Born and raised in a tumultuous environment, Joseph's childhood was marked by instability and hardship. His mother battled severe depression, and his father was absent, leaving young Joe to navigate a chaotic world on his own. These early experiences ignited his interest in understanding the human mind and emotions, propelling him to excel academically and eventually pursue a career in psychology.
Joseph's academic prowess quickly earned him a reputation as a brilliant student. However, his charisma led to a series of romantic entanglements, where he became known for winning and breaking hearts in equal measure. At the age of 20, he became a sperm donor for a slightly older woman who was desperate to become a mother. Unbeknownst to him, this act resulted in him fathering triplets.
During his residency, Jomet the love of his life, Sarah, who worked in management at the hospital. Their relationship was tumultuous, characterized by a constant "will they, won't they" dynamic. Both had numerous other relationships over the years, yet they always found their way back to each other. They eventually married, but their union was short-lived. Sarah's struggle with alcoholism drove a wedge between them, leading to their separation.
After his divorce, Joseph returned to Aurora Bay, where he established himself as a successful psychiatrist. This period marked a significant personal development for him, as he finally achieved financial stability and independence. Shortly after his return, he met his second wife, Olivia, and their whirlwind romance led to an elopement and the joyous news of a pregnancy. Tragically, Olivia passed away during childbirth, leaving Joseph to raise their son alone. Joe's son became the center of his world, and fatherhood brought him immense joy and purpose. Balancing his demanding career with single parenthood, Joe found solace and strength in his role as a father. Through all the challenges and heartaches, Joseph emerged resilient, using his experiences to become a compassionate and dedicated psychiatrist, committed to helping others navigate their own paths of healing and self-discovery.
He was quickly reminded of the donation he made in his early years, when the triplets showed up on his doorstep, now 20 themselves. Despite his upbringing, Joe had grown very family oriented over the years so naturally he took them in - and he was happy living in his little family bubble. Joseph became the center of attention when someone was pushed off a balcony at a house party he held. His entire family became suspects but there was never any evidence to prove who did it, until there was another murder, the current boyfriend of his youngest triplet, Harry's ex girlfriend. Joseph never questioned it, but with the police on Harry's tail, it didn't take long for the police to figure it all out. This left Joseph heartbroken and spiraling himself - psychiatry was something he did for a living and he couldn't even figure out one of his children was struggling.
He spent six months spiraling after that, barely looking after his 10 year old son and the other two children he had - even though they were adults. Now Joseph has found himself back at work, a little moodier and grumpier, still shellshocked by his son's actions but he is doing a lot better than he was.
