The integration of architecture into the landscape has always been important to architect Roland Simounet. Thus, for the construction of the Musée de la Préhistoire d'Ile de France in the forest of Nemours-Poligny, he first made a complete topographical survey of the site, describing the trees and rocks protruding from the earth. According to this plan, he placed his building on the side in order to interfere as little as possible with the natural environment.
