I really wish I could find the art that inspired this, if anyone has it please tell me so i can add it to the post! It was the aftermath of Hickey successfully 'bonding' with the Tuunbaq and how neither of them got what they wanted out of it... I saw it when I first watched the show and I can't find it now 😭🙏

I really wanted to put this playlist in the 'ambient/polar phenonema' category, but it felt weirdly wrong to do that considering it's more about the arctic decaying and becoming a shell of its former self. I didn't want this playlist in the slot that's celebrating the beauty of the arctic, because this one is more explicitly meant to convey the arctic being destroyed overtime alongside Tuunbaq's and Hickey's minds. I'm a huge ambient fan and there's so many tracks I wanted to add to this, but I wanted to keep it relatively short, sweet and cohesive. By far the best discovery I made while making this playlist is Zachary Mezzo - Solo is perhaps one of the most haunting pieces of music I've ever heard. It's hard not to get chills listening to most of his work too. Check it out if you liked what you heard. I'm also going to recommend checking out Dead The Long Year's work too, their work feels massively underrated compared to the other ambient giants out there.

For day six, I replaced the prompt with this one. I've always wanted to make a playlist with genderbent Hodgving (my names for them are Grace (George) and Jane (John)) purely because of the song bad idea, this event just gave me an excuse to do so! I normally don't explain too much, but just so you have an idea of what's going on if you decide to listen:

Jane visits France for about a week, and meets Grace on the afternoon of her last night, who is playing piano on her lonesome in a city hall (first song). After that, Grace takes Jane around the city, sneaking into orchestral performances, and they hook up for the night. Almost all songs are from Grace's perspective I would say, except for bad idea lol, because Jane I imagine feels a lot guilt and shame for doing it. I wanted the playlist to have this feeling at first of the typical romance in France, which feels more sensible; then in the middle of the playlist, the songs get more personal and in their heads as they get closer to hooking up. Of course, after they've spent the night together, Jane has to go home (both out of necessity and guilt).

I had them listen to blushing! and didn't want to reveal too much except it was about two genderbent Terror characters hooking up. They said they wanted the art to look like a 'lesbian daydream'.

For @cold-boy-tapes day 2, I decided on the commute prompt. I built the playlist around the idea first of what kind of playlist Hickey would make. I think every day he is tested by wondering if he should not go home; should he go somewhere else, and escape his current situation (whether thats work... relationship issues... etc). I also used the quote from Adam Nagaitis, describing Hickey’s subconscious desires above, as a template as the type of songs I wanted to add. I wanted it to have that feeling of randomly switching through a radio station, trying to find the song that will give him the right answer. It was originally about 3 hours long, but I cut it down as much as possible x'')

If you’ve ever been to a place or a city you’ve never been to before, or even lived in a place you hated, a place far away from friends or people you know and have felt a weird familiarity/disconnect with everything at once, you might understand how this playlist is meant to feel. It’s a weird, unnerving feeling connecting to songs but feeling very out of place too. I think this feeling of alienation and unfamiliarity is something Hickey would just be dealing with on a daily basis. I tried to capture that feeling in this playlist as well as ensuring the songs were something Hickey would actually want to listen to. I hope you enjoy if you decide to listen!
