self indulgent jayrena rambles i have just to speak them into existence. They exist here they are. My self indulgent happy feeling thoughts. Definitely not what would happen in canon (as if dc would ever bring her back lol)

Rena moved around a lot. by the time she’s of age she’s used to it. never fully staying in one place because it makes her antsy and irritant to stay for too long. Two years max, just enough to get a part time job and save up money. does she even need the money? Her dads got enough cash to cover her expensive tastes. He doesn’t know what she does other than just move around meeting people and making connections. type of connections that help him and his job. It’s a mutual beneficiary.

She makes up whatever excuses she needs to. Enough plausible reason to get her parents off her back. Although to be honest they dont even care too much, she’s an adult she can figure it out.

She leaves gotham when she’s young and by the time she’s 20 she’s traveled most of the country.

she doesn’t go back to gotham, not at first. She heads to bludhaven for the party scene. They’re crazy out there, it’s even better than some of the other major cities. Plus they got the good gotham shit.

She parties in bludhaven but decides to ‘live’ in gotham. Rent is cheap, Wayne enterprise hires easy with good money. They’re stable. She works part time even though she doesn’t really need the cash. she went to school briefly for law before deciding to take a gap year. She works as an assistant in some part of WE’s legal team. She knows enough to get by.

Bludhavens where she spends most of her time at night. She does come to gotham every once in a while. She remembers the iceberg lounge and obviously everyone has to go there at least once.

She doesn’t remember jason too much. She remembers him enough to have a positive feeling with gotham. She remembers how sweet some boy was, does she remember his name?

She isn’t focused on him at all when he first noticed her. She’s focused on herself and the drinks that wants next. she’s focused on the bass of the music that bumps against her chest.

Whats he doing here who knows. He has plans for gotham. he has plans for bruce. Nothing about this place is in his plans. He just felt the pull tonight. Maybe old habits die hard. He likes a good drink even if it’s from that irritating bird.

He sees her first. She feels familiar although he doesn’t know why. Did he save her? did they sell to her? was she an informant? he recognizes some features but she looks different. Maybe it’s the way her hair sways, her lips smile, her movements that make it click in his mind. She’s no longer that young girl he thought should be cautious. He thought he could care for. Thought he could make sure she doesn’t end up like every other woman in his life at that point.

He breathes slowly, taking the whole scene around him. She’s grown into a woman he’s used to seeing around gotham. His efforts were wasted but it’s common. Has she been here the whole time? He should look her up later. after. there’ll be plenty time after. More important things to work on first don’t get distracted.

He watches, more out of curiosity. Habit. He’s always just been watching.

She slips past her friends, possibly friends, assuming friends, she’s always tried to be popular but he’s not sure if it worked out. She exhales a laugh as she keans against a table, reaching over to grab a bottle and take a sip.

He’s a grown man now. he’s older. he’s more experienced. He knows his clientele. he knows how they are. he knows just from reading her body language that she’s into this. She’s a lot more confident than how she was when she was younger.

He should be more confident around her. He still watches and decides whether to approach her or not. He still feels a little funny in his stomach thinking about her. It’s been years, she’s not gonna remember him. A new start. If he wants it. He has other plans. He should be focusing on those plans. Time sensitive.

He watches her. She has a friend slide in beside her, leaning in talking over the music. A shared laugh between them. Rena leans up, finishing her bottle and setting it down rather rough.

Her friends noticed him staring first. She smiles at him. waves. leans down to speak to her. Rena looks up, looking around at the mystery man.

He suddenly feels hot but keeps staring. He’s a grown man now. He’s grown. he’s not a kid.

Before he thinks about it he’s moving. approaching. He has time. he has plans. He has some time. His plans are time sensitive. One night wouldnt hurt.

She looks up at the man, feels familiar but she’s met a bunch of boys around. he looks too rough for some reason. a good rough. A sad rough. The kind that intrigued her. Not enough to stay.

A few drinks between them, light flirting, heavy petting. nothing emotional. He remembers her well now. his stomach knots itself for whatever reason. She feels warm. She always feels warm.

It’s not a real relationship. It’s a one time thing. He has plans, he has no time. She never stays too long and she’s stayed here for almost two years. It’s time to go. There’s new movement out in metropolis. It’s hard to let go of a first crush. He has bigger plans that require his focus. After that, after bruce, after. Itll be better. Better for him and he can focus on other things.

He’s a grown man. With grown feelings. He’s always had grown feelings. grown thoughts about girls. Sweet thoughts about girls. His mind wanders a little. He’s always dreamed about stability. after his plans. after Bruce. he can focus after. white dress.

She tasted sweet. Warm familiar liquor. warm. sweet. After. Bruce will do the right thing and he can ask afterwards about her. He needs to focus. Plans come first.
