 ik if it’s not your fave band you probably haven’t read into it SO:

10k of 5Sos’ albums were sent out by ticketmaster a few DAYS earlier than their release date.

SO Billboard TOOK AWAY their scheduled release week and debuted them 4 days early at #62 counting ONLY those 10k albums and eliminating streams.

let me remind you-  this accident HAS happened to other artists such as harry styles, but their debut week and sale count was NOT taken from them.

despite having 10k sales and days of streams taken away- they jumped to #2 selling just 2k less albums less than The Weeknds (the #1 album) in their official release week.

BUT overall-  5Sos’ album sold 13k MORE albums than The Weeknds during it’s release week (144k total).

 SO if that 10k was counted during their correct release week they would have debuted at #1.

this mess has changed 5Sos’ band history- breaking their record of only #1 albums and 

Billboard has since then BLOCKED people addressing this mistake and tho Rolling Stones and Forbes have spoken about it, Billboard remains silent.

Billboard has been exposed for potentially partnering with Rebublic Records, connecting their past “release mistakes” with this one.
