does a gay little dance that pisses you off

i didn’t see anyone else post a detailed summary of the panel (full video, minus the psa they showed, is now linked here!) and i have nothing better to do, so here it is:

the people present were jenn tidwell (family shatters co-writer, the new rvb producer), joshua kazemi (co-writer/director of zero), joshua ornelas (machinimator, rvb17 co-director), austin clark (machinimator, rvb17 co-director), and eddy rivas (pfl co-writer, rvb fan guide writer)

reiterating the youtube announcement: we’re getting PSAs and a “new short-form Q&A style show” called Q vs A

“grif and simmons meets ‘troy and abed in the morning’” (from the tv show community) (sean hinz tweeted a clip as a hint before the panel)

the idea was born out of the desire for: more regular/consistent rvb content, community interaction, the return of old characters, testing out halo infinite now rather than during future production of something bigger

austin talked about machinimating in halo infinite. a lot of tools aren’t in infinite yet, so they’re relying on glitches and such but it’s going well so far

confirmed also: more characters besides grif and simmons will be in the q&a series. most of them written by kazemi included other characters

QvA was originally called “grimmons” LMFAOOOOOO but jenn says they didn’t want to take that from the audience so instead one of the bits will be that grif and simmons try to come up with a new name for their little format every episode

the words “foot stuff with grif and simmons” were uttered. i will not elaborate.

they unveiled some rtx 2022 merch! some classic red and blue team stuff, project freelancer logos, enamel pins, etc. (here’s the rt store!) they tossed some into the audience too LOL

the psa they showed got cut from the video💔we live in a society. i think it was written by austin! he said he was super excited to write a script with all the characters once he learned he had “access to the whole cast again” (!!!)

eddy wrote some too so we have that to look forward to

andrew rosas, who wrote the halo recap series, also wrote some

they named one more person as a writer but i couldnt catch the name </3

the psas and QvA will be released on an alternating schedule

also, they’re working on putting spanish subtitles on all the completes

and eddy is confirmed as the new voice of lopez

after the psas and QvA, they’re planning something for rvb’s 20th anniversary next year. they can’t share anything right now but jenn said “2023 will be a great year to be an rvb fan”

she also named ornelas and austin for advocating for the fans and caring about the show

eddy's fave season is s6 so true

someone asked if there’s gonna be any new locations that rvb takes places in. austin commented that it’d be cool to have more variation from just military bases. he’s also been trying to put characters inside buildings for psas, like in red base or blue base rather than the canyon outside

jenn did some rvb trivia with the audience ft merch handouts -- really easy questions LOL also i think people were tripping over the seats or whatever it was kinda chaotic
