Plastic beach was amazing! It’s not my favorite album but i can’t hide how good it is✨

I can literally go in emotional and physical detail on how each character was during this phase. The trauma, the grief, murdoc being a bitch but somehow still love him💔😭 like theirs literally essays I can do on this!!! (If I can free style in my English classes i would getting A’s on A’s 😭)

And that’s it✨ Idk, just wanted to get rid of the emotional torment that was burning in me before my next headcannons

✨Gorillaz Headcannons✨ (phase 2)

So everyone knows demon days was the main album that got gorillaz fully sky rocketing to the big top stage on every platform and playlist, but. Did everyone else think about how much of a power trip this will become (not to Russel or noodle, just murdoc and 2D)

I feel like during this phase, 2d gain some confidence in from that album, he’s in the big leagues now! Big shot on every page. You can not tell me he didn’t started ego tripping from this whole thing (he was still a young adult and honestly i would be the same 😭) the fame got in his head quickly then anyone else could. If he wanted to party and drink and snort up some white powder, then he can! And no one can tell him otherwise.

2D was still young and impressionable adult man (even with the multiple head injury’s) so he would make a insensitive comment here and their without it being pointed out hard like murdoc was, he built this whole persona of being the front singer pretty boy that couldn’t do no wrong that he slightly abused this power a bit during interviews, photo shoots, and etc. i fully believe he still had a childish teenage boy mentality even before the accident form murdoc car but simply abused the power of being disabled now.

murdoc started abusing 2D way more after this, his little oblivious brain dead servant growing confidence? Not on murdoc watch when he’s the real leader of gorillaz! (in his words) i heavily believe he knows that hitting 2D in the back of the head often would keep the blood in his head and making him a bit more slow like usual and obedient. And murdoc would do this often too! For when they have a photo shoot or for fun.

I believe off screen 2D and murdoc would fight A lot during this phase, it was only when 2d has less blood in his head like usual that he would act out and actually defend himself a little. Murdoc would often win since he literally is older and have more experience in fights then 2d pampered and loving childhood life. But in silent rare moments where they both got done almost killing each other, they would simply smoke a blunt together and call it a day (Russel is so sick of them)

Russel is the designated driver. I have nothing more to say but to state the obvious

I fully believe noodle would sleep in the tour van or backstage since she was too young at the time to even go to the after parties (one time, murdoc literally forgot about her when drunk and it took ever ounce of patience Russel had to not smack the hell out of him)

Speaking of noodle, I feel like during this phase noodle forces herself to grow up more. Like, look at all the adults around her, she has a every day drunk and violent uncle (Murdoc), a literal drugged junkie brother (2D), and a older man that she could call of a father figure not being able to control and handle his grief of his dead best friend (Russel)

Since noodle made herself the proper adult in the house (even tho she was simply a teenager) she would find herself wondering off on her own often, her leaving home to do whatever she wanted (and to get out of that mad house she calls home) to do her own thing, of course Russel immediately horrified when he found out about it months later

I think during this phase, Russel had enough of being the main babysitter of 2D and murdoc bullshit. Grown man but fighting like children on the pettiest things, he started focus more on himself and specifically to noodle since she grown this “I have to do everything around here!” Mentality

When noodle was going through puberty, it was simply pure hell, none of them had no idea what to do with a 13 year old girl going through puberty so their best option was the internet (which was still quite a bit new at the time) they showed they care in weird ways, 2d buying every pad’s in the store for her, Russel would try to cook her something to help her through it, and murdoc, he simply doesn’t care and for her to tough it out, he would probably make insensitive jokes like “getting kick in the balls is worser!” Or “what you’re problem? A period can’t be that bad” 99% of the times ends with something heavy getting thrown at him (but at the dead of nights, he would make a cup of tea and place a heated blanket on her bed before she goes to her room, noodle knows it’s him but doesn’t say anything to the prideful satanist)

They would still baby noodle even tho she much older now and she still hates it (when she was younger, they would simply pick her up and put her in air jail. Now, they can’t anymore) 2d would simply ignore her when she makes comments on his bad behavior and how much he becoming like murdoc slowly, while murdoc simply teased her until she gets violent. Russel would listen but won’t do any of her suggestions she gives him and go back to the loop of grief he was in before.

Noodle would cussed under her breath in Japanese, and the only person who would understand it would be murdoc ( he made sure to know every slur and cussed word in Japanese just so he can say to it people, he’s hateful to all varieties✨)

Hi!✨ I’m weirdly proud about this HC and I’m super excited for pre phase 3 and phase 3 in it full whole

I try my best to not look at the gorillaz characters as not only just mascots to the band, but more of individuals with their own flaws and weaknesses and reasons of being like this (plus, I’m pretty sure me targeting 2D was mostly me not liking people babying 2d in the earlier phases, I’m no 2d hater I swear!!🙏🏾)

I did say I’m going to share my HC with yall, so…here they are.

✨Gorillaz headcannons✨ (phase 1)

Murdoc let noodle drink his beer once and she immediately thought all alcohol was like that, making her not wanting to try it for years after that

(plus, if you want to take the angst route. Noodle would find murdoc drunk and passed out often as a kid, causing her to have a slight fear of drinking in general) I made drawings for this✨

When the band was first created, they were flat dead broke (mostly from Murdoc poor spending choices) and would often eat takeout. The only person that got groceries and food was Russel, but murdoc would shove everything out for his shitty beer instead (since he was a selfish asshole lol) causing the food to be moldy and stuff

I don’t ever think Russel had time to grief over his friend. It leads him down a path of sorrow and lost from it, causing him to get nightmares constantly about del (even tho del was their with him in spirit, he still felt random guilt) he didn’t say anything, thinking it will blow off in it of itself

They had to get odd jobs during their ✨broke era✨ (not sure what odd jobs they would get, leave your suggestions if you want lol)

They argued about sending noodle to school but decided to homeschool her instead. again, their too broke for a private teacher or a translator so they all taught themselves a bit of Japanese to even talk to the little girl (it was Russel that knew the most, 2d and murdoc kinda guesses what she says)

Certain sounds cause noodle to have weird PTSD attacks, even tho she wasn’t sure (at the time) where the PTSD stem from

They would babied noodle a lot no matter how often noodle told them to stop (even tho it most likely true that she way more mature then murdoc and 2D combined) it became mostly a habit then it is to tease her (Murdoc does it to tease her)

During the rock the house interview, murdoc said he went to a wedding in that outfit which was later found out was 2D aunt funeral, my biggest headcannon from this interaction alone is that murdoc never seen a proper marriage before and his father would have a picture of his wife and him together getting married and she was wearing all black since it was a funeral for her freedom (is it a stretch, Yes. Do I like me some angst, also yes)

The song double bass was created by murdoc to prove a point to people that the bass DOES matter.

2D was in his very early twenties during this, I HEAVILY headcannon that he got a mini power trip every time a song gets popular, their playing a song with HIS voice! His the singer! The front row cover boy of it all! (Your not telling me he didn’t have some weird ego boost after that) if murdoc wasn’t there to always manipulate and abuse 2D, i would 100% believe he would have taken the fame in his head way earlier

Murdoc was a homophonic bisexual man, how does that work? Simple! Sleep with man at night in private, but still be the same guy that would say gay slurs to gay people (I mean he was born in the 60’s and I’m pretty sure during those times, being gay was a literal crime or the worst case to be so…)

Murdoc got most of his chaotic personality from his older brother and experienced in his early years of adulthood, no matter how crappy of a older brother (Hannibal) was, Murdoc had this weird kinship with him base on the fact on having the same crappy dad and all (would he ever admit that out loud? Hell no)

And it was freaking younger murdoc and this weird bowl Afro he got here😭 i don’t know why but i weirdly love drawing it✨

But also speaking about younger murdoc

Does anyone else in the gorillaz community remember Hannibal?? Like, this was a one off character that never been explored or talked about yet!

Ok, theirs a lot of other blogs that talked about their HC about him but idk, he seem weirdly like the influence in murdoc whole personality
