A weird sort of bittersweet feeling coiled in Jason’s stomach when he looked at his body now. That feeling had always been there—from when he was a ten year old with a faint six pack in New Rome, all the way fifteen years later. Now, his abdomen muscles weren’t visible, hidden under a layer of fat. What once was deemed the peak visual of the strength of the praetor had vanished, replaced with a softness along his stomach and hips.

Of course, Jason tried to look at things objectively. His hormones felt more balanced. He actually performed better at the gym. Hell, even his hair had grown in thicker. Piper had joked about his skin glowing and asking if Percy had gotten him pregnant yet.

But of course the insecurity was still there. It always was, and always would be. Part of him felt like a failure for not maintaining peak condition, even if peak condition had drained him for so long.

Jason stood in front of the full length mirror in his bedroom, studying his new body in his boxers. It had crept up on him, hidden in Leo’s nachos and Sally’s chocolate chip cookies. It snuck in the way that so much love had—sweeping him up, cradling him in a tidal wave.

As insecure as he was, Jason couldn’t deny the fire that coursed through him when he watched Percy touch him. To see that hunger in his eyes, hands on his skin…that sealed Percy’s desire as much as his sweet words did.

“Frank’s on his way,” Percy murmured in Jason’s ear. “He was just talking to me about how he loves how you’ve filled out, so to speak…says you’re more yourself, less tense…”

“He said that?” Jason asked incredulously. It did sound like Frank, but he was still unsure.

“Mm-hm,” Percy hummed, teasing the band of Jason’s shorts. “When he comes over, we could just have a Coke and talk…or maybe something a little stronger…” he brushed his fingers over Jason’s half-hard cock at that, grinning against the crook of Jason’s neck as his cock twitched.
