I love this flavour of 90s furry art that can never be duplicated ever again. Like you CAN make art with Lion King characters in action blockbusters but it simply WON'T be the same.
Also draw Tim Avery from Son of the Mask. Btw

Since a lot of things in TWST has Disney references like some of the charactersā food preferences or hobbies (Idia playing board game = Hades using board games to plan, Jade collecting terrariums like Ursula, etc).
I wonder is your favorite Disney reference? Or a reference that you didnāt realize until later?
[ I have a resource on characters liked/disliked foods and the reasoning behind them! ]
I like the visual references! Like the Pain and Panic plushies in Idiaās room, the Pumbaa bank in Ruggieās room, etc. Or even just looking at a characterās new event outfits and seeing what elements of them might be inspired by the various Disney characters. I feel like Iām a detective or playing I Spy!
I also really like the references where something from a Disney film is interpreted in Twst as a local holiday or tradition. Itās really interesting to see how the classic movies influenced the culture and behaviors of entire populations. My favorite so far has got to be the Eternity Float/Forever Float, which is inspired by Ursulaās eels flipping over Eric and Arielās rowboat at the end of Kiss the Girl. The trials of love š the newlyweds overcoming them together⦠symbolizing their love being everlasting⦠Gah, itās so sweet š
"Tastes like pork!"
Soooo a headcanon of mine thatās dear to my heart and super important to me is that Simba makes a special effort to have lunch with Timon and Pumbaa at least once a week. No matter how busy he is with his royal duties, he always makes time for his dads. ā¤ļø
(I started thumbnailing this two years ago and I just now decided to finish it. This is the most complicated background Iāve attempted to paint in YEARS, so please be gentle on me. š„²)
