bc we can't donate our bodies to science and drs don't study on larger bodies. Medications aren't made for us bc we're often excluded from scientific studies. We're systematically excluded and then blamed for poorer outcomes.

I don't care whether you 'like' looking at me or bodies like mine; we deserve equal access to healthcare [all caps].

Not seeing many people talk about this on Tumblr, so gonna spread the word myself: Webtoon is going to start using AI for translations and an AI chat bot with comic characters. If you're against this you should delete your account, and if you are publishing on the website, you should consider moving to other alternatives and especially having your own website to host your comic.

Also needless to say that Webtoon can absolutely afford to hire translators, this is just yet another way to not pay the people who are making the company behind Webtoon absurdly rich.

I think Bernadette was the first trans person I ever saw in media. I first watched Priscilla, Queen of the Desert when I was about 5 & it immediately became one of my favourite films. My love for it has evolved over time ofc, but it's been a favourite for over 30 years now.

By today's standards having a cis-man playing a trans-woman may be considered inappropriate, but for the time I'm still impressed with how sensitively she's portrayed.

Terence Stamp made Bernadette a real person, she's strong, feminine, beautiful, bitchy, kind, stern, complex, & compassionate. She's fully realised & authentic, so much so that I didn't even realise she was played by a man until I was well into my teens (probably too late tbh 🙈). The way she reacts to Adam dead naming her stuck with me forever, it imprinted that it was wrong to do that before I even knew a word for it.

it's not a hot take to say that the mass amnesia about fiberwork is linked to the belittlement of women's work in geneal, but i do think there's a special kind of illusion that is cast by "cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the children." you hear that and think "well i cook and clean and take care of children (or i know someone who does) and i have a sense of how much work that is" and you know of course that cooking and cleaning were more laborious before modern technology, but still, you have a ballpark estimate you think, when in fact you are drastically underestimating the work load.
