quick lighting practice w/ reference!

maybe not entirely a piece about the movie but the piece i made to process it

his name is Ikaron, hes a trans man and cousin to Ulixes, though they're not close. i've got two paintings featuring him so far, one in martanaise during the strike when he got stuck out there intending to visit Ulixes over break and investigate the end of the radio game broadcast from there, and a second one of him working on his thesis for grad school!

he's studying radio-entroponetics and interisolary communications, with the goal of getting the towers within the pale to a state of self-sufficiency enough that they don't need someone to constantly man them and be exposed to so much pale and latitude compression (ouch). he's terrified of the pale and decided to study it really hard to hopefully become less afraid but ended up getting really into radio frequency and networks lol--

he's big into wirral and all genres of techy stuff. i'm having fun come up with the way he processes things - i'm currently working on a set of skills for him (i know thats harrys thing but ikaron can have a quiet internal dialogue too i know i do). but because of how much computer stuff he does on a daily basis he relates himself to technology a lot, says/thinks things like whether he has the bandwidth for more information or the signals got crossed in his brain.

inspired partially by [this song] he spurred himself on to research into radio tech and that sent him into his feild now. it was sort of a joint effort between the voice spouting radio jargon that seemed to cole from inside his head and his incredible fear of the pale. i imagine when he was young he heard himself years and years in the future through the fragments of entroponetic radiation between the wavelengths of the radioman's voice. he never heard that voice again but it kind of stuck with him until he heard those same words coming out of his own mouth.
