Below the readmore is a list of tags (religion + alterhumanity related) you should add to your blacklist if you donāt want to see them. You should also filter any reclaimed slurs you are uncomfortable with. I don't tag those words in textposts, but will tag them if the post is only an image and thus won't be caught by a blacklist.

Iām not a hellenic polytheist btw; Iām a Norse pagan who also worships/works with some deities from other pantheons. I tag thingsĀ āhelpolā for organization purposes only.
you should also block ā#vulture cultureā if you need to.

If youāre trans and donāt fall under the social umbrellas of being mad or deformed outside of that, then I want you to look very carefully at why, exactly, conservatives keep trying to shove transness under those umbrellas. The reason is that if they can do that, then they can treat you like they treat us.
Forcible treatment and institutionalization for your own good. Being pressed out of sight because youāre not decent to see. Having to accept being treated like dirt because itās the best way you can find to be treated. Being systemically considered defective, and the system straining to either correct you or dispose of you so that you are no longer interfering.
The wins that are gained by arguing that trans people are not us leave those of us who are trans and mad and/or deformed behind. They are much easier victories to overturn than looking to dismantle the idea that madness and deformity are in need of forcible correction- or that they need to be corrected at all, so long as we are happy.
I'm also like begging every perisex person on here to remember intersex people exist. If you're talking about people with a specific sex characteristic please just say "people with [specific sex characteristic]". Nothing makes you look stupider than saying "afabs" when you mean "people with uteruses" or saying "men and pre-op transfems" when you mean "people with testes". There is already a vested social interest in oppressing intersex people please do not contribute to making them invisible.

I think it is the result of an incredibly frustrating melding of reactionary panic from our community starting to come into the public eye and catch the ire of conservative politics causing younger members to want to act like it's an all fun cute innocent and toothless identity, similar to what we saw with the "uwu cinnamon roll soft boy" phase of the trans man community a few years ago, and of current social media trends pushing for cute, short, snappy and highly aestheticized content over introspective longform writing.
I think to some degree, the sharp decline of reading comprehension skills in America is also contributing, because writing a long post that people don't fully comprehend is not rewarded in nearly the same way something short and shallow is.
I feel like as a community we've lost a considerable amount of our culture because of it. It's flooded us with misinformation. It's flooded us with images of unhealthy, distressed, wild animals in human situations being passed off as cute and relatable reaction images. It's turned almost every bit of information about how to engage with your kintype away from actually doing anything and towards mindless consumerism and shopping lists.
I'm very thankful for my few chat rooms with likeminded animals who both have fun with their identity and actually explore it beyond aesthetics and come up with ways to engage that involve taking actions in the real world.
I genuinely don't care if wearing a collar and posting "me typing on my silly puppy pawz!! :D" is all someone's nonhumanity amounts to. If that's what they want to do, that's great. I'm glad they know what feels good to them. My issue is when that becomes the main kind of content that gets rewarded for existing, to the point that people who want something deeper than that feel like they have to try to make a whole new community for it because there must be something different and wrong with them, and then the new community they carve for themselves gets filled with puppyposting again, and the cycle repeats until people who are more serious with their identity feel like there is nowhere they are allowed to exist and interact with each other. This rapid expansion and then displacement just makes our whole community hemorrhage out when we could be coming together.
Idk. I'm very grumpy about this. If you're going to take anything away from this post, please don't let it be "I should be ashamed of being silly" because that really isn't the point. Let it be something more like an invitation to reflect on the ways your engagement with the community have been consumeristic and maybe try finding a few longer reflective posts about therianthropy and giving them some love. I'm sure the authors would be delighted to get a few comments or some questions about what they said. At our core we are a community based around a lumping of shared experiences. It's never been about the labels or gear or what an animal looks like. Lets show some love for those shared experiences. I'm sure we have more of them than we think.

btw you dont haveto do anything but if the only time you think about or interact with things about plurals or fictionfolk is when its part of a joke then maybe consider why we're only a joke to you.
even if you dont conciously think of us that way, we do notice that 99% of what people say about us that anyone actually cares about is jokes (in the case of fictionfolk especially, usually at our expense). we are not a joke. dont treat us like jokes. we exist outside the concept of jokes.
I have to say something that is absolutely a win for goths is how many times bands that say they're absolutely not goth have gone 'goth music is SO silly we're going to make a song that's 'goth' that's SO cliche to show that it SUCKS' and then the song gets really popular among goths
it really does feel like a lot of autistic people on tumblr are looking for any possible opportunity to make fun of other autistic people & especially autistic people worse off than them
condescending reading comprehension questions & making fun of people who only read fanfiction and watch cartoons & making fun of picky eaters & "you people can't do anything" & "you can't even ask for ketchup" & "guys gullible is written on the ceiling" and i see these posts reblogged by people i otherwise consider good and kind people and people i consider my friends and it makes it extremely scary to talk about my own experiences for fear of being made fun of by people who should like... understand
like yeah you guys respect me and treat me like the adult that i am NOW but will you continue to do so if i say that my parents or girlfriend have to order food for me in restaurants. if i tell you that i have ARFID so severe my safe food list is less than twenty items long (and that i have no interest in exposure therapy to change that). if i ask for clarification when you make a joke you think should be obvious. if i tell you i only read comics & watch tv marketed for children. if i can't cook. if i play pokemon games over & over. if i can't work. if i can't clean. if i can't live alone. how autistic am i allowed to be before my friends start treating me differently. how autistic am i allowed to be before i become the target of ridicule

"Women are warm and nurturing and they have powerful intuitions!" is benevolent sexism. Benevolent sexism upholds misogyny by praising women for things women are "supposed" to be good at and romanticizing roles women are "supposed" to play under a patriarchal system.
Also, like, benevolent sexist stereotypes are definitely used to make those who don't fit them feel like failures as women (especially queer women/trans women/woc/neurodivergent women/etc).
And on the flip side, they're also used to deny women who are skilled at those things credit for their accomplishments. It's easy for people to dismiss an excellent childcare worker when her "~magical gender intuition makes her naturally good at it~".
