Looked up the origin of #LaborDay today...”Labor Day has its origins in the labor union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.” And then I made this face. . . I love the concept, but it feels like a dream I wake up from only to find I’m still working more like an average of 14 hour days. The hustle is real, but I often want to quit. . . What are you reflecting in your daily life? Can I encourage you to reflect love? /////////// How to reflect love: Move in the opposite spirit of whatever nasty thing you’re facing. ///////////// When someone is unkind, stop yourself from reflecting their unkindness and reflect kindness. When someone gossips about you, don’t return the favor by gossiping about them. And when gossip is shared with you, just stop listening. When someone speaks death, speak life. When someone puts down, lift up. When someone yells at you, respond calmly and quietly. When someone cuts you off in traffic, let another car in. When someone looks at something negatively, find the positive, no matter how small. Is there anything you can learn? Is this an opportunity to exercise love and kindness? Whatever negative it is, just respond with the opposite positive. It’ll change your life minute by minute and hour by hour, until one day you see how much you’ve grown and realize, you’re in a whole new mindset.
