if anyone ever asks why return of the jedi is my favourite star wars film i’ll just send them this gif
I think the funnier conclusion is that Luke did mean to physically kick the guy, missed, and then used the force to cover his fuckup.
y'all if any of you have issues with heat sores from bed (or just being overheated in general, I'm in chronic pain groups so I like to clearly specify it's helpful for people who are bedbound/have limited or restricted movement, especially due to heat sensitivity in the summer) Aldi's FINALLY HAS THE COOLING PADS AGAIN!!!! they're fantastic for slapping on your mattress, don't leak and don't need to be pre-frozen, and the cooling lasts a good 6-8 hrs and refreshes itself over the next couple of hours. I get 2 or 3 and rotate them through the night/whenever I'm stuck in bed for the day, by the time one states getting hot the other one is ready to go. and since it's meant for dog claws it's not gonna pop on you because you scratched it with a hangnail or whatever. (also you can wipe it with a wet towel to clean it if need-be). they're FIFTEEN USD and they last for several months of daily usage (mine eventually died about a year later, but unfortunately they didn't sell them last year and it was Pure Hell™ 🥲)
tldr: Aldi's is selling cooling mats for 15 USD and they're a fuckin godsend if you're someone that has issues with heat or need help cooling your bed/recliner/etc.

tumblr isn’t considered a social media because everyone on here is just talking to themselves
yeah i agree
So many fiber arts have difficulty levels that are less about your level of skill than your ability to tolerate extreme multi-step processes.
Its also probably one of the reasons why any fiber art is a gateway drug into every other fiber art. I could do [other fiber art], I basically do half of those steps already for [current fiber art]. If I’m already doing 18 steps to make this sweater, is it really that many more steps if I spin my own wool? If I had sheep, I could skip the step of sourcing my material.
I need this Mechanical Delete Ring for many reasons...

Story time:
In middle school biology, we did an experiment. We were given yams, which we would sprout in cups of water. We then had to make hypotheses about how the yams would grow, based on descriptions of yam plants in our books, and make notes of our observations as they grew.
Here’s what was supposed to happen: we were supposed to see that the actual growth of the plant did not resemble our hypotheses. We were then supposed to figure out that these were, in fact, sweet potatoes.
What actually happened was that every single student in every single class lied in their notes so that their observations perfectly matched their hypotheses. See, everyone assumed the mismatch meant they had done something wrong in the process of growing the plant or that they had misunderstood the dichotomous key or the plant identification terminology. And, thanks to the wonders of a public school education, everyone assumed the wrong results would get us a failing grade. We were trying to pass. We didn’t want to get bitched out by the teacher. Curiosity, learning, science - that had nothing to do with why we were sitting in that classroom. So we all lied.
The teacher was furious. She tried to fail every student, but the administration stepped in and told her she wasn’t allowed to because a 100% fail rate is recognized as a failure of the teacher, not the class. It wasn’t even her fault, really, though her being a notorious hard-ass didn’t help. It was a failure of the entire educational system.
So whenever I see crap like Elizabeth Holmes’s blood test scam or pharmaceutical trials which are unable to be replicated or industry-funded research that reaches wildly unscientific conclusions, I just remember those fucking sweet potatoes. I remember that curiosity dies when people are just trying to give their superiors the “right” answers, so they can get the grade, get the job, get the paycheck. It’s not about truth when it’s about paying rent. There’s no scientific integrity if you can’t control for human desperation.

For the sake of your mental health, choose people who communicate, take accountability, and treat your heart with care.
Today is the thirty seventh anniversary of that thing that didn’t happen.
June 4th is the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre.
On 4 June 1989, Chinese troops opened fire on students and workers who had been peacefully protesting for political reforms in and around Be
There's this general assumption that able bodie and/or privileged people make that they will be the same for their whole life.
I notice this correlation that entitled people have with each other, they generally act like they are immune to consequences/bad outcomes, even natural random ones like spontaneously becoming disabled.
Like certain people who have never experienced disability, disease, or grief in their life, act in a way where they think they are invincible.
For example, someone who has never gotten arrested or charged for their actions suddenly getting arrested for something reckless they did.
Idk it's just entitled (usually white) People taking advantage of their privalige and thinking they will always be young and able and free, when consequences for the mindset usually would result in legal or medical ramifications (that they assume they are immune to) for any one else who is poor or any minority.
Like that meme where it's like
"I Haven't died yet so I have to assume I'm immortal until I'm proven otherwise."
It sucks being so disabled and being surrounded by people who don't even think twice about their actions.
It just sucks that usually if you're privalaged your probably blind to it/ignorant, because no matter what humans usually focus on the negative stuff,
Disability is the only marginalized group anyone can join at any time.

yesterday my grandma found a penny on the floor and said to my grandpa “there’s that penny again, pa!” and i absolutely lost my mind because i couldn’t shelve the thought of a single panel Far Side comic of two old people on the front porch in the middle of nowhere and a giant penny angrily and inexplicably rolling through the wastes
“there’s that penny again, pa!”
this is hands down my single favorite post ive ever made that got notes
I sincerely hope that the OP realizes that gramma was very likely quoting that cartoon.
the cartoon that was drawn and posted based on my post? probably not, but i guess we can never know
