to his lips, kissing your fingers. His bloody knuckles break you from your daze. Some with the skin so torn it made you cringe and look away.
“It's okay… It’s not the first time.” He whispered.
Like that would reassure me.
“I don’t want to hear that.”
“I just mean… I’m okay.” He looked down at you with a reassuring look.
He leans down and kisses you.
You reach up and grab his cheek, he winces pulling away from your touch, it was so dark you couldn’t see, accidentally touching his bruised lip.
“It’s okay baby.” He slips past you and opens the door.
You walk out the door, maintaining eye contact, going down the hallway carefully.
Instead of going down the stairs, you walk over to Clara’s room.
“Where you going?” He questions.
You enter the room, walking over grabbing a cushion foundation off of her vanity.
“We have to cover these bruises.” You say, looking at different products in her drawer.
“It’s just too much.” You look up at his face.
“I’m not putting that shit on my face.” He scoffs.
“James just shut up.” You push him down aggressively into the vanity chair. He instinctively checks himself out, fixing his hair.
“Okay, stop moving.” You go in and pat it on with a heavy hand and he winces, turning away, he looks back at you with a glare. You grab his jaw and pull his head, facing it upwards towards you.
You lightly tap this time and it covers the bruises effectively. He’s looking up at you now when his hands find your waist, pulling you in closer. You ignore his advances and continue focused on the make up until his hand grabs the product and puts it on the table.
“I think that’s enough.” He grabs your hips and slips his hand under your knees, placing you on his lap.
“James…” you say annoyed.
He brushes your hair out of your face.
“Are you really all mine?” He asks. You roll your eyes and look away when he puts his hand on your cheek facing you towards him again.
“For now.” You laugh gently, but his face is serious. He doesn’t find your joke very funny.
His hand is now holding the back of your neck while the other holds your knees together on his lap.
“James, we have to.” He shushes you.
“Just wait a few minutes. What’s the rush?”
You run your fingers through his hair, pulling his head back in the process, he smirks like he enjoys the feeling. You grab his hair in a fist, pulling it hard, and he bites his lip looking up at you, his fingers digging into your waist.
You pull away and fluff his hair back to normal, you look down at yourself in the mirror.
“Why’d you stop?” He whimpers the words close to your ear, where you can feel his breath.
“Because we have to go.” You say it strongly, like a statement. You know deep down he likes to be obedient.
He grabs your legs and stands you back up.
“Okay not bad… I might have to wear this more often…” You chuckle lightly, pushing his head.
You walk towards her door and he follows after you. Before you leave he suddenly smacks you, right on the behind.
“James!” You turn around his tongue between his teeth smirking mischievously, he grabs your waist pulling you in from behind, his hands on your stomach.
You walk out the door, his head resting on your shoulder, his arms still wrapped around your waist tightly.
You both walk quickly out of the house and head for his car. He walks around and opens the passenger seat, this surprises you.
“Don’t look so surprised.” He said, taking the words out of your mouth.
You sit down and he closes the door, walking around the car, for the first time you see a truly content look on his face.
He slides down in the driver's seat putting the keys in quickly.
You reach for his hand stopping him.
“James… Can I ask you something.”
“uh… yea.” He looks nervous, he sits back adjusting his pants.
“You know… he’s going to be there.”
“Just promise me you won’t fight him.”
“I-.” He shook his head, biting his lip then exhaling deeply.
“Thank you.” You lean back in one swift motion falling against the seat.
He starts the car and soon enough you are at the school.
You pulled into the parking lot where you could already hear the chants and screams from the bleachers. Some students sat in their trucks drinking and smoking, the teachers must’ve given up.
You step out of the car and he runs over.
“I was going to open it for you.”
“Oh shut up.” You lean down and adjust your shirt. Smirking up at him. He sucks in his cheeks, licking his lips.
“Hey!” You turn around and Clara is there. You were somewhat annoyed at her presence just wanting to have this night for you and James.
“Oh hey Clara.” She doesn’t yet see James.
“Hey! Let’s go… wait what are…” Her expression changes from excitement to confusion to finally, realization.
He comes up behind you, his hand naturally curving around your waist.
“Oh my god.” The words spill out of her mouth at the sight of you two.
“Let’s go.” You turn towards the field completely oblivious to her shock, he follows.
Mickey comes up with popcorn and two sodas. He stands next to Clara looking down at her stare of disapproval.
“Hey babe what’s…” He looks up and sees you two.
“Well… looks like I owe you 20 bucks.” Clara says standing next to him, grabbing the drink and taking a long slurp. They both now stare at the two of you, James’ hand wrapping around your waist, him leaning in and kissing your head.
“Holy shiiit.” Mickey laughs, throwing popcorn in his mouth before he catches Clara’s deadly glare, making him immediately go silent.
You walk into the stadium, your first time being together publicly.
You walk along the outside of the fence, his hand has moved up so it’s resting along your shoulders, you play with his fingers gently.
You near the bleachers and immediately feel a million eyes on you, making you look down out of self consciousness.
“Whats wrong?” You look over and his face is centimeters away from yours. He looks down at your lips and you immediately look away afraid of having a PDA moment.
You walk up the bleachers first, looking back you grab his hand, leading.
You see people whisper when they notice the two of you but come to the conclusion it’s just in your head.
You get to the top of the bleachers and find a spot.
He can see your anxiety and brushes your hair off your shoulder. His hand curves around the back of your neck, making you look his way.
His words are like velvet cutting through the loud screams.
As it was the final game of the season there were barely any open spots, it was completely packed.
“James.” He looks up behind you at the walkway and his eyebrows tense up, his jaw clenching.
You turn around, it’s the brunette. Audrey. you roll your eyes involuntarily, turning back at him.
“Don’t leave please.” You whisper staring into his eyes.
“It’s better I get it over with now… I’m just gonna tell her I'm done.” He holds your hands.
Did I trust him? No… I didn’t.
“Okay just… just go.” He stands up and steps over your legs walking in front of her quickly as she follows, like a little dog.
He disappears from your sight as they walk towards the side of the bleachers. Immediately you lose all confidence in your relationship.
You look down at the field and see the players have a break. You remember he’s out there somewhere. They take off their helmets one by one shaking, the sweat flying off their hair.
Right at the edge of the fence he stands. He flips his hair back and puts his hand up pulling it back. He looks up at the bleachers and like second nature, he finds your eyes. You smile naturally, he follows. He runs back to his teammates where they huddle in a circle.
You see Clara at the bottom of the bleachers and immediately shoot up and wave for her. She doesn’t see. You step past a few students and run down the steps.
“Clara!” You run up to her grabbing the edge of the fence.
“Hey girl where are we sitting?” She asks, wrapping her arm around your shoulder facing towards the field.
“Where did uh… James go?” She looked down at her feet, fidgeting.
“He had to talk to someone.”
“Hm…” She looked back up at you and you met her with a confused stare, slightly annoyed.
“Hey!” Her face lights up and you look to your left.
It’s Juhoon. He was panting quickly, his hair stuck to his head from the sweat. Not one inch of his skin was dry. He flipped his hair back again, his adams apple sparking in the stadium lights.
“Hi.” You say innocently, entranced by his beauty.
“I didn't think you were coming.” He asks with intrigue.
Clara looked back and forth between the two of you, her face visibly worried at the situation. She could quickly see both boys were insane for you, and she was convinced you were choosing the wrong one.
You put your arms on the fence facing him directly.
“I said I was coming…but it looks like you’re doing great without me.” You said, smiling warmly.
“Juhoon let’s go!” His coach yells, his head turning quickly. He runs away smiling while waving goodbye to the two of you.
“Y/n?” Clara asks gently when you turn towards her. She needed to tell you something, it was obvious.
“Hey babe come on let’s go up!” Mickey comes up wrapping his arm around her shoulders pulling her towards the bleachers.
“You coming?” She pleads, desperate to talk to you.
“No I’m… I’m just gonna wait here.” Before she could respond, they had turned away and were walking up the bleachers.
You watched the players yell and separate, he was number 11. Your eyes didn’t leave him for a second. You tried to follow the game but you never cared for sports one bit.
You kept looking towards the left, where James walked away with her, but there was nothing. It was stark. Everyone was seated watching the game.
The crowd erupted making you turn towards the field, the team was mauling Juhoon lifting him up in the sky like a king. You laughed covering your mouth slightly cringing, but you couldn’t help your joy at the sight of his wide grin when he took his helmet off.
He finally escaped them, the second his feet hit the ground he immediately ran for you, without a second thought. He threw his helmet without stopping his pace, flipping his hair back he hit the fence grabbing your face pulling you in for a kiss, still high off of his goal. You pull away from him with a shocked look. Looking him up and down you backed up covering your mouth.
“What’s wro-“ Before he can finish the question he sees him.
James was standing at the end of the bleachers with two popcorns and two sodas. He drops the tray, the sodas mixing with the popcorn, he turns around emotionless. You don’t even think before launching into a sprint after him.
“Y/n!” Juhoon yells, but you ignore him.
“James please…” You catch up with him quickly.
You stand in front of him. He tries to slip past you and you stop him, not letting him cross.
“Do you trust me?” You yelled the words, rugged, your throat dry from the cold night air. Your eyes are already watering.
“Do you trus-“ You repeated the words before he cut you off.
“Yes.” He looks down and then back up, anywhere besides your eyes.
You walk up and cup his face. He quickly turns away from your grasp. His eyebrows turned inward, his jaw tight. His nostrils flaring, you can see his nose getting red.
“He kissed me baby.” He refused to look at you.
He pulled your hands off his face, putting them down gently.
“I just need some time…” He walked past you slowly and walked away.
You didn’t want to be there without him. You didn’t want to go back to the bleachers. You stood watching him as he walked back to his car. A tear fled down your cheek, you wiped it quickly before anyone saw.
Letting him walk away felt like leaving the story unfinished. It didn’t feel right, but you wanted to respect his wishes.
Sometimes time can be a good thing.
You sit with Clara for the game, you don't smile once the rest of the night, trying to hold back your tears was hard enough.
The game ends and everyone files out of the bleachers. You completely forget about Juhoon, when he comes up behind you, you don’t even know how to react.
“Hey” He is pressed against your body, the crowd so cramped trying to leave quickly, there was barely any room.
“Hi.” You avoid his eye contact, not interested in anything he has to say.
Clara looks back awkwardly before flipping her head around, you two are holding hands to navigate through the crowd.
“I’m not sorry.” He yells. You scoff, shaking your head.
You eventually make it out of the crowd and you grab his hand, pulling him off the concrete onto the grass field.
You keep walking until there is no one in hearing distance, you’re already overwhelmed as it is.
“Where are we going?” He says laughing gently.
You practically throw him out of your grasp.
“Juhoon… I just…” Head in your hands looking down.
You cover your mouth staring at him clueless on where to begin
“It’s him isn’t it?” He said blankly.
It was completely silent for almost 5 seconds.
“You know you’re not as smart as you look” He said, his hands on his hips.
“Shut up.” You snap back.
“I mean seriously Y/n… I know for a fact Clara told you about-“
“You know what…” You walk up to where you are almost chest to chest.
“You REALLY don’t know me… and I'm starting to think you don’t know anything about James either.”
“Oh please, I know enough.”
“I’m not choosing anyone… okay?” You yell quickly.
“Yea sure…” He mumbled looking down.
“Juhoon you can’t just come up and kiss someone like-“
“You can’t just fuck with two guys at once.” He yelled back.
“I am choosing… and I'm choosing James.” You walked away without a second thought, Clara waiting for you at the edge of the bleachers, arms crossed.
He looked down, trying to control his heart rate. He pushed his hair back, his hands on his head, as he paced in a circle, completely hysterical. He finally came to a halt and watched you leave with Clara, biting his lip in anger.
You walk away, her arm rubbing your back. When you finally make it to the car, she sits in the back, Mickey driving.
It was silent the whole way.
You arrive at your house and open the car door promptly.
“Hey wait…” She reaches over and stops you.
You sit back and close the door fully.
“Whoever you choose, make sure the choice is for your happiness, not theirs.”
You quickly lean over and hug her tightly, she laughs lightly, surprised.
You lean back and step out of the car, walking up to your house, looking nowhere else.
You unlock the door and walk up to your room, you undress and slip into bed not even removing your makeup.
You don’t cry, in fact you slip off into a deep sleep, the best you’ve slept in months.
You wake up to the birds lightly tweeting. It’s still dark when you open your eyes.
You reach for your phone shamelessly going to text him, he was the first thing on your mind.
You stand up and walk towards your window.
James, I need to see you now. Your text reads.
You hit send and look up at his window, the blinds drawn, blocking your view. Just then his light turns on.
I see your light asshole. You text again.
You see the bubbles appear and then disappear.
His blinds shoot up, he’s leaning down shirtless, looking across the way at you.
He picks up his phone, the bright light revealing his smirk.
He throws the phone on his bed and pulls the blinds back down.
You pop back down on the bed tossing the phone, when it lights up one last time.
I’ll be at the bleachers before the first bell. He texted.
You do light makeup and get dressed in your normal uniform as always, when you look over and see the skirt laying on your desk chair. That skirt.
You slipped your current skirt down your legs effortlessly and reached for the short one pulling it up.
You checked yourself out in the mirror biting your nail, spinning around. Enjoying the new found confidence you have discovered in yourself.
You decide to walk to school because you woke up so early, it wasn’t that far, in fact the walk was quite scenic.
You step outside, the sun not even up yet, the blue sky painting the streets.
The whole walk you rehearse what you are going to say to him.
You take a shortcut, through a thinned out forest. The floor is covered in fog, your view hindered.
You see the stadium lights standing tall over the fog and now you made it.
You emerge from the forest slowly. The field is covered in a thin layer of ice, melting it with every step, you walk towards him. He is sitting directly in the middle of the bleachers.
A cigarette rested in his mouth as he read a small book, one that could fit in your pocket, he had it folded, holding it with one hand.
You walk up the steps, your converse covered in grass and residue from the turf.
You stand in front of him, his eyes looking up from the book staring directly through your thighs. You snatch the book while he’s distracted, and place it behind your back.
Grabbing the cigarette by the tips of his pointer finger and thumb, his knuckles still bloody from the day before. He leans back on his elbows, his white sleeves rolled up, showing his toned arms, his veins prominent.
“So what did you want to talk about?” He blew the smoke upwards.
“I just… I wanted to say…” You wanted to say sorry, but seeing his stupid cigarette, his cocky grin, and his obvious manspreading.
“I just wanted to say you’re wrong.”
He scoffs, smirking while sitting up he leans forward, his forearms resting on his thighs looking up at you. His fingers inches from your legs.
“In what context exactly?”
“uh huh…” He looked down uninterested, he grabbed his lighter from his pocket to relight his cigarette.
You don’t even know what possessed you. Right when it hit his lips you grabbed the cigarette, quickly holding it up by your shoulder.
He didn’t even react, his hands still in the position to light it.
“Stop smoking for one second.” You said.
He stood up towering over you, making you gulp involuntarily. He grabbed your hand tightly, you couldn’t lie, it hurt. His other hand reached over, taking the cigarette, putting it back in his mouth. He sat down like nothing, continuing to light it.
“Oh god just forget it.” Feeling pathetic you walked away before you caused yourself any more embarrassment.
You walk down the bleachers and run down the steps.
You find yourself pacing silently in the open space between the bleachers when you see him. He was leaning against the fence, arms crossed.
You stop as he pushes off slowly walking towards you. Your heart started beating quickly. He was unpredictable.
He walks towards you and doesn’t stop until you’re backed against the wall. He leaned down his hair touching your forehead. The smoke from the cigarettes burned your eyes.
Feeling powerless you take the cigarette out of his mouth, taking a drag. He stares at you, slightly intrigued.
You cough almost immediately, he doesn’t seem to care, he just stares at you. The cigarette still in your grasp he grabbed your wrist and smoked it from your hand, blowing the smoke up, some escaping from his nose.
His deep brown eyes stare at you, intimidated by his beauty the cigarette fell forward from your hand, hitting your knee. You raise it up involuntarily from the pain.
He quickly kneels down inspecting the wound. You watch him, mouth agape.
His thin fingers wrap around your leg, one under your knee, the other under your thigh, moving higher and higher every second. It was hard for you to keep your composure.
His eyes trace up your leg until he accidentally looks up your skirt, making his breath hitch.
“I’m sorry.” He looks down, then lightly kisses just below the burn.
He rubs his hands slowly around your thigh. He looks at the wound closely, rubbing his finger over it, making you gasp slightly.
“Are you okay?” He says, barely mumbling the words. He’s looking up at you, hopelessly drunk on your scent, his eyes look under your skirt, again.
“Ye… yea.” The words struggle to come out.
His hand dragged up your thigh as he stood up, pulling your skirt up in the process, until he touched the lace of your underwear.
Your skirt fell back down, his hands cupping both your cheeks. He leaned in kissing you, his shoulders going up. You wrapped your hands around his waist when he grabbed them, placing them around his neck. He leaned down and picked up your legs wrapping them around his hips.
He pushed you against the fence making it chime loudly. You grunted lightly, making him go in quickly for another kiss.
The sun was rising slowly, painting the field gold. It shined on the back of his head giving him an angel-like silhouette.
He opened his eyes looking your face up and down.
He held back, slowly panting waiting for your approval. He looked hopeless, his doe eyes enormous and pathetic, a single sweat drop running down his forehead. His eyebrows turned in making a desperate, longing gaze. You wanted him to take everything from you right then and there.
“I forgive you.” You release him insatiable for his kiss you lean in devouring his lips. His hand slipped up your back causing your arch to deepen as his nails lightly scratched you, making you moan softly. You bit his lip and he laughed leaning his forehead on yours. He kissed you quickly one last time, leaning away slowly, letting you down.
Your skirt was hitched up in the back revealing your underwear. He put his hand on your back, pulling you forward he looked down at your behind from over your shoulder and pushed the skirt down, his hand lingering on your behind. You loved being man handled by him. You knew what state you were in down there. Every touch made you more ready for him.
He slowly dropped down, one knee on the floor and then the other following, looking up at you.
You promptly turned, he grabbed your skirt pulling it down so it was no longer high waisted, resting it directly on your hips.
“This is too fucking short.” You bite your finger and let out a breathy laugh. He rubbed it down, removing stains the fence left on the white fabric. He lifted it so he wasn’t directly touching your behind. The bare minimum, but you wished he wasn’t so respectful in that moment, craving his touch.
He stood up, his fingers tucked under the hem of your underwear and skirt line making sure they weren’t wrinkled. He removed them quickly, the fabric making a smack sound. He spun you around, you collided with his chest, your arms up.
You laughed and so did he.
“You’re such a gentleman.” You say in a slightly mocking tone.
“Yea… I can be.” He says, looking down at your chest, licking his lips, then looking back up. His words make your mind go blank. You were holding hands now, raising them up and down in a big circular motion.
“Oh shut up.” You let go of his hands and pushed him off, he flew back, hitting the opposing fence on the next set of bleachers. You had to get him away from you, preventing the moment from escalating anymore.
He dramatically winced at the pain, making you laugh.
“I think it’s time to go to class.” You said, arms crossed leaning against the fence.
“Oh yea that.” You were pathetically laughing at everything he said.
You turn and walk away. Whipping your head back, your hair flipping in the sunlight. He was lighting another cigarette, watching you walk away like you were performing for him.
At that moment he looked like a man, not a boy. He intimidated you.
He blew the smoke up effortlessly, he leaned his head back, his Adam’s apple poking out, his hands in his pockets.
“See you later.” You yelled anxiously, his gaze hungry like a wolf looking you up and down as you walked, making you almost self conscious from his visible desire.
