Rain:Â Iâm gonna get fat if you keep feeding me these chips and all that other junk!
Mountain: IâM NOT! I was eating them, and you took them!
Rain:Â You said I should try some!
Mountain: I said they were good.
Rain:Â Thatâs not how I heard it.
tl;dr: all "algorithmically" pushed stuff on a newsfeed is mostly ads. nothing that's really surprising form this vulture article, but it is dismal and makes me grateful for one website where you only see things from people you follow WITHOUT horrible short-form video content
Thoughts under the cut as someone thatâs relatively young and new to the Ghumblr
TLDR: Itâs their fucking kitchen. Cook what YOU want.
As someone whoâs had unsupervised internet access since I was 11-ish (for the record, I turn 21 this year) itâs definitely had its negative impacts on my psyche and I shouldnât have been reading some of the shit I did back in the day. (The Well-Known Horrific shit, milk fic, hat fic, A Bunch of ABO, kidnapping etc etc).
( I was also in the BNHA fandom in 2021-2022 and I went through the whole âIf you like Shigaraki, youâre a bad person.â shit.)
However, through this process, I learned what content I like to read, and what I wouldnât touch in a HAZMAT suit.
What I donât do, and whatâs deplorable behavior is harassing grown ass individuals online for the fictional stories that they decided to write in their own free-time. Dead Dove: Do Not Eat exists for a reason. Of course thereâs fics that I see and Iâm like âOh! Ok, I donât want to read that at all, it makes me feel bad.â And most, if not all of those fics commonly include things like rape, incest, or underaged characters.
But I just scroll and keep it pushing because itâs not that deep and it never has been. I donât like to read the fic, but I absolutely support someone elseâs right to post what they want and be freaky. Iâm not yucking someoneâs yum if no real life harm is occurring.
Merriam Webster defines fantasy as âthe power or process of creating especially unrealistic or improbable mental images in response to psychological needâ.
Just because someone writes about V as a wolf chasing them through a forest and getting knotted doesnât mean they would actively seek out a wolf in a forest in real life. (Happy CreaturePerpetuaMonth btw) That would be heavily immoral and nonsensical.
For context: I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Iâve thought the worst things of the worst imaginable about myself, pictured it, cried about it, ruminated for DAYS over it, etc. A fic a serial killer sent me into one of the worst episodes Iâve ever had. (Fun Fact: OCDâs main trick is that it tells you that your thoughts are real, and convince you that you are a bad person, you will commit these atrocities, etc.) To this day I still canât comfortably read fics where someone is a depicted in the story as a serial killer or murderer because of how badly it could trigger me.
So I Donât Read It.
Want to know something funny though? Sometimes I do read some of the fic that make me uncomfortable, just for the sake of reading them to appreciate the story telling and how characters interact with each other. Or out of curiosity. (Obviously I still have hard noâs, no matter the character work and yes Iâm extremely squeamish, but hey thereâs smut at the end of the chapter, I can trudge through some guts to get to the porn.)
Iâll give another example for added nuance:
I enjoy medical malpractice and dubious consent with a doctor and patient. The thrill of the forbidden is extremely common in this sense and many others. And thatâs what draws me in.
But my worst nightmare as a black AFAB person in America is to be mistreated or hurt in a medical setting. (Worse than Iâve already been, mind you.)
The same thing applies to every other topic of dark fanfiction. Thereâs a pedophile and a rapist running the country I live in who is actively threatening the rights of everyone and everything I associate myself with. Queer and Trans people, disabled folks, women, children, poor people, every single person of color. I despise the things heâs done.
And yet, Iâll hit Kudos on something I know for a fact I wonât like.
Some of the best Ghestie fanfiction is from people who are on The Spreadsheet. The world building and attention to detail is incredible. This is a very funny and unserious fandom thatâs full of so much creativity and love. Most of the ghouls have names because the fandom GAVE them names. Their designs operate the same way. Thatâs incredible to me.

yeah there IS something really hot about rubbing a girl's clit over their panties. they wanna feel your hands directly on them but the fabric gives such delicious friction.
"shit, you're so wet. your panties are fucking soaked through. is this how you touch yourself when you're alone? over your panties and under the blanket because you're too shy to take them off? because it feels so good with your panties clinging to your cunt and rubbing against your clit?"
clitwarming holy shit . just holding my tongue and mouth against her . making out with her pussy nice and slow and teasing, letting her try and grind into my mouth onto my tongue until shes begging for me to actually eat her out and then i hold her legs down and make her regret ever asking
You can enjoy things in fiction that would be awful in the real world. Like playing a murderhobo in a game! In the real world, being or supporting a murderer-thief would be pretty damn awful, while in the game it's just good fun. Same with anything else you choose to do with the pixels on the screen, like kinks that don't affect anyone real, so they're okay in fiction, but would be pretty damn bad in real life.
No one else is responsible for your online experience. They are required not to harass you, but they are not and never will be obligated to not post about ships, kinks, or tropes you dislike just to avoid you seeing them. It's up to you to blacklist words or phrases, block tags, or even block users as needed to avoid seeing content that upsets you.
No one can force you to read anything against your consent. Any content you don't like seeing can be instantly avoided by closing out of the offending post/fic.
You are not owed an online experience free of discomfort.
Nothing that happens in your imagination can ever make you a bad person. Words you write or read about fictional characters will never make you a bad person.
The claim that media consumption influences real-life behavior is intellectually dishonest and serves only to excuse the behavior of real offenders.
Fiction is a safe way to explore horrifying or confusing concepts. Therapists agree that fiction, even (or especially) about taboo topics is a good coping mechanism, especially, but not exclusively, for trauma survivors. Fiction is to adults what play therapy is to children. This doesn't stop being true if the work in question is of a sexual nature.
Sex isn't an inherently worse or better motivation than anything else. A work written to create feelings of arousal isn't dirty, shameful, or in any way less pure than works written to entertain, provoke moral questions, or for other reasons. And worth noting is that multiple purposes can exist in the same story, especially fanfiction.
You aren't entitled to an explanation for why someone reads, writes, or otherwise enjoys certain works, kinks, tropes, ships, etc.

I'm reworking the zip-off goth jorts right now, reconstructing the whole thing from ground up without any care for how it was arranged before I took it apart. So in case anyone's wondering what the hell the goth jorts are, they're my project where I turned a pair of black jeans into zip-off jorts, where the leg parts are attached mainly with a harness-like system with chain and buckles and stuff. So I when I zip the leg parts off and unattach the harness (which is tied to my belt up at the top), they'll just be regular black jean shorts.
I have also illustrated the potential secret, forbidden third technique: Pant legs and belt, no pants.
My resolution last year was to do one thing before bed that would make my morning feel easier, and thatâs become a daily habit that Iâm carrying into this new year.
Some nights even filling up the kettle and setting an empty mug out for my morning tea felt hard. But I was always thankful for it in the morning.
Other nights, one thing would lead to another, and Iâd wake up in a clean house with everything ready to go.
And, on a rare few nights, the one thing that I could do to make my morning easier was going straight to bed and allowing myself to rest.
What stayed the same each day is that I would take a moment to think of what I could do for my future self and do it, even after a hard day. And I would wake up knowing that I had done my best and any effortâno matter how smallâwas a kindness to myself.

Visa is embedding its payment network into ChatGPT, allowing the chatbot to shop and complete transactions for users.
Visa said Wednesday that it has embedded its payment network inside of ChatGPT, empowering the chatbot to independently shop and complete transactions on behalf of its user.
It means AI agents can not only recommend products but complete the purchase on the userâs behalf, at potentially any merchant that accepts Visa. The payment networkâs previous attempts at this technological leap were confined to a single retailer or a small set of enrolled merchants.
To be clear: simply having a Visa card isn't a risk for you. Not yet, anyway. You'll have to intentionally link your account to ChatGPT, then go shopping with the chatbot. If you don't do that, you're safe.
Dunno what stupidity they're planning next, but for now? ChatGPT isn't going to rack up $1000 of cat toys without your knowledge unless you're an active ChatGPT user.
Can i say something stupid but I think is funny? Cool, cause I was going to anyways-
Twilight au but Rain is Edward and Phantom is Bella but also he is weirdly into how unusual and off putting Rain is in ways that are kind of alarming to everyone, including Rain
