He would obviously be absolutely horrified by it, he frantically tells Grace about it, honking and shaking because this is such a perverse breach of trust to him, how can humans do something like that??

But, for the next weeks he cannot stop thinking about it, it is so disgusting and atrocious, so deviant, he's sure Grace would never do that to him right? His best friend in the galaxy, alone with him on this ship where no one could save him, taking advantage of his vulnerable paralyzed body as he's dead to the world.

and making everything a thing of Destiny fucking suuucks. i liked it when it was a "wow, gee, alice directly inspired rob to go into paranormal studies, thus causing this unbreakable chain of torment, you couldn't fight this if you wanted to, the universe is a cruel uncaring place" thing, but making it a PURPOSEFUL thing on the behalf of what is basically GOD is like. this is worse.

i don't like that The Road has a single, definite order of events. like, you meet the hitchhiker, then you go into the horrible suburbs, then you go into the woods, whatever whatever whatever. again, horror is based in the unknown. i think it'd be cool if there were singular events that could happen in any order, with there also being events that foreshadow future events - like, you'd never see Wintery Bay before meeting the hitchhiker, yeah?

i really like the idea of there being pitstops along the road - at some point in the story, rob explains how The Road is both luring people in (making food and fuel last longer) and trying to repel them (The Horrors). i think there should be stops where they can fuel up and also pee somewhere that's not in a bottle or in the woods. i also really like the idea of Alice going into the bathroom by herself, being in the stall, and hearing someone come in and the light flickers. she tucks her feet up so they rest on the toilet seat and aims her gun so if someone opens her stall she can shoot instantly. and she's like "i don't call out if anyone's there. best case scenario, someone's trying to scare the shit out of me and i can get on their ass about it later. worst case scenario, whatever's in the with me? i won't like its response." or something or other

they should run into other people on the road!!! and it should be up in the air whether they're real people or creations of The Road!!! and it's like the hitchhiker planting memories of you letting him into the car into your head - the fake people integrate into groups and plant memories of always having been there.

i really like the idea of everyone being constantly paranoid other people in their party are sabotaging the trip and are being swayed by The Road. is this paranoia an effect of The Road, or do they just think it is?
