I found some fun Hadestown flubs and mishaps! The show must go on, and sometimes they get immortalized. XD Kevyn's makes me think his Hades is secretly depressed. *hugs for his Hades*

Others I've heard about are Hannah Whitley's Eurydice tripping on the stairs when Hades called Eurydice into the office, Nick Barasch's Orpheus wiping out in Wait for Me and Epic 1, Lillias White's Hermes saying dogs and cats hang around the gates of Hadestown, and Eddie Noel Rodriguez's Hades trying to say 'and the war is never won' instead of 'and our work is never done' and it came out as 'and the wark is never done,' which reminds me of a Chocobo from Final Fantasy.

Love all you amazing Hadestown cast members, hope you have awesome, fun-filled days, and even when mistakes happen I hope you can laugh at them!

I wrote a Hadestown fanfic inspired by stuff Phillip Boykin has said about wanting to be Orpheus, talking about a lyre, and his general vibe as Hades. Also included a lot of mythology in-jokes.

After the turn, Eurydice wanders Hadestown and feels drawn to Hades' palace. She hears a faint melody on the wind, is astonished to find Hades himself playing the lyre, and a plan is formed that may just help Hades, the Workers, and Eurydice herself. Based on Phillip Boykin playing Hades currently, and Orpheus when he was young.

I feel like Hades has a potted cactus on his desk that he pays an inordinate amount of attention to, especially when Persephone's gone, since it's the one plant she gave him that he didn't manage to kill. Hades also likes cactus friend because it has spines and doesn't need a lot of water. When it has a baby he about goes through the ceiling in joy.

hermes in hadestown is the exact opposite of an unreliable narrator. a tortured narrator. a little *too* reliable. incredibly aware of exactly what is happening at any given moment, vaguely spoiling it for you in the beginning, despairing every second of it. but ultimately motivated to continue to tell the story over and over and over with a smiling face for the sake of the audience, and for the sake of the characters themselves, singing it again to keep them alive. knowing how it will end, but singing it again so that the cycle may restart and eurydice may come back to life. enduring the misery of it all, over and over, holding the knowledge of what will come to pass but continuing anyway to see orpheus happy just one more time before it all goes down in flames again.

I feel like one day Orpheus goes shopping for Eurydice as a surprise, he doesn't have much but gets her a trinket she likes. Like a bracelet, or a feather, or sewing thread if her jacket needs repairs.

Phillip Boykin has mentioned wanting to play Orpheus in Hadestown if he could and did play Orpheus in a different show, Famous Orpheus, when he was younger. Between that and this video where he talks about a lyre I headcanon his Hades has a lyre stored away and knows how to play but is out of practice since focusing on Hadestown. Persephone and Cerberus miss his impromptu guitar sessions and Orpheus would offer to help him remember how to play.

I can see post-turn Eurydice hearing him play and thinking of Orpheus.
