As heartbreaking as the Bad Boy leaks are, I really love that he's telling the story to Gabi and Falco in the post-canon era. It's heartwarming that even after everything that has happened to him, Levi still has people he trusts enough to open up about such an awful time in his life. There are still people who very clearly care for him, and it's a very satisfying 'fuck you' to the trolls that claimed that Levi would've been 'better off dead' because he 'has nothing to live for', blah blah blah.
It gives me so much peace knowing that post-war Levi is living his best life. He's not lonely and miserable, he's surrounded by people who love and care for him as much as he cares for them. Levi has a chance to live for himself and heal, now that he no longer has to live for the Survey Corps' hopes and dreams, and he is so so deserving of this chance.
Bleak House, Mademoiselle Hortense
My Lady’s maid is a Frenchwoman of two and thirty, from somewhere in the southern country about Avignon and Marseilles, a large-eyed brown woman with black hair who would be handsome but for a certain feline mouth and general uncomfortable tightness of face, rendering the jaws too eager and the skull too prominent. There is something indefinably keen and wan about her anatomy, and she has a watchful way of looking out of the corners of her eyes without turning her head which could be pleasantly dispensed with, especially when she is in an ill humour and near knives. Through all the good taste of her dress and little adornments, these objections so express themselves that she seems to go about like a very neat she-wolf imperfectly tamed.
When I read this for the first time. I imagine Mademoiselle Hortense to look like Captain Chantel Dubois from Madagascar 3
