And that the “would be sequels” (aka 101 Dalmatians II: Patch’s London Adventure [Animated] and  102 Dalmatians [Live-Action]) are WAY WAY WAAAAAAAY different than the ACTUAL book’s sequel.

What IS the book’s sequel? It’s called The Starlight Barking.

The Starlight Barking is about the dogs from the first book (Pongo mostly, but lots of others) learning that they are actually technically aliens.

They find this out after waking up and finding ALL LIFE ON EARTH IS ASLEEP EXCEPT FOR DOGS!

Other things happen… but what results is the dogs of Earth (again, MOSTLY PONGO) having to make the choice of all dogs abandoning humans and the planet to “go home.”

They are asked to “go home” by Sirius… LORD OF THE DOG STAR … because the humans are about to begin a NUCLEAR WAR and Sirius wants to save all the dogs on Earth from the coming war, but that would mean ABANDONING THE HUMANS AND ALL LIFE ON THE PLANT!

The other option is to STAY on Earth and attempt to help humanity grow, learn, and be better… to again, AVOID NUCLEAR WAR!

So again, TLDR:

Book 1: Evil rich lady wants a dog coat.

Book 2: Dogs are aliens, humans are about to go on an all out war, dogs decide humanity is worth saving and -stay- to help avoid war.
