happy pride month to all the queer kids and adults that deserve to see their love and their identities represented on screen
what is it with queer people and cottages???
iām so serious.
cottage core lesbians, good omens, heated rivalry, etc. etc.
i was obsessed with cottages way before i knew i was queer or that cottages were a thing so many queer people were associated with.
is it in our dna? is it an inherent trait? why are we so drawn to cottages?
i demand answers
i love having polite discussions with people that have different opinions on the finale than me
Hope this helps
honestly i think the thing that most people are missing about the finale is that it wasnāt meant to be entirely happy.
they werenāt giving us asa and anthony and being like āhere you go, these are exactly like aziraphale and crowley, now you donāt have to be sadā.
no, the ending was meant to be bittersweet and devastating and it was meant to cause people to sob violently.
it did what it was supposed to do. they werenāt trying to act like it was a perfectly happy ending or act like aziraphale and crowley got exactly what they wanted.
this isnāt even in defense of the finale, and iām not even trying to convince anyone that it was good. iām just saying that some people arenāt understanding the intent.
it wasnāt like jobās children, because for job, god and the angels tried to act like job should be happy with his ānew and improvedā children.
but the good omens finale was meant to be heartbreaking. it was meant to hurt, and it did exactly that. again, bittersweet.
you donāt have to agree that it was a fitting ending or that it was satisfying or that you are okay with it being sad. you can hate it.
but it did what it was supposed to do. they werenāt trying to replace aziraphale and crowley with asa and anthony and act like they were exactly the same.
idk just my thoughts iām kinda rambling also if you disagreeāiāve said this on another postābut i would love to here other perspectives

can i just start by saying that whatever you thought about the finale and whatever it made you feel is so valid.
whether you loved it, hated it, or something in between, you are valid.
however, we donāt want to harass the creators, writers, actors, etc.
because at the end of the day, even if it wasnāt good (which i think is debatable), it wasnāt a harmful ending.
it wasnāt homophobic or harmful to the queer community. it didnāt try to teach queer people a lesson that they didnāt need to learn, it wasnāt hateful towards queer people, and it wasnāt harmful.
say what you want about the finale, but it ended with two gay men* being explicitly in love in more universe than one.
iām not trying to say the ending was perfect or that you canāt hate it or be mad or feel devastated (because iām pretty devastated). it just doesnāt give people the right to harass the people involved.
*theyāre not exactly men because angels and demons donāt really have a gender but like close enough
also iād like to add that if you think itās harmful please tell me why. iām not entirely closed-minded and iām willing to hear other perspectives.
With only a few days left until the Good Omens finale I just want to stand in covenent with the other fans, hold your hands and say it's going to be okay. No matter what happens, it's going to be fine. The fundamental text has not changed and fan fiction is forever. It'll all work out even if the ending sucks.
