I think a pilot/first episode should establish a status quo. like, say, characters retain their standard default design for most of if not the whole episode. the women are in bikinis for most of the runtime. I genuinely thought that they would eventually change back or to something new, but no. they are in the most basic bikinis possible.

and none of the male characters have any such equivalent aquatic makeovers, not even ones mismatched in sexuality, like I fully expected Kit to help Gobbles equip arm floaties since he had trouble swimming. Or even a Kingdom Hearts transformation from a terrestrial dino into a plesiosaur. Miss Information was already wearing a full-body outfit prior, she couldn't have a visually-similar wetsuit? no flippers? even if breathing underwater isn't an issue, no snorkels or tanks for visual variety? Fold becomes a submersible vehicle, that's almost like a speedo, I guess.

if they wanted to introduce a situational reskin mechanic, maybe rather than a quick switchout before deciding to be in a bikini for the majority of runtime. why not cycle through multiple biomes or entire worlds to display these in short bursts rather than staying on Flappers' world the entire time? maybe that's asking too much since that'd require so much more time and work. montage, perhaps?

in short, I find the bikinis lazy and really pushing it. Nonlogical fanservice that fails to justify its presence and exacerbates to previous issues.

and also, the women are kinda useless? Kit is decked out, looking like Megaman by default and yet she's useless without Caboodle? they keep harping on this, it is a big part of the pilot. she gets held down by a bunch of robot babies? Miss Information is tied up and that's it? even kiddy's first superhero show that has this trope of "villain takes/hero otherwise loses important tool, villain gloats that they are useless without it" usually culminates in "the hero learns how to fight without the tool" or "the hero is already capable without the tool" and that never happens here. Is it not enough for Gameoverse to get Caboodle back because he is a team member and friend, as well as one of the last pieces, THE last person Kit has of her home? She can't do anything without him?

I'm expecting the justification to be that's simply how it works in Kit's game and thus she follows those rules: games like Kirby where you have an item that makes gameplay possible, damage or traps may make you lose it, and you cannot progress without picking it or a replacement back up. But I don't care. It was a massive disappointment to see Kit be talked down and have it be proven true, essentially.

Since this conflict was NOT resolved by the end of the pilot, I can only assume it will be part of her arc over the course of the show. I find this kind of insufferable but as long as it's acknowledged and dealt with. I really don't want this to be a crutch future conflicts lean on.

again, this is a pilot, so I think we should establish a status quo, like seeing how our main character team operates together like they usually are and will always be going forward. and not just in the last few minutes, or something.

I feel like pilots over the past decades have shifted from private proof-of-concepts/prototypes, to just basically being episode one. like that shit used to be kept in company vaults for artists and producers' eyes only for internal greenlighting, feedback, and to change/refine things before a proper premiere and nowadays they're being thrown out once done with 0 changes because they already have more material ready/in progress even though it's not actually greenlit yet. maybe for GLITCH it's because they're indie but I've seen this happen with things like Nick sitcoms, too

So what I'm saying is, that I hope GLITCH and the team behind Gameoverse hears these critiques and adjust accordingly. rather than sticking their fingers in their ears and heading onward without improvement because the people saying these things are mean and haters or something. Or god forbid lean into it more TTG style.
