These, then, are the coordinates of a life structured by psychosis and lived outside madness: an open ego, the unconscious as a function of the ego through enigma and epiphany, and the transformation of an invasive, disorganising jouissance into a new construction, the sinthome. For the psychotic structure, incandescent alphabets carry the jouissance of the subject, and when they are used to make a new social link, we see a construction that is not delusion.

finished quilt top #3! this pattern is “garden glow,” designed by toad and sew, in the cover colors.
Today the icebreaker question at my morning staff meeting was "what's something common that you've never done." And I said I've never used AI (true) and one of my coworkers tried to trick me into admitting I've used it by asking if I've used Siri and I had to explain that my life is much more low tech than most of my coworkers can imagine. This is something I'm quite proud of (maybe unfairly, it's not really a moral thing) but I got even prouder when the response to me explaining my life was "oh my god" with shock that I don't own a TV
While singing one of the hymns at church last night I realized that the hymns has like two bars that are the same melody as Don't Cry For Me Argentina and I would bet my life Andrew Lloyd Webber picked it up from that hymn and expanded on it for the song.
Easter Vigil last night gave me some new Locked Tomb thoughts:
-Do we think Harrow would love or hate the Valley of the Dry Bones? It is quite literally raising skeletons which she would love but then there's all this lesser (according to her) flesh and spirit magic which she would hate.
-Tasmyn Muir actually did a fucking incredible job representing the holy trinity as a singular being in John Gaius. I know there's other more obvious Holy Trinity metaphors (I see you, Gideon Jesus) but nobody talks about how Jod is all three. God- literally in the story he is God, creator of the universe post- Resurrection, but also Jesus (for he became flesh, was human), and the Holy Spirit- breath of life to the world. His life/breath literally sustains the sun- the life (and light!) of the world. There's something about the connection between Jod's life, which implies breath, and God's breath as the Holy Spirit being one and the same that is so well encapsulated in the Dominicus flare. Also! The overlapping of Jesus and Holy Spirit in Dominicus (life and light of the world), sustained through the life and existence of God/Jod is actually so good.
i need feminism because when jesus does a magic trick it’s a goddamn miracle but when a woman does a magic trick she gets burned at the stake
fabulous
i mean they did also kill jesus. that was a pretty significant thing that happened. like i understand where you’re coming from here but they very much did kill jesus.

I used to live in fear of running out of the right colored embroidery floss partway through a project and the color being discontinued and never being able to finish the project right. But I just remembered that happened to me once and I bought six shades of gray and took individual threads from the six strand embroidery floss in different shades and mixed them to successfully color match the original thread for the project. So now I have an unbeatable hubris
obsessed with the implications about the social construction of mental illness that wei wuxian's affectation of madness/queerness represent in mo xuanyu's body. Endless opportunities for demonstrating exactly what Foucault and szasz were talking about.
life's been quite rough lately, had to draw my comfort character

i'm so face blind that i didn't even realize that mia goth played both the role of victor's mother and love interest in frankenstein (2025) until someone pointed it out

Nothing demonstrates the power of reading comprehension like the time my best friend (an English major and now English teacher) texted me about 20 pages into (her first read!) Harrow the Ninth with her guess about how the book ends and she was 100% right including a lot of details I didn't get until my second read through.
as someone who is deeply invested in a psychodynamic analysis of the world and cherishes what attachment theory has given us I'm BEGGING you all to recognize and discuss the deeper layers of meaning in Frankenstein and not just leave it all at "mommy/daddy issues" PLEASE
