Okay, we all know that Carlisle is extremely generous with his gift-giving, but can we spare a minute to talk about how frugal the pious Christian (Puritan) Carlisle is with himself? He hunts "gracefully" because he doesn't want to rip the clothes he would continue to wear for the next decade; didn't have his own car until the 1950s (which was a gift from Rosalie) and after that, he still wouldn't drive it if it wasn't a long trip, and would run miles from the suburbs to work every day just to save on fuel costs; collects coupons, knows all the of the big sales and good second-hand markets (yes his antique furniture is not his collection for a hobby, it's something he started picking up since the 17th century that other people throw away); never turns on the lights, with vampire vision lighting would be a waste, feels nostalgic? the guy makes his own candles; Shampoo? No, disinfectant......

Being autistic kinda feels like that one scene in twilight where they're teaching vampire bella how to act human. Blink three times a minute, humans dont like it if you stare at something for too long, make sure ur breathing, sit down if they do.
