The dog and Tom Hardy spot each other. There is a moment of mutual recognition of each other’s extreme excellence at Being a Dog. Love at first sight.

The dog and Tom Hardy bond. Tom Hardy comments at length on the dog’s excellence. Perhaps he rolls around on the floor with the dog, laughing delightedly. 

The dog must leave. Tom Hardy is inwardly distraught, but puts a good face on it.

The dog, being a dog, does not put a good face on it. They must be forcibly parted.

Tom Hardy, driving away, meditates on what a good dog that dog was.

I spent a lot of my childhood trying to shun my Indian heritage to fit into school — anything to be like everyone else and not be bullied. I didn’t want to be different. And then I had this lightbulb moment when I went to Bombay at seventeen years old to shoot the film Slumdog Millionaire and I discovered this city with Danny Boyle. Every preconceived notion I had in my head was completely turned on its head and I fell in love. I was inspired.
