everybody’s mom/grandma, whether they like it or not. she’s great at listening, and her mouth is like fort knox. karoline gives great advice, most of it’s probably unsolicited, and is dependable. also, she’s an actual mother, and probably a grandma. has a ton of biological and adopted kids, bc she has so much fucking love to give. at least one of her children is a ranger, but others could be involved with ppdc. karol’s husband is a hippie, and probably also a scientist/cryptozoologist. her beautiful head is full of decades of wisdom, and scientific knowledge. she was born and raised in canada, but has lived in australia and japan before she moved to hong kong to work for the ppdc. she was part of the first team of scientists to research kaiju. fluent in english, french, and japanese; currently learning mandarin chinese. wine aficionado. though she has a brain, she never claims to be very smart, only knowledgable in the field she has studied for most of her life.

british as fuck. raised in high society. one half of a set of twins. born to be a politician’s wife. military family going back generations. first female comstock to join the ranks. badass mother fucking fighter pilot. recruited by the PPDC to fly for them. decided she wanted to be a ranger instead. callsign - blondie; very original. hardcore badass with her copilot. fell in love (whoops). almost died. lost her jaeger (tempest invader) instead. offered a new jaeger if she moved shatterdomes, so she did. left her ex behind (except she still loves him). rockstar in the PPDC, trying to continue that.

basically drunk all the time. grew up in foster care with her brother. super codependent like what. joined the PPDC to follow in his footsteps. piloted a jaeger with him for a year before he was killed. lost her left leg below the knee. awesome street brawler, so now she teaches. generally a raging asshole. mean because she hates being close to anyone. don’t make fun of the carolina drawl. could kick your ass with only one leg and her eyes closed. also possibly while drunk. internally just a very sad puppy, okay.

NOVA CAMPBELL - 33 // weapons engineer \ priyanka chopra

I need Benson, Audrey’s mentor/partner in Australia. They were partners for ten years. At first, Audrey resented, she didn’t need a baby sitter. But they grew close over the years. Too close. Audrey fell in love with him, and vice versa even though they never said anything. One morning, he left to become a Ranger without a word to Audrey, leaving her heartbroken.

Then she got transfered to Hong Kong after a fallout from a case and guess whose there? Benson! Cue all the angst and sorting out muddled feelings and attempting to get back together as friends and maybe more than friends if they just admit it already.

but yes hi! i have three charries in the works, i’ll do quick blurbs. most of them need p much anything so always feel free to poke and prod at me so we can work things out!!

first up is nikolaos kyriakou (matthew daddario), younger brother of nyssa and her co-pilot in their jaeger. he’s a former olympic gold medallist and he’s still sorta proud of that. got disowned by his parents when he and his sis signed up for the jaeger problem. has a bit of a reputation for sleeping around. he’s terrible at relationships and only does them with guys, cos he’s figured out he’s into them more than girls. needs everything tbh. bf, flings, people who work on his jaeger, you name it!

then i have divya adhikari (dichen lachman), my lil’ doctor lady. she’s a mum and she has every part of her life figured out except her love life xD needs everything except a baby daddy! lovers, exes, co workers (she’s deputy head of medical at the shatterdome), all the thindgs!

fergus griffen / 29 / ranger

is probably a plant, he hangs around them enough anyway.

accidentally found out he wasn’t straight mid first drift w the dude he had a not straight crush on. it went surprisingly well.

an aggressive dad type even tho he doesn’t want people to know that. don’t disappoint him, it hurts.

lara rosario / 35 / research lead(??)

tiny, powerful ball of sunshine.

not above crying to get her way.

used to specialize in pediatrics, now mostly regrets that as the only kids she sees now are dead or dying from kaiju blue.

could probably fight a kaiju without a jaeger at this point.

nyssa kyriakou / 31 / ranger (phoenix machai)

stubborn, headstrong and no-nonsense, nyssa was raised as an athlete. the daughter of professional sports people, she was pushed to pursue archery from a young age, which she did, to the exclusion of all else. she represented her country, greece, at the 2008 and 2012 olympic games, winning bronze twice.

at the height of jaeger fever, nyssa and her younger brother both signed up for the academy, never expected to be paired together and then (surprise!) ended up to be drift compatible despite being total opposites. 

her work ethic has never diminished, neither has the effort she puts into her training. but now that her goals have changed a little, nyssa finds herself a lot happier, if as straight laced as always.
