the biggest perk of swiftiedom in the era of taylor being Everywhere is that ex lovers and friends associate you with her, and theyāre unable to escape her. theyāll never forget you. your memory chases them down at every tabloid stand, every grocery store and coffee shopās soundtrack, every social media platform, every concert where anyone has made friendship bracelets (aka most of them.) i bet you think about me.mp3 is REAL

since i mentioned abortion... i don't see a problem with a statement "the life of the mother matters more than the life of the fetus/infant" like. there will be anti abortion people going "oh so you think her life matters more than the baby's?!?!?!" i do actually. she has already lived outside of the womb and currently has goals and ambitions and fears and hobbies and friends and maybe a job and maybe goes to school. she has already been experiencing the world as a person. a fetus has known nothing but a life inside the womb. there are no ambitions, no fears, no hobbies, no friends, no jobs, no school, no anything for it in its current state. i do value the woman's life more than the fetus's simple state of being alive and i don't find any issue with that statement. just because a fetus has the potential to become a person in the future does not mean a woman who is living life right now should be forced against her will to drop everything and restructure her entire life around pregnancy and childbirth and childrearing. what is so wrong with saying that why does it make people so mad
While we continue to donate to personal evacuation funds, I think it is crucial to keep in mind that these individuals as well as millions more in Gaza are currently actively in need of basic necessities like food, water, shelter, and medical care. Keeping this in mind, and recognising that there is no way to know when the border crossing with Egypt will reopen, I think our attention should also be on raising funds for organisations currently on the ground who will have the widest impact on the lives of Palestinians who are still enduring the genocide in Gaza.
Below are some verified donation links of organisations that are currently providing assistance for the people in Gaza directly:
Food, water, and shelter
Taawon has launched a campaign to provide support in Gaza through food parcels, shopping vouchers, fresh produce, water bottles and shelter tents.
Watermelon Relief is a project initiated and implemented by a group of activists in Gaza, who work to provide aid to displaced families in Gaza through meals, support and activities.
World Food Programme (WFP) managed to provide assistance to more than 1 million people in Gaza in May by delivering food in shelters, makeshift camps and shops.
Life for Gaza is an initiative through which the Municipality of Gaza aims to provide basic necessities for the people of Gaza such as water projects, waste collection and the reconstruction of roads.
Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) is working to plant farmlands in Gaza through their "Revive Gaza Farmlands" project, through which they had already started planting vegetables, fruits and leafy greens in Gaza.
Purchasing eSIMs is one of the only remaining ways to keep Gazans connected with the outside world, to get their stories out or even enable them to call for help after Israeli strikes.
The Sameer Project is a donation based aid initiative that provides tents, cash aid, diapers and formula for displaced families in Gaza.
Care For Gaza is an organisation that works to provide essential aid such as food packages and cash to deliver to displaced families in Gaza.
Palestine Children's Relief Fund, through their "Gaza Relief and Recovery" campaign, plan to provide essential medical supplies and treatments, as well as food and clean water.
Mutual Aid for the People of Gaza is a fundraiser managed by Mona in Gaza, who personally purchases and distributes basic supplies including food parcels to families in Gaza.
Help Gaza Children is another grassroots effort operating on the ground in Gaza to support families with food, water and clothing.
Medical care
Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP) provides medical supplies and supports healthcare services in Gaza.
Gaza Wound Care is a medical team in a tent in Nuseirat, providing care to children and supporting pregnant women.
Children Not Numbers is an NGO dedicated to providing medical care for the children in Gaza including delivery of medical aid and medical evacuation for children.
Verified Palestinian gofundmeās Masterlist
Rightfully so, I have gotten messages worrying if everything I post is legit (I try my best to make sure the answer is yes), but hereās a masterlist of ones that one or more people have confirmed are legit Palestinians. Most are from the blogs @el-shab-hussein, @ibtisams, @palestinecharitycommissionsassoc ,@90-ghost, @nabulsi and @palipunk
I will also be making individual posts for most of these
these are vetted, please don't hesitate to share and donate
we need to have a conversation around white peoples inherent belief that poc are more backwards and bigoted than white people
to this day you'll find several people that wholeheartedly believe that colonization, while "not good" did still help "improve" the world. you'll find a not insignificant amount of 'progressive' white people that accept, for example, immigration, with open arms. but, or rather because, instead of regarding immigrants as people forced out of their home and culture, often times by the hands of western powers (usamerica's many international interventions, wars, invasions, israel even, or even more 'indirect' involvements, isis being the result of usamerica's invasion). they oftentimes see it as, again, "not a good thing", but, 'just think of those women who escaped the evil and misogynistic third world', 'think of the freedom those lgbt immigrants will now be able to access for the small price of their homeland and culture!' and on the other side of the same racist coin, there's those white people who heavily dislike immigration, not because of its implications on the general state of the world (that while some countries experience peace and enjoy stability, others are unlivable), but because 'those uneducated monsters and bigots and dangerous uncivilized people are going to threaten our white society! they simply don't know how to live in a civilized world!'
the second does not surprise me, the first however. well it still doesn't surprise me, but it does sadden me. i am aware it's propaganda at work but it saddens me that even those who welcome immigrants, feel the need to outwardly 'justify' it because immigrants enrich culture, and bring hard work and look for a better life. and inwardly as well, to themselves they also 'justify' it or rather 'celebrate' it because these formerly uncivilized individuals now have the chance to enjoy society and civilization. which doesn't allow them to question if said immigrants wanted to leave (some do), would have left under different circumstances (most don't). or maybe even if the cost of 'civilizing' the white western world was much too high. wonder even if the 'progress' they enjoy wasn't paid for by the blood and suffering of those 'backwards people of the uncivilized corners of the world'.
i think the worst thing about the whole āanti-wokeā culture is how itās not only dumbing down people (folks are literally forgetting pronouns are an actual word class, an inseperable part of grammar and everyday speech) but also praising meanness and insensibility above all. it has managed to make malice and unkindness synonymous with factfulness and reason as if intelligence didnāt stem from emotions. as if feelings werenāt the very core of human beings. as if knowledge wasnāt achieved through passion, sympathy, and open-mindedness. as if the whole crux of this entire anti-wokeness movement wasnāt rooted in pure unadulterated emotion of hatred and hostility.

watch the west diagnose the situation "uncomplicated and actually pretty straightforward and simple" now that the rockets are hitting tel aviv
watch iran be mass condemned for practicing "its right to defend itself" because that right only ever extends to the members and upholders and contributors to the imperial core
watch the media and "apolitical" and centrist celebrities and the whole establishment with its politicians and die-hard proclaimers of its supposed excellence and humanity all take off their masks for a brief moment just to spit in your face better
Thereās a word in Korean: ģøģ° [in-yun]. It means "providence". Or⦠"fate". But itās specifically about relationships between people. Itās an in-yun if two strangers even walk past each other in the street and their clothes accidentally brush, because it means there must have been something between them in their past lives. If two people get married, they say itās because there have been eight thousand layers of in-yun over eight thousand lifetimes.Ā
PAST LIVES (2023) dir. Celine Song
reminder that 30 isnāt old, itās very normal to not accomplish everything in your 20s, and that it is never too late to learn that thing youāve always wanted to learn. youāre always growing. thatās a good thing.Ā
Who the hell accomplishes everything in their 20s? Who made that a thing?
I was 48 when I started my apprenticeship to become a tattoo artist. I was 50 when I married the love of my life.
Youāve got time.
I needed this right now. Iāve got time!!!
the way the war in gaza has been constantly about targeting flour, targeting hospitals, targeting universities, targeting water containers, targeting anything that brings life in order to "thin out the population" and "encourage palestinians to move to tent cities in egypt"
and then you have western media readily calling it a "humanitarian crisis" therefore fulfilling israel's goal of manufacturing a humanitarian crisis. this entire war was with the purpose of collectively punishing a civilian population of 50% children. that's why it was immediately understood and labelled as a genocide by multiple genoide scholars, by the lemkin institute, and is currently on trial for genocide at the hague
like the starvation and the blocking of aid and the dropping of parachuted MREs to just barely salvage the reputation of a few politicians is not a byproduct of the war. it's not collateral damage. it is a central pillar of the genocide. acquiescing to israelis blocking aid by building ports and dropping pallets of food means acquiescing to famine as a strategy instead of trying to stop it. famine is not collateral damage, it is a central pillar of genocide. killing children is not collateral damage. it is a central pillar of the genocide. we don't need hindsight to say this plainly, anyone who denies it now is another pillar of genocide.
i say this with love: yall will make yourselves feel bad about fucking anything, i swear to god. you feel bad about feeling too much. you feel bad about feeling too little. you feel bad about what makes you feel good. you feel bad about not knowing what you like. you feel bad for not being able to survive easily in a world hostile to you. you feel bad for the tactics that you use to survive. you feel bad for how you identify. you feel bad for being unique. you feel bad for experiences that you share with millions of people. you suspect that every feeling, experience, desire, fear, and question in your brain is somehow evidence that you don't deserve to exist.
i can be so so reassuring about all of these things but ultimately you are the one that's gonna have to make a conscious choice to stop measuring yourself in these ways. there is no authority who gets to determine whether you have the right to exist or not. you already do. there is no body that votes on whether you get to feel, identify, or think as you do. you already do. your existence as it is is non-negotiable. stop trying to justify yourself. you're already here. the world is going to have to deal with it anyway.
#wise words#I think the worst thing we do to ourselves is over moralizing everything#no one writes a think piece about you and dictates what you can and cannot feel and do#no one experiences your life but you

TikTok has absolutely rotted peoples mind. Iām sure youāve seen this trend of mainly cis women posting what they look like without cosmetic work done in response to the rise of plastic surgery and facial filler becoming more of a norm. Everyone who has participated in this trend has gotten utterly ripped apart and bullied in the comments.
This was the top comment and like.. what are you talking about? Have we forgotten what real people look like?
This wasnāt even the worst comment
Promoting an untouched face??? You mean accepting yourself as you are?
IG is the same if not worse. I keep coming across these, it's always women my age (20 something/late 20s) with a comment section full of people telling them they look 40 at best or that they're aging like milk??? The last one I saw, OP was also 27 and she said she had never gotten work done, suffered acne for the majority of her teens, and had sensitive skin. I went into the comments and the top comment was a girl saying "I'm also 27 and I don't look like this. My 50 year old mom looks younger than you". When I replied, she called me a liar because I said that everyone ages differently and that was normal for a 27 year old???? She literally went into a full rant saying she couldn't stand people that were too sensitive and hated honesty??????? I logged off for good. People in TikTok and IG have absolutely lost their minds.
Overheard in a thread about restaurants offering free meals.
"If people that donāt need it take it, it says something about them. If you donāt give because of the chance someone might take it that doesnāt need it, that says something about you."
This is the most successful way I have ever found to explain my take on panhandling. People are going to take advantage of you. That is unavoidable, it is just going to happen. But that's a them problem. Your act of kindness is not altered by someone else's deceit.
I read a book a few years back that permanently altered the way I think about this. A teenage boy gives freely to a stranger, and is asked why he would do that.
āI just donāt think I should be the judge of who actually needs my help or not, like they should do a dance or sing me a song to prove theyāre worthy. Asking for help when you need it should be enough.ā
They Both Die At the End by Adam Silvera
Thank you for the recommendation!
also, frankly, if someone is asking for help who ādoesnāt really need itāā¦ā¦idk. i donāt buy that. if someone is asking for help, i think they need it. maybe they donāt need my ten dollars specifically, maybe they actually need therapy or counseling or a babysitter or a break or a friend or a mentor or a safe place to sleep, or WHATEVER.
millionaires and people who are completely secure arenāt out there panhandling, is what iām saying.
I'm someone who seems like she doesn't need any charity. I have a good office job, I have a car that runs, I live in an apartment I pay for. But also, there's free food in the lobby of the apartment or at the office a lot of days, and I take as much as I can get away with, because I know that ultimately, I'm *barely* making it all work. I can see how close I am to not having any of it.
Basically, if I lose one of those three things above, I'm kind of hosed. I mean, I have a good support system, but it would stress the hell out of that support system if I lost my job or got evicted or lost my car. And I don't want to do that. I'm doing fine.
A lot of us are "doing fine". My mom is "doing fine"... as long as I pay her electric bill and give her money for food every month.
So yeah, that bagel with cream cheese? That's a bagel I don't have to buy now. That donut? Free, baby! So yeah, I'm taking that free food and I'm eating it, and I'm thanking the person who brought it in while maybe sneaking some more up to my apartment to put in the fridge for later. Because I'm doing fine, but I'm not a fool.
