rights to peaceful protest no longer a thing, AND what really gets me is the fact that police can arrest you if they THINK you're going to a protest or being disruptive. you're disabled and you walk by a protest about disability rights? police can arrest you on suspicion of partaking in a protest. couple of teens hanging out on a street corner? police can arrest you if theyre having a bad day and can say you are suspected of protest.

stop and search warrants. this goes back to the protest thing. you've just been to a DIY store and have bought some DIY equipment. police can now stop and search you with no reason and say you were using that equipment to incite a protest.

anyway, this is why i have such strong feelings about percy being a part of the ocean. i love love love how nico and thalia are doubtful that he can control the river lethe, and then he just. proves them wrong in the best way possible. there are just so many moments throughout pjo that leave everyone like 👁👄👁 when they see percy do some freaky impossible thing with his powers, and this scene with the big three trio is the perfect example of that.

I know rick wasn’t as smart when he thought of percy’s powers, but now there’s so much lore and mystery behind them that i can’t help but thank him because 👀 percy could definitely be arcadian as well ahh. and in the context of poseidon’s children...something that is Quite Interesting is how they’re mainly monsters or non-humanoids. so...poseidon can be identified also as the father of monsters, which could maybe alter his other demigod children? think about it—percy is part human, but what of his godly half? could poseidon’s other nature to create monstrous beings be affecting percy somehow? 

What if, because Poseidon did truly care about Sally, the part/aspect of him passed to his son, Percy, wasn't just what that current aspect he present as was? What if, because of that love and care and compassion, Poseidon passed all of his aspects down to Percy, including Neptune? Why else would Percy know Latin? Yes, Chiron taught him Latin, but why did he even do that? Percy's Greek, not Roman.

and maybe in a hundred years we won’t be around any more, maybe yeah the planet will be a mess and we’ll all be dead, and if other people come from the stars we won’t be around to meet them and say hi! how are you! we’re people, too! you’re not alone any more!, maybe we’ll be gone

but we built robots, who have beat-up hulls and metal brains, and who have names; and if the other people come and say, who were these people? what were they like?

the robots can say, when they made us, they called us discovery; they called us curiosity; they called us explorer; they called us spirit. they must have thought that was important.
