the frustrating thing with a lot of soap pregnancy plots is that usually there isn't a lot of depth given as to why a woman going through a difficult, often traumatic pregnancy would choose to carry it to term over having an abortion.

and she kinda did ? because charity carrying her granddaughter's baby was a crazy decision to make after miscarrying before, nevermind the cheating and the ross sperm of it all. but no, they had to ruin this perfectly insane soapy storyline with f/f rape so neither of the issues get the care and attention they deserve

#yeah i feel like they're diluting how traumatic it is for charity to go through another pregnancy (where she almost died giving birth)#when her five previous pregnancies were really fraught and have spanned from her teens to her 50s #and we could have had a fallout that empathised with her over that while also addressing the betrayal sarah and jacob and mack feel #also sarah understood why vic didn't want to be her surrogate but didn't address any of that with charity which i've always found a bit ???#emmerdale spoilers
