#Talking about the puzzle
Itโs really heartbreaking. The comic shows that even though Wagstaff used to be a con man, loved making money, and repeatedly made other survivors work for him, he absolutely regarded Woodrow as family. ๐ฅฒ
Not only did he stop them when the robot incident went too far, but even after it happened, he continued researching the portal while also taking time to care for Woodrow's physical body, keeping them alive, waiting for the day when WX might return to that body.
But WX had already made up their mindโat the end of the comic, they just glanced toward the Constant and left...
And the toast with the IV bag shows that Wagstaff still treated the unconscious body lying there as Woodrow. When he smiled, it seemed he truly believed that one day Woodrow would choose to come back, wake up, and work with him again... But right after that toast came the battle with the Celestial Scion, and Wagstaff directly went missing/died, aaaaaaah...
In the end, he still couldn't save Woodrow or himself...
Doing all the puzzle-solving myself, laughing and crying, that's how I'm suffering ().
Because I realized Klei didn't intend to bring Woodrow back to life in this update or use them as a comeback pawnโit's the opposite. With Wagstaff missing/dead, the real-world Woodrow has no one to take care of them, and their death is near. They had no choice but to wrap up that storyline. Basically, this story update officially declares Woodrow's death, and the past is no longer a burden for WX.
Klei, my heart is broken... I just wanted the moon mentor and apprentice duo to be okay...
And it feels like Wagstaff and Woodrow are very similarโboth are the kind of people who stubbornly go their own way. So after Woodrow abandoned their own body, Wagstaff still insisted on preserving it, because he believed he was doing the right thing and wanted Woodrow to have a way back someday.
But as WX, Woodrow had already made up their mind never to be human again. Wagstaff's actions only angered them, and that's how the rift between them formed...
