Watching the others approach had left Emily with feelings of hope, excitement, dread and calm acceptance. She had a pretty good idea of who it was coming to investigate her idiotic mistake. She had heard enough rumors in the city, and more than enough ‘facts’ in the last town before the ‘outback proper’ that she also has an idea that this might not end well for her.
“I most certainly am lost. That, or I have been horribly misled or sabotaged. or both!” Emily said, standing to gree the woman. She didn’t look quite like her posters, but still. Intimidating was one word. She had another few words that would be inappropriate. Tall would be the final word she used and considering she’d long since swapped out her heels for something more practical, she was feeling quite short for once. There was also the matter that she looked like a tourist out in the middle of nowhere. Which wasn’t far from the truth but image mattered and gods, she hoped this worked out for the better.
“I’m Emily. I’m glad the right sort of people found me instead!” She said, offering her hand to shake.
♛ —- THE enthusiasm in the woman’s tone and that kind glimmer in her eyes are both unwarranted and unwelcome. She should be intimidated by the Queen; she should be groveling at her feet to be spared. Outsiders are a fairly rare sight, and the residents of Junkertown ( including Jedda herself ) don’t always take well to them. While the stranger may not be aware of this, she should at least know she shouldn’t be alone in a place like this -- especially not when she is so horribly naive.
Brown eyes spare a glance toward the outstretched hand, but the Queen makes no move to shake it. On the contrary, a small laugh slips through her lips, one that develops into something fuller. She looks over at one of her bodyguards and nudges him with an elbow, grinning widely. ❝ The right sort of people. You hear that? ❞ Amusement decorates her words. Oh, it’s just so laughable, so innocent, so foolish.
A smirk still upon her lips, she turns her attention back to the redhead. ❝ That’s real cute. Do we really look like your saviors, love? ❞ Of course, she’s not going to leave someone stranded in the Outback. She’s just not quite sure she’s going to help her be on her way, either -- not without something in return. ❝ What should we help you for? We only got so much gas around here. ❞
